Anderson provided canoes, a tent, bait, and some sleeping bags/pads for our group and a dropoff in Lac la Croix. From initial communication to pickup at Nina Moose exit they were helpful. This time we spent the night prior to the trip across the street in the spacious cabin at Pine Ridge Motel. We were able to spread out and make sure everything fit in our packs. Canada is open! Great fall trip! Farther north than most. Motored to Redhorse Bay on Upper Sand Point Lake, launched and headed east. This is "Crown Land," west of the Quetico Provincial Park Boundary. The objectives were Marr, Vie and Wisa Lakes. The difficulty was unknown, as the rivers curve through swamps - in years past some reported hours of dragging through mud. We reached Vie but ran out of time before finding the portage to Wisa. The two portages we used were hard to find and one required cutting and removing a 6" pine fallen at chest height. No mud dragging was required, just careful selection of routes and some paddling through Lilly pads. Very impressive beaver country, which kept the water level up for us.
