I just recently visited Fratello's for the second time, and this time instead of the pizza, which I wasn't thrilled with the first time, I ordered the Chicken Francese over penne and it was the most delicious meal! They serve you 2 pieces of chickeand pasta for about $16. But the reason for the loss of 1 star is the service. The waitress was very rushing and lazy. When the table asked for anything she either rolled her eyes or act like she couldn't hear us. It's a shame that such a good place is losing stars due to the poor service. read more

I've been here twice. Both times I stuck with eggplant parmigana, once with pasta, the other as a hot hero. Delicous, though the sub needed more sauce. The only major drawback is the tiny dining space. Coming here for lunch might be best, cheaper prices, less crowded. It has a nice little bar and the booths have little TV's! Have been coming here for the past 3-4 years with my family of 13 people. Loved the food and atmosphere and have always been able to be accommodated despite our large group. Today, we had reservations for my brother's birthday being that he loved the food here. Upon arrival, we were seated upstairs. My 85 y/o grandmother needed to walk all the way upstairs which is hard with her arthritis. The floor was dirty, as well as our table and place settings. The napkins on our table had stains on them. Aside from the overall unacceptable appearance, the upstairs was unbelievably humid. We all felt the situation was unacceptable and voiced our concerns, rightfully so. Our waitress went downstairs to let the manager know and we were rudely spoken to and told to "not swear at the staff, because now she was downstairs crying". This is an untrue blatant lie. No one was swearing and nothing was being done to accommodate us. Needless to say, I will not be returning to this establishment and I'm pretty sure on the way out they called me and my family "orientals". read more

Last night was our third time eating at Fratellos and it was just as good as the previous two times, expect that this time we added mussels, salad and desserts to our personal pizzas. Each time we've had pizza here, the crust has been absolutely perfect, the tomato sauce delicious and the veggies flavorsome and fresh. The baby spinach salad was also a big hit - the leaves were fresh and crunchy and the pears ripe and juicy. We had two orders of Mussels - one in tomato sauce and one white wine sauce - and they were really good too. The desserts - we ordered carrot cake, lava cake, key lime pie and cannoli - were outstanding - fresh and beautifully presented. Our server was friendly, and checked on us often, and we even had a check-in from the owner, who brought us the mussels himself. All in all, a great night, a great place. I hate leaving a bad review but we left so disappointed. The service was great but the food was so disappointing. We ordered a pitcher of sangria, fried calamari, chicken parmigiana and chicken francaise. The sangria was so bitter and don't get me wrong I drink sangria everywhere I go. Therefore for me not to be able to push through and just drink it says a lot. The fried calamari was very chewy and not fresh. The chicken francaise tasted like egg. I know it's egg battered but the coating was so heavy and again tasted like it was just soaked in egg. In regards to the chicken parmigiana, I could taste the cutlets were burnt and the texture of the chicken made me gag. They were nice to take the sangria off the bill. We didn't have the heart to complain about the food but they knew we were unhappy, we left full plates and had to go to Burger King after because we left hungry. Maybe the brick oven pizza is good? I went to this restaurant for the first time today with a groupon I purchased a week ago. Not what I expected at all!! Everything went ok until I mentioned Groupon. The owner went nuts! Said he doesn't except these Groupons and refused to honor it. So after driving an hour and half from my house to try out this place they wouldn't even serve us. Fratello has great ambiance, high ceiling, tall windows and brick oven for pizza. It's almost always crowded, but, when it's not, the service is still extremely slow. Don't go there if you need to be someplace else soon. The restaurant is tech savvy, with music in many of the booths that sometimes comes from a digital jukebox near the bar, and large screen TV in the bar. The food is good. There is not only pizza, and the grilled salmon w. sauce is just delicious. Also, it's hours are very accommodating. read more

