You can feel that he deeply cares about the person in front of him, not just the appointment. What impressed me most is his combination of integrity, experience, and skill. He has more than 40 years of clinical experience, but he still treats each patient with patience and seriousness. He does not use a one-size-fits-all approach. He uses a Korean Four-Constitution / Sasang constitutional approach, and he also carefully studies the fingerprint patterns of all ten fingers as part of understanding a patient's individual constitution. From what I have researched, this approach is very special because it looks at the whole person, not just one symptom. A person with a "cold" constitution may need a very different treatment approach from someone with a "hot" constitution, and a yin-type body may respond differently from a yang-type body. Dr. Choi understands these differences and adjusts his treatment with great precision. My own experience has been very meaningful. I had numbness around one side of my mouth for about two years. After my first acupuncture treatment with Dr. Choi, I felt about 80% improvement. That result gave me a lot of hope. Since then, I have continued to feel that his treatment is not only based on strong technique, but also on a sincere desire to help the patient get better. I now drive almost two hours each way to see him, nearly four hours round trip.
