Not only are their fees incredibly expense - $4850.00 for any service, the professional service was lacking and almost refuses to respond to communication once paid, over a month on some correspondence, unless threatened by a bad review. I felt abandoned by my attorney. I am currently being deported by CSBA. This is, in my opinion, a direct result of this firm not filing the appropriate applications. Graham knew, yet did not recommend that it get filed at the same time as the original application. Of course the application was denied and another application was filed, but not the one that really needed to be. I hire attorneys for their expertise and knowledge and trust they advise as to what is best for me. I don't feel that was the case here.

I initially retained this law firm on a contingency basis last summer. The lawyer handling my file…read morestopped responding, then I checked their website and his bio was missing; he was no longer there. I phoned and Mr. Snyder returned my call. It turns out this lawyer was gone for quite some time but nobody from this law firm contacted me to tell me that. I was basically left hanging at first until I contacted them myself. He told me the firm was still able to assist me and that someone would contact me the following week. I waited three weeks and never received a call. I couldn't help but wonder whether the nature of my case played a role. My lawsuit is against the RCMP, and I know that many law firms are reluctant to take on that type of case. Mr. Snyder also told me that my lawyer was on an indefinite medical leave, which concerned me because he was very kind and professional. Eventually, that same lawyer contacted me after joining another law firm. He was never sick; Mr. Snyder was actually being dishonest. He told me he left this firm abruptly and expressed negative opinions about his experience there. I can only speak to what I was told, but it certainly added to my concerns, and after my personal experience with them, that doesn't surprise me. He warned me that they will try to gouge me for money. Although my case was accepted on a contingency basis almost a year ago, I have continued receiving requests for approximately $814 in fees, which relate to opening the file and filing costs. I have now received a collection letter in the mail, with interest of about $60. As a Canadian military veteran living on a fixed income, $875 is a significant amount of money to me. One of the reasons many people seek lawyers who work on contingency is because they can't afford hourly legal costs. It's quite petty of this law firm to be continually harassing me for this much money. I am worried that it will be sent to collections, which will cause me real financial hardship.

I sent instructions to have my information released and she said she gets hundreds of emails daily and it is not her concern or requirement to get back to me without instructions from a lawyer although four people instructed me I needed to speak to her. I simply asked why she want returning my calls or even acknowledged my correspondence which was sent to her via email a week earlier. When I requested to speak with the lawyer who is now in charge of my account she put me on hold and I have now been waiting for 20+ minutes. It is highly unprofessional for a paralegal or anyone for that matter to call you stupid, cut you off mid sentence and say that you need to listen to them rather than answering why nobody was getting back to you. I would highly suggest she take an effective communication course or anger management.

Because of all the problems, she forced it into arbitration. Their summary of what they wanted was mostly lies about me & my kids. She attacked me with her words in emails. She helped force my kids & I into reunification therapy that was another way to harm me & my kids & cost me thousands more. She then helped him steal the balance of the retainer; half should have gone to me. If you are honest & kind & care about yourself & your kids & you are against her- find someone who can fight a dishonest, manipulative lawyer who will only continue the abuse. The summary says she specializes in "resolving high conflict" issues which was a complete lie for my situation. She created more conflict, more issues & continued & extended the abuse from the ex, of me & my kids. When you have a narcissistic, abusive spouse to divorce like I did, unfortunately they will find someone like them. Originally, he was willing to legalize our previously signed agreement, yet Ms. CRERAR successfully convinced him Not to close the deal and Not to pay the child support. A supposed-to-be simple divorce agreement, with her effort, has become an INTERNATIONAL complex case involving 2 different jurisdictional systems. My ex has his 100% income in China. Ms. Crerar emailed me saying his home-made excel files which anyone can easily type out on a computer, is "legit" income proof. And she filed for the divorce with 0 child support and 0 spousal support. I don't understand - We have been married for 11 years. I have been the sole care giver for our child for the past 9 years. Our child has disabilities with lots of difficulties in his life - 0 child support? Ex told me he paid her $2,000+ to draft the agreement in 2019. He told me he would sign it WITHOUT FURTHER LEGAL WORK, and was willing to pay for a lawyer to review the agreement she drafted on behalf of me to get everything done ASAP. Yet, he soon told me he could NOT get the agreement sent from her. Ms. Crerar COULD NOT SEND HIM THE AGREEMENT HE PAID FOR. Later, Ex told me Ms. CRERAR CONVINCED HIM NOT TO SIGN. The reason she gave him was, according to my Ex: "What IF your future income changes"? Her client wants to move forward with agreement. I gave him all financial documents from my side. Why refusing to put a closure to the case? There is only 1 reason I could think of to justify her behaviour: ONCE THE CASE IS CLOSED, THERE WAS NO MORE BILLING from her side. I filed a complaint against her office. Of course she denied her unprofessionalism. I did not have time to pursue further - I have a busy life caring for a child with special needs. There came the revenge: Now his income did change, according to Ms. Crerar, Ex makes "0 income". YET He can still afford a lawyer WHO ENJOYS MAKING FALSE ACCUSATIONS TO SELF REPRESENTED PEOPLE? I have been taking care of a child with disabilities WITHOUT ANY CHILD SUPPORT for more than a year. Ex told me when he showed our signed Agreeement (between us two, without lawyers) to Ms. Crerar in 2019, her response was: "What is this!!!" "This", was an agreement that both parents reached, to help a child with disabilities. To make sure he has a roof over his head, enough food and clothing, and essential help to survive with, and hopefully make progress in his life! To this Lawyer, this child's fundamental expenses are meaningless, in front of the HOURLY CHARGES They could bill to clients. NOW Ex is not signing, and not paying, and claiming "0 income". Very well advised. Yesterday Ms. Crerar faxed the court throwing False accusation saying I blocked my ex "completely from exercising access". I am currently looking after my child, and busy collecting evidence, just to prove that her accusation is NOT TRUE. I have all the evidence on record. It's ironic that other than my struggling life, I have to deal with such. I called multiple law offices asking how a lawyer can claim home made files are legit financial statements. I was told bluntly that she was BULLYING me because I self represent. Please Don't believe in any of their HIRED REVIEWS. I leave the comment in real name. If one day I get injured or killed "accidentally", this is the proof that I have established an enemy in public. Ms. Crerar has my home address.
