On our last day in Guadalajara, my special someone and I decided to do a bit of shopping. We got a tip from the hotel staff about this place, so we made our way over here. The route here took less than 20 minutes by uber. We were dropped off in this small street, that intersects this fine shopping center. Because it was a weekday, there was not a lot of foot traffic throughout this place, which was actually a good thing. We noticed tons of shops that we'd find back home in LA, to include high end brands. There were many fine eateries, as well as fast food options on the upper levels of the mall. Since we already had food back at the hotel, we decided to eat something small at Carl's Jr. We shopped at Palacio de Hierro, which is similar to Nordstrom in quality. The place was kept immaculately clean, and the staff throughout the center was very nice and accomodating. After getting done shopping, we hailed an uber to head back to the hotel. I'm glad that we made the time to come here. It's a nice shopping center thats on par with Del Amo Fashion Center in LA's south bay. If you have great taste in fashion, or just need to pick something up for an event, this is a good option in the Guadalajara metro area. read more

This mall is beautiful and you will find most high end stores and delicious restaurants here. We spent an afternoon here during our visit and it was a lot of fun. There is a hotel attached and the mall is huge so it sprawls across two sections. I would recommend eating at the seafood place across the street. read more

I went to El Palacio de Hierro cause they had this end of the season Sale (30% off) and I found out they have a tax-return program for tourist. They'll give you the IVA back (8%) for purchases (food or lodging not included in the program). You have to provide bunch of information that some people might feel like it's private but being Latina, I know it's not, since this is sponsored by the Ministerio de Hacienda. The newest mall in the area with an open air layout, very similar to Century City (L.A.) or Fashion Valley (S.D.) Mall. This mall & it's stores are so nice in fact it has become a sort of tourist destination. lol Decor: The design & architecture of the mall is so impressive the nerd in me had to research. The shopping center was designed by the international firm Sordo Madaleno Architects & in 2009 received the International Gold Design Award for shopping centers. The beautiful fountains, ponds, open spaces, grassy areas, event spaces, spectacular views of surrounding skyscrapers left me in admiration. Location: Puerta de Hierro neighborhood of Zapopan & is within minutes of Guadalajara. No need to give a taxi the address as nearly everyone knows where it is. lol Parking: Plenty of underground parking, clear signs & markings permit effortless navigation. Accessibility: Elevators & escalators available throughout. Staff: Most are pleasant but you will encounter the arrogant or indifferent particularly if you are in excessively casual attire. Yes I know it's sad but it's something others might like to be aware of. Do not feel too bad as this is typical of malls abroad. lol Stores: There are many designer European, American & Mexican stores as well as department stores like Liverpool (think Macy's) & Palacio de Hierro (think Bloomingdale's). The Cinepolis VIP theater allows customers to choose their seats, & has a lounge similar to ArcLight Cinemas in So Cal. We wanted to do some shopping while in Guadalajara. This was the perfect place. We actually felt like we were back in the U. S. with all of the brand name stores. This is a beautiful and modern place. It was pretty quiet considering it was a Sunday morning. We walked around the beautiful garden and the fancy corridors. We had some delicious ice cream and sat at the beautiful fountain. It was beautiful relaxing Sunday. We left happy and content. With quite a few shopping bags. I would definitely be back here to do some shopping or maybe even just sit and relax and enjoy the weather. read more

Probably one of the nicest shopping centers in all of Latin America. Large, upscale mall in a park-like setting in suburban Guadalajara. This is the place to be. Some very nice coffee shops here as well...Nespresso, Black Coffee and Starbucks are all here. Great stores too including my favorite Massimo Dutti. Definitely recommended. read more

This is a high end mall please don't get it twisted. They have alot of fancy boutique And a lot of European and Italian style shops. There is a cinoplis VIP here so don't expect to go see a regular movie. The food court has alot of variety as well. But if your looking for a great meal they have a some fine dining restaurants located on the outside of the mall. Bring ur credit card your gonna need it. read more

