The job, which was supposed to take a day and a half ran to almost two weeks due to one delay after another (including multiple instances of not having the right materials delivered at the right time). At no point during this process did Mark communicate with us. We were always calling and texting; most of the time getting no response. The lack of customer service and communication was extreme and I would never use him again nor would I recommend him to anyone.

We met with several top deck builders to get estimates and design quotes. We were impressed with all of them, but Infinite Decks was the only one who was willing to figure out a design issue in order to bring it up to code. By far, this made them the best design. When it came to installation, I was continually impressed with the high quality materials and design. The new drilled pier post foundations are fantastic and they make my old footers look like childs play. Several times we had to make adjustments on the fly and they were always very accommodating and responsive, which is very important to me. They really did an awesome job all around and have even been responsive and helpful POST job finish, which is also refreshing to see, as some folks forget about you once the work is done. We absolutely love our new deck and expect that it will likely outlast us!

We had sealed it a few times over the years however the weather takes a toll on that wood, not to mention more than my share of burn marks from hot coals that escaped our grill. So we decided it was time to research a new deck. We ultimately decided that we wanted to go with a composite deck. Sure a little more of an investment however you can spend your money upfront for a better product or spend it over the years on labor and sealing your wood deck. After our research we narrowed our search down to 3 companies. We received three estimates and not only was Deck and Basement Company the best estimate, we feel they are by far and away the best choice. Even though their estimate was the lowest (one estimate was over $8K more), it's not always about the dollar. Customer service is important. Communication is important. Experience and knowledge is important. Deck and Basement Company has all of this. Our initial contact was with their owner Pat. Shout outs to Joe, Jon and Kurt as well. They evaluated our initial deck, visited our home so we could review the products and colors, sent us an estimate to review and we were ready to proceed. In just a few short weeks our old deck was removed and a fantastic new deck was installed. Our new deck is much more stable, no more soft spots where the wood plank would give, a nice solid railing, wider stair to make it easier to carry or move items onto our deck, and of course no burn holes from charcoal. The difference is night and day. We previously enjoyed spending time on our deck, now we want to spend more time on our deck! We just love it! One other nice touch, our previous deck had a lower deck area that we didn't use. After removing that area they placed a few rolls of grass over the exposed dirt. Deck and Basement Company is MN based and family owned. If you're considering a new deck or one of the other services they provide, do yourself a favor a contact them. If we sound happy, we really are! We love our deck!

I hired MN Mike's Fence and Repair for a residential fence project in spring 2025. While the…read moreinitial estimate and installation timeline seemed reasonable, the overall experience deteriorated significantly after the work began. After installation, I discovered that the old concrete footings were left in place directly under the new fence panels. The estimate stated "removal and haul away," and at no point prior to installation was I informed that old footings would be excluded or require additional cost. Once I raised the issue, I was told removal would be an additional $75 per footing--information that came only after the work was already completed. Additionally, the gate was installed swinging the wrong direction. I requested a simple hinge/swing correction beginning in May 2025. I received multiple assurances that someone would be sent "next week," but despite repeated follow-ups in May, June, and July, no one ever returned to correct the issue. I withheld the final payment pending completion of this unfinished work. After several months of silence, I began receiving emails and voicemails focused solely on collecting the remaining balance. Rather than addressing the unresolved problems, the communication escalated into threats of a mechanic's lien and small claims court. The tone became aggressive and, frankly, unprofessional. Eventually, the company offered a "discount" that was unclear and inconsistently communicated, followed by deadlines accompanied by legal threats if payment was not made immediately. After months of attempting to resolve this reasonably, I agreed to partial payment simply to bring the situation to a close. This was a disappointing experience marked by poor communication, failure to complete agreed-upon work, and unnecessarily hostile collection tactics. I strongly recommend getting all details in writing, clarifying exactly what "removal" includes, and being prepared to follow up persistently. Based on my experience, I would not hire this company again.