I am constantly ordering Fratello to go. The take out is quick and yummy. They have great pizza. My favorite is the quatro staggione. It has artichoke prosciutto mozzarella basil and sauce...I'm leaving something out i am sure but it is good! The small pizzas are better to order than the large ones because they get crispier in the brick oven so get a few different small ones you will not be disappointed. Don't order via Slice! If I didn't already paid online, I would not have waited for my food. I waited at least 10mins before telling an employee my name. A customer came in for pick up and was attended to so I approached an employee. My online order could not be found even though it was confirmed , my food was obviously not ready. The girl at the counter was trying to get my order together which I appreciated. Another customer comes in and his pie wasn't ready although he called it in 40mins ago or something, and he was obviously upset. The manager comps his pie! The girl tells me it was a "different situation" when I asked about it. I wasn't expecting anything comped but I was definitely shocked. This manager barely spoken a sentence to me. Just being apologetic would have helped honestly. Perhaps Slice takes a big cut of their profits and my order wasn't worth it to them but it was not a pleasant experience. I feel that it is very important for this review to be written. My mother, friend and I attended lunch at Fratello's restaurant this past Sunday. I am currently on the east coast having my home remodeled and have frequented this establishment many times through the years. As a result of this horrific experience, I immediately was under the impression that it was under a new management. The manager, who later represented herself as the owner, truly requires communication and customer service training, for she surely failed as a Hostess/Manager/Owner when addressing a discrepancy on our bill. It is because of her ignorant behavior, that I will NEVER recommend this restaurant to any of my friends and family in this area as long as it is run by this woman, Cheyenne. I have owned property in this area for over 30 years and am very familiar with the dining environments afforded to us in the beautiful town of Warwick. We thought that it would be a nice treat to go to Fratello's for casual dining, however we will certainly stay clear of this establishment in the future. We ordered simple meals, they didn't appear to be as up to par as I remember, however forgivable at any restaurant. We received our bill and they forgot to bill for one of two cups of soup, however charged for a cup as a bowl... which was an additional $2. One of the meals was listed as $17 on the menu, and the receipt charge was $19, and the other meal was misleading on their menu and when clarity was sought from the server, was misrepresented. It was billed as $5 more than represented by the server when ordered. When we brought this to the attention of the server, he referred it to his manager to address. Cheyenne came to our table, represented that she was the manager and immediately came across an abrasive attitude. We attempted to explain what occurred and her responses were aggressive and rude. When my mother said to her there was "No need to be so rude", her response was "You are rude for reading the menu wrong and then blaming it on the server". This was a ridiculous statement, it was a matter of a few dollars and we trying to explain the incorrect bill. This issue escalated inappropriately and became embarrassing in the middle of a restaurant. I cannot believe that they made the errors on the bill, forgot to bill for one item and over charged on everything. Cheyenne's response was "that's too bad, you have to have to pay for it". WOW! We had full intention to pay the bill, we were just trying to point out the discrepancies. If she would have only listened, instead of becoming so arrogant, the bill would have probably balanced out. She actually said to my mother "You can leave now" right after we paid the bill. I have never heard anyone talk like that to my mother or have ever been asked to leave a restaurant because a "Manager" could not maintain her composure. I will NEVER go to Fratello's again given this experience, poor management and ignorant behavior. It was abusive, disrespectful and did not represent the ambiance of what I, my family and friends seek for dining on a peaceful afternoon in Warwick. read more

I've been a fan of Fratello since it opened. However the quality of the restaurant has recently taken a nose dive. There is seldom enough waitstaff during lunch. This past weekend was " small business Saturday", bringing in many out-of-towners.Fratello had one waitress in a half-filled dining room. She was also pouring drinks at the bar. We ordered the calamari and a pizza, both arrived at the table cold. And while I understand she was frazzled, she was very rude. I know I'll be back,they make the best pizza in town. Came here with my boyfriend for a nice dinner date. Main dining room was booked for a party, and they sat all walk ins in the back room which has outdoor cast iron tables with holes, crumbs all over the floor, and right next to the kitchen door. Completely different atmosphere than the main dining room! The prices were also ridiculous for the quality of food. A small personal pie, got the Margharita, was $15 and completely tasteless! We had dinner at Fratello on the Sunday night of President's Day weekend. We did walk in at prime time and were told there would be a half hour wait... an hour alter we were still waiting. Once we were seated there were 7 tables open in our area, did they not plan appropriately for the holiday weekend or someone didn't show? Our waitress forgot my Cousins water and my 5 year old daughter was delivered her meal without any utensils. After waiting 3 minutes for someone to walk by, we had to seek someone for silverware so she could eat! I paid $18 for a chicken parmesan mean. It did not come with a salad and we didn't even get complimentary bread at the table! It was a decent size Chicken serving but it was not worth $18! I have to say, their red sauce is one step above tomato soup! Watery and lacked flavoring! While waiting for a table we overheard someone complain about an issue in the bathroom. When we were leaving (at least 2 hours later) I found a whole roll of paper towels thrown in one of the 2 ladies toilets! Apparently they never sent anyone to tend to the issue. Also, as I was waiting there was a THICK layer of dust on the bathroom stall door! Also, which we were waiting we experience 2 locals get into a heated fight where foul language was used around children. My daughters meal came with a ice cream and we were not offered it. read more

