Andersonstown Leisure Centre is one of the many places I used to go to spend my summers off school when I was kid.
In those days it was the summer scheme that kept me occupied, spending countless days floating between the 5-a-side court, the swimming pool, the kiosk and the tennis hall.
These days I use the leisure centre more sparingy, with my childhood freedom now a distant memory. It has a fantastic swimming pool, with three separate pools for children, learners and the more experienced swimmer. I use the pool quite often, but when im not in the mood for a swim the gym is always a good alternative, with all the latest fitness and weight lifting equipment available, its a great way to work off a days stress and keep yourself in shape. Although I dont usually avail of them, the centre also has a great indoor 5-a-side court, squash courts and martial arts rooms if thats more your thing.
Its run by the council so its not too expensive and if your are a regular user they offer great membership packages to suit your needs. read more
