I live in Minnesota, so when I look for a used car I always look down south as the cars here take a beating with the snow and salt. I was in the market for an Audi A5 for my daughter and came across one that matched her exact criteria at Amyn Motors. She is a car enthusiast and knows exactly what she wants and I enjoy the hunt. I watched it for a while to see how the pricing would compare to any others that popped up, but being red with the Prestige package and S-line made it a rare find.
I finally decided to call and inquire and was connected with a gentlemen named Aziz. I found out he was the actual owner and was surely the most pleasant car dealer I have ever dealt with. Actually, I have to say he is a very pleasant person in general. It turns out that it's a family run business and he works with both his son and daughter. I have a lot of respect for anyone that values their family that much, so I was really hoping the car would be as nice as it looked in the photos and that we could make some type of deal.
Being so far away, Aziz offered to have his son face time me and go through the entire car, which he did and was also a very pleasant person. Being an 80,000 mile car, I knew I had to expect some blemishes and was happy to see that he was willing and able to point out anything he had seen. Surprisingly, the car was even better than what I was expecting. They even disclosed that the tires were a bit loud and offered to replace them if we came to an agreement. This was a nice surprise because I had bought cars in the past that dealers told me were "excellent" or "like new", only to have them arrive and be the most scratched up cars I had ever seen.
After a few more conversations I felt comfortable enough to purchase the car without flying down. Aziz even offered to arrange shipping, but I already had someone I had been using for years or I would have taken him up on it. 2 days later the car was picked up and yesterday it arrived. It was EXACTLY as described, so both my daughter and I were thrilled! She had been waiting for months for a car as our previous out-of-state purchase attempt turned out to be fraudulent, so this one was a true blessing. It was without a doubt the best car buying experience I have had to date, and it was all done remotely and sight unseen. Probably not the ideal way for most people to buy a car, but sometimes it's the only option when you want something very specific, and they had enough experience with this type of transaction to make it very easy.
I can't speak for the location or the other cars in their inventory, but I felt that the experience working with such open and honest people was worth sharing. Hopefully we'll be able to do business on my next purchase. read more
