I am trying to buy a new car. I am aware that stock is low in these post covid times, so I have been trying to find a suitable car using dealers' websites. Anchor Toyota showed a new Corolla Cross in stock and available on their website. When I called to inquire I was told that was their shuttle vehicle and it was not for sale, nor would it ever be for sale. The salesperson on the phone seemed amused by that fact.
I am not sure how it benefits a dealership to list vehicles on their webpage that they have no intention of selling, but it is frustrating for the buyer.
I question the wisdom of buying a vehicle from a merchant that, in 2022, doesn't bother to keep their website updated and are unapologetic of that fact. If you bring your car in for warranty work will they take it seriously or just find it amusing? read more
