I have been using Nanaimo location to get all of my hard to find parts. From old rubber gaskets that fit my water filter system on my well, to old threaded pipe used to hold together my sink drain basket. They never fail to have what i Need when i need it.
The last time i visited, the employee went above and beyond and spent a good 30 min rummaging around in their "no longer manufactured remnants" to find parts that might work for me. Not only did they find parts that would work....they even gave me the last ones they had for free!
As a person living on one of the smaller islands I cant stress enough how much it means to me to have that kind of customer service. It was only a 25 cent part, but I had already spent the better part of a week looking everywhere else for said part and no one else had anything close to what i needed.
I don't go there very often, but when i do it has always been a positive experience. I would rather go here than Home Despot or Lowes. At least these people have some idea of what I am looking for and can give me better advice than i can get at other big box stores.
Best of all I can get filters for my water filtration system on the cheap and in bulk here. They don't seem to mind selling me a box of filters once every six months or so.
I am just some random guy. I almost never go there, but every time I have, the staff have been pleasant and helpful. Sure there is a line and you have to wait your turn. Sure they are busy, but they are also very professional and give you the attention you deserve once it is your turn. If anything; having to wait a little bit for your turn is just proof of how good they are....after all, if they gave poor service they would not be so busy.
Personally I have never had to wait more than 15 min for my turn. read more