We went for a birthday dinner and had a reservation for 10 people. My husband and I were the first ones there. 2 hostesses and still took time to be greeted. One hostess went to see if our table was ready; returned with someone's payment and walked into kitchen before telling us it would be another minute. The server was not friendly at all and she was even kind of rude at times. We had to ask for bread. My glass of wine and the rest of the drinks came out 5 minutes before my husbands wine (same order, same type of wine) came out. The food came out at 3 different times, several minutes apart, so people served first politely waiting for the entire table to be served had cold food. The server handed my husband the wrong food (he ordered veal parm) and then when she had to exchange the chicken parm she accidentally gave him and he started to eat, she said "I told you it was the chicken parm "... guess what lady, my husband is deaf, so he didn't hear you! He also asked for extra sauce and never got it. The food was just OK, certainly not worth the price. And the waitress never came back to check on us. Brick Oven pizza and toppings are excellent. High quality. If you like slightly well done pizza with a crispy crust you will love it. The anti, cheap ingredient, greasy pie. Fried Calamari is very good as is the sauce. Loud at times, the service can be a bit spotty, and they need to clean the tables and floors a bit better but it's a fun place. We had one of the worse dining experiences here. It took 45 minutes after our our appetizers were cleared to get the first person in our party of 5 served. The next entree came out 15 minutes later and was cold. I had to wait for the remaining dishes to come out to send it back. At no time did anyone come to our table to check on us or tell us that there might be a delay. We watched tables fill up and empty out, yet we were ignored. Only two people in our party had food that was worth eating. When my waitress finally came to the table (she was bringing me my food for the second time, although I had sent it back and cancelled the order as my 9 year old had fallen asleep, and my 16 and 12 year old had already finished eating), I said I had canceled the order. She objected that she had them re-sautéed the item. When I explained that everyone else was finished eating and we had already been there for two hours, she rolled her eyes and stormed off saying she was doing the best she could. When I asked to speak to a manager, I found out it was my server. I was really disappointed. I'll stick to Viviano's - they have better food and a better staff. read more

Came here with about 8 people after a AWFUL experience at Warwick Valley Winery. Had an AMAZING lunch with my family. We started with mussels in the tomato broth ( not sure what it was but it was to DIE for I could have drank the sauce it came in ) Clams Casino, Stuffed mushrooms and what i believe was Eggplant Rollitini, ( all delicious, best clams casino i've ever had ) We also all shared a Grandmas style pizza ( absolutely recommend. The crust was light and fluffy and the sauce was AMAZING there was some kind of garlic oil on the top which was also amazing. Then everyone had a different dish. My father had the Sunday Macaroni I couldn't believe how much food it was, he ate almost all of it ( pig ) He was covered in sauce. My uncle had chicken marsala which he ate every single bite of ( huge plate also ) My cousin had steak that he really enjoyed, the salads were HUGE and fresh, the house dressing ( balsamic vinegar ) was really delicious. Also! The bread and butter to start with was so fresh and the butter was herbed ( my cousin actually took some home to have with her lunch tomorrow ) I had the Penne Ala Vodka.... I've eaten a lot of vodka sauce in my time.... ( its my favorite) this is by far the BEST i've ever had. All in all the portions were HUGE and so well made. I almost wish I had an individual pizza because they all looked AMAZING. I can't say enough great things our waitress was super helpful and kind ( especially considering the size of our group ) I honestly can not wait to be upstate again so I can go back. by far one of the best Italian restaurants in the Hudson Valley. read more

