I was lucky enough to have received two of the Ammann Konditorei as a present for house-sitting some plants for a friend on vacation. I had no idea when opening the beautifully presented little box, what to expect. The confection within almost defies description, but seemed to be a most unusual combination of a very thin but tender cookie-like base, topped with about 3/4 inch of wonderful and not overly sweet creamy (not chewy) nougat-like filling, and the entire bar (which is about 2 x 3" and not quite an inch high) is enrobed in a dark chocolate with a design stamped into it. It was beautiful AND delicious. (Some things only LOOK good....but this was just wonderful.) I only wish I'd had more plants for which to care, so that I might have been given several more of these unusual, attractive and heavenly gifts.
