It is a…read morefamily business run by a very nice family who, as far as I know, come from the Punjab region in India. I have always enjoyed the way they treated me as a customer-always friendly, always attentive, always kind, and always fast. True, the decoration inside is as kitsch as it could get. True, it was formerly a Greek restaurant and you can still see the remnants of it. True, it is not sufficiently ventilated inside. True, the bathroom might have been more hygienic. BUT... When one is to talk about Namaste's food, s/he should open a clean sheet and forget about all of the downsides. To start with the starters, without a doubt Namaste is serving the tastiest samosas in town. Period. Paneer pakora and vegetarian pakora tasted so good, too. Chicken pakora is, however, disappointingly mediocre. I should note that what makes those starters taste even better are the sauces served beforehand. Hausgemacht mint chutney, mango chutney and a spicy combination of vegetables (shame I don't know what it's called) make the whole experience unforgettable. If I were the business owner, I'd even sell mint and mango chutney in cans with a catchy brand name to make more money and institutionalize eventually. :) Pappadam and (butter) nan taste really good. Still, it is a mystery why they sometimes serve pappadam on house and sometimes they don't. Same applies for mango lassi-sometimes they serve it for free, sometimes they don't. About swads...I strongly recommend lamm kefte masala, lamm rogan josh, lamm korma, chicken tikka masala, butter chicken, and chicken madras curry. Indeed tikka masala and butter chicken are generally not considered as genuine Indian food but they are still worth the try. Also, I strongly recommend kefte masala for those who want to taste as if they are having a garlic sausage in a spicy sauce, and korma for those who enjoy their meat, chicken or lamb, in a sweet and creamy curry. I don't recommend lamm kadahi and Namaste India Special, especially the latter. In my opinion, especially Namaste India Special was neither Indian, not special; it was rather like a money trap. The rice served along with swads always tastes so aromatic and good. I'd say the prices are high for the food you have in Namaste's atmosphere outside of city center. Therefore, it is always better to enjoy Namaste's lunch deals or open buffet options whenever possible. Overall, I am sure no one regrets to eat at Namaste as it is one of the best (and undiscovered) Indian restaurants in town. Even a starter and a curry will convince you that Namaste is different (and better) than the rest of Indian restaurants in Bonn. :)

The service was really nice and this place is conveniently located. We didn't get a chance to try out their non-vegetarian menu items but we ended up ordering their Palak paneer and Paneer kurma. Both dishes were fresh but definitely were missing something. The Paneer kurma was made with coconut milk; authentically, a dish like paneer kurma should never be made with coconut milk. They should've used fresh cream instead. The palak paneer was soupy; palak paneer should never be soupy. I feel that this place makes Indian food suitable more for the non-Indian palate. The naans we ordered were fantastic however. We had an overall good experience here however I don't think we would return for the vegetarian menu items at least.

The menu has a perfect balance of great recipes and is comprehensive enough to satisfy anyone. My wife's favorite is their chicken makhani and I love the chicken jalfrazi; both blend a good mixture of spice and sweet to make us drool! During the summer months the back patio is a great place to eat and see the sky. The inside has been tastefully designed and very comfortable. I highly recommend India House as "must eat" destination in Maastricht!

I would highly recommend the cauliflower curry as well as the chicken korma which is wonderfully flavorful with a bit of spice. A little odd was the Butter chicken, because for some reason, the curry was super duper sweet which I thought was a little bizarre. Other than that my friends all enjoyed the lamb and the coconut based curries with chicken. One thing you must order, are the mango lassis and the garlic naan. Never forget the garlic naan.

We started with an order of paneer pakora, and they came hot out of the fryers with three kinds of dipping sauce - a zesty yogurt, a spicy mint chutney, and a fruity (mango?) chutney. For mains, we ordered the Murgh Makhani (basically buttered chicken) and the Bangun Bharta (grilled eggplant that is later puréed with ginger, onions, garlic and spices). Everything had great and balanced flavours, and we got some good capsaicin heat where we wanted it. The mains come with plenty of basmati rice, which is wonderful for soaking up every last drop. The hostess was very nice and helpful, too. I point this out because I cannot digest mushrooms or tomatoes, and she helped me find something that I could eat without causing myself stomach trouble. She even went to the kitchen to confirm with the chef. The menu is in German and English, so no worries if you're visiting from out of town and cannot read German. It's a little on the expensive side, but I will be back again for special occasions later.
