You don't really need to know the exact nature of my visit here…read more I mean, it's way too much information for the average casual reader. Suffice to say I had a girl-parts (gynecological, not obstetric) visit. I'm a new patient who likely won't be here much -- I prefer to have my GP also do my annual exams. But I needed a gyno to do what I wanted to do. I chose West Suburban for three reasons: they take my insurance, they're close to my house, and they have female ob-gyns. Everyone here was very friendly, but it took awhile to get things moving. I first had to fax over my insurance info and get my GP to send over various info as well. I appreciate that they want to make sure I'm in good health and that my insurance will pay for it, but then the woman who is apparently in charge of these things went on vacation. So a week later, I got an appointment ... for almost four weeks later. (Apparently I just happened to coincide with everyone's vacation time.) I also waited a while the day of my visit. The nurse practitioner was very nice, took my BP, answered questions, etc. And then she said the doctor (Dr Fan) would be right in... and it took 20 minutes. Dr Fan was very nice, answered all of my questions, told me I was doing great, so no complaints there. Everyone was very nice, professional, etc. I wasn't a huge fan of the long wait for the doctor, but I guess that's the way it goes -- everything went smoothly in the end.

Been going here for 40+ years. Compassionate care! Front desk can be short, but they are busy…read moreladies! Doctors are good listeners and handle problems as they arise without judgment.

My first son had died, suddenly, when I was in early labor while I was in the hospital. I was so scared but wanted a baby so badly. Not only did he give me and my daughter the best care, he managed to calm all of my fears. I will forever be indebted to this man for the beautiful young woman in my life today. He brought her into the world. She is about to be an attorney for special interests and wants to help those who are less fortunate. After my daughter was born, Dr. Zucker also caught an early case of cancer and took care of it right away. My cancer came back and it wasn't caught until it metastasized. We moved to Peoria because of my husband's job. I am lucky to be alive today and only see gyne oncologists because they monitor my cancer status. Dr. Zucker didn't miss anything. He even caught autoimmune disease markers in me for Lupus and that has helped because I have rheumatoid arthritis and sjogrens, which was caught sooner than the average person because of Dr. Zucker. His staff was also exceptional and everyone was so kind and caring. If you need a good gynecologist that cares about patients as human beings, I would recommend Dr. Zucker to any woman.

This man completely violated my bodily autonomy and boundaries…read more I was told that my partner was not allowed to join me in my check up then I was asked questions about domestic abuse and I was under the assumption that after I answered those questions my girlfriend would be able to join me but I was never given the option. Dr. Gallo then scared me out of a hysterectomy, informing me that it was a "major surgery" which he did not elaborate on. I later learned an appendectomy was a "major surgery" and I have had that done and was fine. He used wording to scare me out of the procedure I specifically sought him out for. I told him about my issues with birth control and he suggested switching me to a progestin-only pill, which has helped. However, he made me feel like he would not prescribe the pill and that I was unable to leave until he gave me an unwarranted, coercive "pelvic exam" he then proceeded to insert his finger inside me and feel around around without my consent. I had only had one pap smear prior to this, I was 24 years old. After I got home I cried and felt completely violated. I have no clue what prescribing new birth control has to do with a pelvic exam! It's ironic that the nurse had asked me if my partner abused me when I felt like Dr. Martin Gallo abused me! Do not see this man, he is manipulative, coercive, and completely untrustworthy as a doctor!

He did not discuss or follow-up with many health issues in my chart. Reading his note he added information about my health he did not receive from me that does conflicts with my current health status. He gave me medical advice that conflicts with everything I have heard from peers, other healthcare provides, and medical websites. Though I have escalated to patient advocacy, nothing has been done to remedy this situation. As a personal warning to other women, I did not feel I was respected nor my health concerns addressed with respect or medical-based advice.

26 Years of Extraordinary Care!…read more I have been a patient of Dr. Shawn M. Davies, MD, FACOG for 26 years, and I cannot recommend his care enough. His medical expertise is extraordinary, and he couples it with a kind, gentle manner that makes you feel completely safe and always accommodated. You have to keep in mind that as an OB/GYN, he actively delivers children, and a new life coming into the world will always take precedence! In 26 years of seeing him, I have only ever had to reschedule an appointment once due to a delivery. I was more than happy to accommodate something so significant, and it truly highlights his extraordinary care, concern, and deep professionalism for prioritizing mothers bringing children into the world. Dr. Davies wonderfully delivered my daughter years ago. Showing his true character and exceptional, warm bedside care, he didn't just hand over our discharge papers. Directly after her birth, within the first or second day of my delivery, he personally brought her new pediatrician right to my hospital bedside! That was my introduction to Dr. Carrie L. Drazba, MD at Rush University Medical Center. My daughter stayed under her care all the way through her pediatric years. It is a massive accomplishment that Dr. Drazba went on to lead the unit at such a prestigious, world-renowned university research institution, serving as the Medical Director of the Pediatric Primary Care Center and the Mother-Baby Unit at Rush University Children's Hospital. Even as her own schedule became incredibly busy running those major departments, every additional doctor we saw within her Rush pediatric team was absolutely exceptional. I have been going to RUSH since I was 18 years old, and Dr. Davies is definitively one of the top reasons I have maintained that relationship and loyalty to the hospital network. When he transitioned from Rush University Presbyterian to Elmhurst, and then eventually to Yorktown Health in Lombard, I gladly moved my care to those locations without hesitation. I had my annual check-up at the Yorktown Lombard location recently and walked out very pleasantly impressed. The office is beautiful, and the staff were wonderful and welcoming. Ewa, Nurse, was courteous, professional, and informative. Kate at the front desk was an absolute joy, highly professional, very helpful, and incredibly accommodating with assisting me through the online patient portal setup. One of the ultimate votes of confidence a mother can give a doctor is trusting them with her own children; my daughter has also chosen to see Dr. Davies as an adult. Having the doctor who delivered you grow up to become your own medical provider speaks volumes to the caliber of doctor he is. I am incredibly grateful for his years of wonderful care, and I will gladly be back for my routine check-up next year.

What a hassle! However, the TRE reception staff were amazingly helpful. Mary Ann Stephens was especially helpful. After several phone call attempts that ended in failure, Mary Ann offered to walk down to the other office and speak with them personally. Wow! That kind of customer service doesn't happen much any more. My appointment was "old school". We chatted and got acquainted before I undressed for the comprehensive physical. I had a list of questions that I had been saving for my annual appointment. Dr. Kim answered the ones that applied to her expertise and at no point did I feel rushed. Dr. Kim was knowledgeable and patient, pointing out a couple of lifestyle changes I should make, along with discussing her specialty area. I have no idea why I had not heard about Dr. Kim and her staff prior to this, but this is truly a wonderful medical office.