I've been wanting to try Fratello for a long time and I guess after a nice motorcycle ride this afternoon, today was the day. Not very crowded when we arrived and our server was right there to greet us. I learned that they offer the lunch menu until 4 PM every day except Sunday. Some great choices on the lunch menu. They also provide you the full menu for even more decisions. I like that the full menu has the wine and beer list on the inside front cover with prices which were reasonable and a good selection. We ordered the Calamari app with the Fra diablo sauce. I have to say that the Calamari was some of the best I've had in this area. You could actually taste the Calamari and it was cooked properly. I had the Penne Provenciale tossed with sautéed baby spinach and fresh tomatoes. If I only had one word to describe this dish it would have to be outstanding! First of all, it was served hot, the ingredients were all fresh and the sauce was perfect. I really enjoyed it. We also had the Penne Vodka with prosciutto in the tomato cream sauce. There were ample pieces of prosciutto in the sauce which really enhanced the flavor. This dish was also served hot as it should be. The pasta in both dishes prepared correctly to al dente. OK. So why not five stars or even four? Cleanliness. The floor was kind of messy. It wasn't busy and I think someone could have been doing some side work. Also, they use the glass on top of the tables. This should be easy to maintain but many of the glass on many of the other tables looked dirty and streaked. There were numerous bread crumbs under our glass along the edge. More attention to detail needed here. If the dining room is clean, no one thinks about the kitchen. But when the dining room is dirty, I myself can't help but think that the kitchen where my food is being prepared may be just as dirty. Just from my first visit, you're putting out good food. Complete the experience by keeping up on the dining room. Looking forward to my next visit. read more

All was good.....until a mouse was under our table!!!!! Nice looking place with a fabulous menu. However, when we were seated ready to order our meals one of the people in our party realized there was a mouse under her daughters highchair. We went and informed one of the employees. That employee turns to his co-worker and says "we got another one"!!! This is obviously a problem! About 2 minutes later another employee comes in with a take out container and says "this is my job"!!!!!! He gets on the floor looking all over for the mouse. 3 other employees then come in looking with him. At no point in time did anyone says anything to us (a party of 8). We obviously walked out. We stumbled on Fratello while on a wine tasting weekend in Warwick. Our first indication that we chose right was when we were told the wait would be about 25 minutes. Pleasantly enough, we ended up waiting less than 15, which felt like even less because there was a great acoustic guitar player in the bar singing all sorts of fantastic cover songs (Pink Floyd, Weezer, Sublime). Loved the atmosphere! We ended up sharing the Grandma's pie (wood fired) and an order of fried calamari. The calamari was cooked perfectly! Not rubbery at all and full of flavor. The pizza was delicious; fresh mozzarella, well seasoned sauce and a perfectly cooked crust. Our waiter was terrific, he didn't rush us and answered our questions about the menu. We will definitely eat here again the next time we're in the area. read more

The pizza here is very good. I particularly love the pizza a la marinara (topped with shrimp and calamari). There have been times, though, that the wait has been excruciating. The oven is too small for the demand at busy times. On one occasion while dining with my family, everyone else had already finished eating their entrees by the time my pizza was ready. Not the best, but not terrible either! The hostess seemed frazzled, so she could have been new. She first sat us on the "patio" (big room with lots of windows) and we were seated right in front of the kitchen doors. It was very hot in there with no AC on and the servers walking past us every two minutes was annoying, so we asked to be seated in the main restaurant. She sat us in a booth near the brick oven and there was a small t.v. in our booth, which we found very strange considering it's a nice, Italian restaurant and we were no where near the bar! My husband and I wanted a romantic night out and the game was on in our booth, so I wasn't thrilled about that. We ordered two appetizers which came out separate from each other. The waitress first brought us our eggplant rounds and just walked away, leaving us wondering if the garlic knots were coming. She came back three minutes later with the garlic knots. She could have simply communicated that, "The garlic knots are on their way" instead of making us scratch our heads. The eggplant rounds were pieces of eggplants with melted mozz and tomato sauce. Two of the rounds were very tough and not cooked all the way through, while the other two pieces were very tender. The garlic knots, were good....hot, doughy and garlicky. My husband ordered the gnocci with shrimp, scallops and pesto. It was absolutely to die for. The scallops were huge diver scallops and you got like, five of them. The shrimp were colossal and you got about 6 or 7. I ordered the pasta primavera and felt that it fell a bit short. It wasn't coated in a delicious cream sauce.....the little bit of sauce was at the bottom of the bowl, so I had to mix my pasta around a bit to see it. The veggies were fresh in it, but definitely not enough salt. The kids coming around to clean up the dishes were a little annoying. One girl came over and asked us if she could wrap our food while we were still eating! Later on, my husband's dish was taken away the second he was done eating, which is his biggest pet peeve while I'm still clearly eating. He feels bad because then he knows that I feel rushes to finish. As I put my fork down to take a little break, another kid came over to me and quickly asked if he could wrap my food. I told him I was just taking a breather for a second. A few minutes later our bill came and then another kid started cleaning off the table, taking our glasses and parm cheese, when I wasn't even done yet! So strange.