Make sure you got the sweet threads on, a stylish hairdo and plenty of cash in your pocket because this is the place to see and be seen in Guadalajara. You are going to rub shoulders with the rich and famous, or maybe just the rich and obnoxious. The best thing about this mall is the parking situation. There is always parking, and it is safe. You don't have to worry about someone breaking into your car because the security is tight. The worst think about this mall is the quantity of people smoking cigarettes everywhere you turn. It is an outdoor mall and it feels like there are old ladies puffing on benson and hedges cigs at every bench that lines the courtyard. They have a lot of luxury good, and maybe it is the fact that the peso is down right now, but stuff here feels WAY over priced. There is a movie theater with a VIP section, a mac store and a Best Buy. There is a ton of American style mall food like PF Changs and California Pizza kitchen. The food court blows IMHO. I think the best places to grab some grub are at La Docena, La Vaca Argentina and La Pastería. There are a couple of cool coffee shops like Sigfredo and the crepe place one the north end. I think this place could use a touch of humility. The advertisments you see around town for Puerto de Hierro make me think most of these people don't live in Guadalajara, but rather in a community that has removed poor people. read more

This plaza is amazing. Its very beautiful and modern, it has high end stores and many places to eat at. The mall is big and at night its filled with cool lighting. There are koi ponds and nice flore all around. Its definitely not a cheap place to come shop to since most stores are high end but its nice if you want to come spend some money. I personally think that the best thing about it are the many restaurant options that it offers. I highly recommend going to, " La moresca", "California pizza kitchen", "PF changs" and "Outback". They also have an amazing VIP theatre with great comfy reclinable leather seats and waiters, you can drink, eat or just snack while watching a movie. Over all its a great place to come to if you want to eat somewhere really nice or do some shopping and have the budget for it. read more

I happened to be staying in a hotel nearby and this shopping mall made it easy to shop and get quality food. Andares is huge and offers three floors of overwhelming varying entertainment and stores with beautiful scenery. This definitely a must to visit and you're bound to find a store or food that'll satisfy everyone. read more

Awesome mall, it's huge! This mall has several high end stores so you can find just about anything you're looking for. We had a lot of fun standing on the second floor looking down over the play area for kids. They have so much stuff to wear them out - from a playground to a harnessed jump on the trampoline! I also like that the parking is easy to access, and you just go to the basement floor to get to it. (We didn't drive there, just saw the parking.) There are plenty of directories to show you where the stores are (in Spanish). I really enjoyed this mall, and I like that it's open air since Mexico has generally fabulous weather. The place also has a small amphitheater for various acts. The day we went we saw a little boy "performing" for his family which was cute. read more

What can I say, this is probably the best mall in Guadalajara. It's quaint and really has everything you need. From inexpensive shops like forever 21 and HM to very luxurious brands like Hermes and Gucci. It has it all. I would recommend walking up and down the strip. Great atmosphere! read more

I really like this mall because they have the high end stores I like. There's also a Sephora here, so I stock up on what I need to take back with me to Vallarta. The Louis Vuitton store is my favorite, and thankfully all of the sales associates in the nice stores speak English. I have also had a really nice shopping experience at the Gucci store here too. They have really nice shoes. But I wish the selection was a little bigger. :) read more

This is one of the nicest places in the Guadalajara area, so why only one star? The problem is construction. There is constant jackhammer noise everywhere. The day the mall was done they started ripping up everything again. I live here and have been subject to this ridiculous noise every day for five months now. My wife went to a spa the other day and the employees had this sad look in their eyes because right in front of the store two jackhammers were ripping open the street. The thing is, they ripped it open during the week, then filled it up with concrete on Friday for the weekend, then on Monday came back and jackhammered the newly poured concrete out again. Needless to say that the spa is losing customers, and so is everybody else we've been talking to. Restaurants, stores, bars, everybody is losing business because of needless construction and design changes that take forever. From our balcony I count seven (7!) construction sites. As long as this is going on go somewhere else. This is absolutely ridiculous and would not happen anywhere else in the world. read more
