New location opened here in June 2020, during the pandemic when most to all businesses in Mexico City remained closed. Kudos to Amorino. That's amore.
You will not find the store on street level. You will find it across from the Shake Shack after climbing some stairs (which won't kill you considering all the calories you are about to ingest).
This location offered two friendly staffers and about 30 different flavors of sorbet and gelato. No matter the size of the cup or cone you order they will pack it with as many flavors as you'd like.
The one thing that always confuses me about this place is the ordering system. Just like in most gelato shops, you see all the gelato before you order because, at least in my mind, I want to spew off what I want before I change my mind, or forget what I wanted after getting lost in all the flavors. It turns out the cashier taking your order has zero interest in what you want - other than the size of the cone or dish. You'll get charged for that, then tell the other employee what exactly you want. I'm not opposed to this model, but none of their stores are set up in a way where that model makes sense. If you don't want me to see the goods until I've paid, put the register up front at the entrance and the gelato toward the back. read more
