When I'm in town this is a fun gym to go to! Love the nightlife vibe inside and the staff is always happy. This gym is much bigger in the inside than what it appears to be. They have plenty of equipment and strength training stations I don't think one can get bored. Love the spa effect here too, you can jog on the treadmill while starting out to the lake then sit in the steam room or sauna for your cool down. read more

My husband and I have been a member of Anatomies since 2005, and would not go anyplace else. We had used other gyms in the area, but nothing compares to what we receive at Anatomies. If you can't find an exercise program here, then you won't be able to find one anywhere. There are so many options to choose from and they cater to your specific needs. If you are new to the area, you are sure to make friends here too. We have attended the day time and night time classes thru the years and are very pleased with them all. I love the fact that we have air conditioning in the summer and heat in the winter. If you can't be happy here, then you might not be happy anywhere. This gym has me spoiled with the variety of classes and amenities it offers. This gym has something for everyone. They have childcare for children of every age. My 2 year old is obsessed with the ball pit and the huge area for the kids to run around in. The girls there are super nice and amazing. Love them all. You like classes you say? Boxing, spin, centergy, Krav Maga, aerial yoga, power...they have it all. They even have CrossFit. You like to do your own thing? There's free weights, an entire cardio room that overlooks the lake, nautilus machines and even a ladies only room with all of the above mentioned equipment. They have personal training, weight loss programs, bod pod measurements, and anything you need to get that summer body. Forgot your water? They sell that, and protein and pre workout, energy bars, snacks, drinks and they have a smoothie bar. Need some coffee? That shit is freeeeeee! It's also hot and tasty. The locker rooms have individual showers and a sauna room on each side. Seriously, this is the best gym in town and well worth the membership. read more

Not what it used to be. Treadmills and ellipticals are out dated. Half of the equipment is at the front to the left, the other half is down a long zig zag hall to the right. I felt like I spent a lot of time walking up and down that hall and never could catch a groove with my workout. It was better years ago when the womens room was upstairs and everything else was to the west of the lobby. Basic membership used to include access to pretty much any room in the facility. Many areas have now been converted to specialty or training areas not included in the basic membership fee. It seems like they have moved their focus away from the individual member and turned it to group training and programs. read more

I've recently moved from San Diego and was concerned about finding a good workout place. Anatomies is the best I have ever seen in my 34 years of visiting different gyms This is the best workout spot in the nation. The staff is unbelievably professional and friendly. Where else can you find this country club atmosphere, within a gym. Privacy to all is made so important. There are so many workout areas to choose from. Get tan every time your in as well. Tanning is so simple and private. There's the jacuzzi, steam room, suana and all that is within the men's or women's locker rooms. They even supply all towels, soaps, conditioner, hair dryer....it's all taken care of...even the coffee is ready for you when you get there. I've had great results with all the varieties of machines and weights there. They every type of New equipment. In all my years of training, I have never seen anything that matches Anatomies . It's hard to leave there....if only I was there every day ! read more

When I lived in Hattiesburg I knew I was a member of the best gym around, but I still didn't know how good I had it. I've lived in Dallas for the past 2 years, and I've been paying more than double what anatomies in hattiesburg charged me here at Equinox. Anatomies is still better than my $154 dollar membership I pay now. I'm forever spoiled. I miss my smoothies, I miss the treadmills that would allow me to walk/run on a decline, I miss the 7 tanning booths,I miss the water weight machines (good for your joints!), I miss Valerie Folks my nutritionist that helped me lose 20lbs. And most of all, I miss all of the great staff at anatomies that made the facility great. To compare Anatomies to Lifetime, as one reviewer last week, is a huge insult and not fair! (you can read my review of lifetime- I was a diamond member with premier benefits). But to sum it up for you, I constantly felt as if I was being panhandled for money every time I went in there. And my anatomies membership wasn't the same as lifetime. It was $137.00. read more

We just moved from a larger city and looked for a gym that offers child care. Anatomies was pretty much the only one in the Hattiesburg area and we signed up! Let me start with the positive: the staff is just as friendly as they can get! Everyone is courteous and attentive to your needs. Girls at the child center are really going to go out of their way to take care of your child. The gym is large in space and has many different workout areas. There is towels provided, smoothie bar and plenty of lounge areas! Yet, I happened to be spoiled by a larger gym, therefore Anatomies just quite din't cut it for me. It is very dark with no windows and lots of neon lights. There are endless corridors that remind me of some sort of maze. It has a feel of a dungeon. The gym does not provide free lockers (additional $12 a locker per month) and there is no pool. The group class selection is slim to say the least! I went to Zumba five times in a row and even if the instructors changed the song/dance sequence did not. There's a lack of stretching areas and mats in the weight rooms. I am just slightly disappointed to pay same money for less that I was use to at Lifetime Fitness!!! But if you live here Anatomies is pretty much you only option for a large all inclusive gym. read more

I just moved to Hattiesburg and decided to check out all the gyms in the area. Yes, Anatomies is "expensive" compared to the others, but you honestly get what you pay for. If you're also new the the area and gym shopping, Anatomies can best be compared to Equinox clubs. The others in town are similar to a 24 Hour Fitness active or sport. (Hopefully that helps put things in perspective) - Equipment is new and well maintained. Not to mention they literally have EVERYTHING you can ever want. -HUGE locker room that is more like a lounge (speaking for ladies, but I hear the men's is nice as well) Each locker room has its own hot tub, sauna, and eucalyptus infused steam room with super relaxing ambient lighting. -Ladies only work out room. Sometimes I like to do some weird exercises for the booty, and it's nice to have your own private area. The women's only work out room also has everything you need to get a full body workout without ever even leaving! -Sprint track. Awesome space for getting your HIIT on -Spacious. I go after work time (5:30pm) and there's plenty of room - I've never had to wait for equipment, feel claustrophobic etc. There's SO many different areas available in the gym, its easy to get what you need to get done. -Smoothie bar. Freshly made delicious smoothies! Need I say more? -The lighting. Sounds weird, but I am IN LOVE with the lighting here. No harsh fluorescent lights that make you look & feel terrible. The entire gym has very cool neon lights with almost a nightclub-like vibe. -Tanning beds included. Now, these are older Sundash and Ergoline beds, so if you're into high pressure tanning, it probably won't cut it. But for getting a nice glow, they are perfect. I was worried since tanning was just kind of a bonus, the beds wouldn't be well-maintained. But the upkeep is fine, with brand new bulbs just put in. -Spin class. AWESOME room. The bikes are fantastic and available for use even when class isn't in session as well. -Excellent staff. Like I said in the beginning, you get what you pay for. Staff is professional and courteous. They make everyone feel welcome and like a VIP. There are several other parts of the gym I have not checked out, so I can't attest to them (Kids area, crossfit, group classes, weight loss center, etc) but I'm sure they have the same standard of excellence as the rest of the gym. As another reviewer mentioned, this is definitely a country club meets gym type atmosphere. It's pricier than the others, but you will literally look forward to your work outs. read more
