We were hungry for late lunch so without further a do, we made an immediate u turn to go back to it. Very clean and inviting dining area. A little merchandise section to the north end of the space. And to the west end?? You guessed it. The ocean! The view is simply stunning on a beautiful sunny mid afternoon. The young lady was pleasant to us. She answered all of our questions. Once she had everything she needed to make our plate fully loaded. She immediately concocted it in one of the largest containers (we ordered one to split it). We also asked for a side mashed purple sweet potato. The final product was a beautifully decorated plate of poke lunch with the dark purple sweet potato. Very appetizing looking indeed. We went with the California Dreaming and Shoyu as our poke choices. The kimchi and the ocean salad to accompany the pokes. Could it be better than this? The food (I mean everything) was delightful. We didn't say much to each other where we kept eating until there was nothing left on our plate. You know the moment where you are completely mute because what you are eating is so delicious? We had that moment at Reel Aloha Poke and Fish Co today. It was a nice way to conclude our 5-6 day Big Island trip. ***Quick note: This place doesn't have restrooms; this is the only bummer thing about this place***

My hubby got the two poke bowl ($18). The ahi was solid, slightly bland but it was fresh. Rice was a bit on the mushy side but furikake was flavorful. Tried my hubbies Mac salad was pretty mayo forward but better than broke the mouth. Overall solid poke place looking down at the ocean.

We loved our boat and snorkeling tour with Captain Ro, Shannon, and Matt on a Sea Paradise…read morecatamaran. We were lucky to have a small group. The boat was very clean, the bathroom was the best I've had on a small boat trip. Our trip was a basic snorkeling: fruit, chips, non alcoholic drinks (alcoholic for purchase). We had a nice cruise over to Captain Cook monument to snorkel. While we did not see turtles, it was a really good snorkel. I've done many catamaran snorkels and this stood out for the steps/wider ladder easy into the water, snorkeling equipment including the fancy "noodles", and lastly, the quick rinse shower after getting out of the water. While I am experienced with snorkeling, this was for any level. There were people in our group new to it and Shannon explained and helped them. The bay was very calm and Matt was in the water as a lifeguard the entire time. The crew was fantastic. They did a brief history, informative but not too long. I also appreciated their respect towards the island and sea, and work towards conservation.

We have also been a numerous scuba dive boat trips. One of the ladies traveling in our group had never done a snorkel trip on Hawaii's big Island. The crew and boat were excellent. The crew communicated well, let us board on time and gave a good detailed safety briefing. They were very friendly and made the trip a lot of fun. Their catamaran, even though there were 45+ passengers, had plenty of room along with adequate storage. The boat gave a clean image and the lavatory to the joy of the ladies was pristine. We were served a nice fruit salad as we left the dock along with some pastries and muffins. Later, after our second snorkeling stop, we were served a deli style lunch that was excellent. All the sodas and sparkling waters you wanted were included along with a variety of chips and bagged cookies. While we brought our own snorkel gear, The boat was well organized in its distribution of gear and had lots of sizes and choices for either the beginner or experienced snorkeler. The crew was very helpful to the inexperienced and allowed those with obvious experience a little more leeway. They gave a good briefing at each of the two snorkel sites that we went to, and spent the exact amount of time snorkeling that they had indicated. While we saw lots of tropical reef fish of many different types, we weren't blown away by the experience. For a traveler who has not done a lot of snorkeling or never snorkel on the big island before this is certainly a good two exceptionally good operation and location to go snorkeling with.

Memorable, unique, exciting experience with a friendly, helpful attendant to get you on your way…read more We saw dolphins and tons of fish. It took us about 30 mins each way to get there and back. Five stars with the caveat that no one was there when we arrived at 9:00 am (the time we booked online). After about 10 minutes or so, the employee appeared (didn't get his name, unfortunately). As other reviewers note, this place is just a table at the end of a road with a bunch of kayaks and a guy who will rent them to you. Don't expect storage for your belongings or bathrooms. Parking is along the street. All that being said, they give you this info in advance, so you should be prepared. We had our own snorkel gear (or did before I lost mine in the ocean later that day ha ha) so we only needed the kayak and dry bag. A dry bag is necessary (see "lost my gear in the ocean"). The employee gives you all the info you need to find your way to the snorkeling area and back. He said they "lose" about one party a day who overshoots the entrance to the cove when returning and they have to go rescue them. Don't be that person! Once at the snorkeling spot near the monument, you'll see lots of other people and boats, but once you're underwater, you won't notice them - it's like swimming in an aquarium. You need to keep your kayak with you at all times, so if you're paddling with someone else, consider taking turns holding the kayaks and snorkeling. You aren't allowed to dock or approach the shore (this is a hard rule - surly tour guides will yell at you if you get too close). Keep in mind that getting in and out of a kayak in the open ocean is not the same as doing that on the shore or in shallow water. There's no shallow water here at all, so practice in advance or consider taking a tour boat if that's not something you're comfortable with.

They set us up with everything we needed, including waterproof bags, and gave really clear directions on the paddle route, landmarks, where the best snorkel spots were, and how to make sure we found our way back. Made the whole trip feel stress-free. The paddle out was beautiful, the snorkeling was amazing, and honestly renting from here just made it all so much smoother. Pro tip: bring snacks -- there's nowhere to eat around there once you're out on the water. Highly recommend them if you're planning to kayak to Cook's Monument. Easy, friendly, and super helpful. ‍

We enjoyed our trip tremendously and Cpt. Craig was very informative about local history if inclined to ask. All equipment and bait was provided, and included in the overall cost. Although there are no guarantees you would catch fish, when fishing, we were fortunate enough to do so. We each landed a yellow fin tuna. We had never used the gear necessary to hook up and land these delectable fish, but Cpt. Craig was patient and informative on how to do so. At the tail end of our trip he filleted our catch and bagged it up for us. We were provided beverages and snacks, if interested. There was great communication before and up to our charter. I/we highly recommend this charter! Should we ever return to the Big Island we will do this charter again, no doubt. I may, if the others were inclined, charter it for the whole day. Thank you, Cpt. Craig, for an outstanding adventure. For me, personally, it was the funnest part of our week stay on the island. Here are a couple of tips. (1) Keep in mind - there is not a restroom on this boat. So, you should plan to flush the pipes before launching unless you want to waste valuable time returning to the launch ramp. (2) You can get some of your catch through the TSA and Ag checkpoints at the airport if desired. We froze some of our fillets and had them in zip bags, placed within our carry-on luggage.
