So just an update to my first post regarding my brothers 2015 Toyota Tundra 2018 SEMA build. I just feel so bad for the guy and how Projekt Cars has handled the collaboration so I'll be sure to keep everyone posted on what is going on. So he's paid $1065 so far to just make the truck suspension right as they found bolts welded on and U-bolts in the rear with barely any thread from the bolt to nut connection hahahaha, sorry I'm laughing but WOW how pathetic is that. Basically not safe to drive on is what the shop told him and sent him pictures of the welding. The second invoice $450 was for the upholstery shop to tell him that they didn't even use the right material on the headliner as it has no stretch and was just slapped on top of the original material so they did the best they could to re trim the moon roof that was just hanging down and completed the pillars, oh did I forget to mention glue back the visors as the clips were broken so he didn't have to expense more money for new ones and more cost to redo the upholstery.
The body shop Scottsdale Collision "Oscar" did a great job with trimming the wheel wells out so the rubbing is fixed and corrected all the welded bolts and U-Bolts in the rear for the leaf springs so safe to say he can now finally drive the truck. Forza here in Tempe AZ did the alignment after the suspension work which cost him $80 and the upholstery is looking decent now but let's not forget the damaged wheels that Projekt Cars has said for weeks now that they would get him 2 new ones and nothing yet, no tracking number, no response for weeks ha! Let's not forget the Fab4 bumpers that has been ongoing for 9 months. He's had the truck back for a month now and nothing has been done on Projekt Cars end!!! Shame but karma is a bitch.
Now for the best part, the wrap and Amigo Signs in El Paso Texas that admitted they couldn't work with the material but still did and took his money to send him a truck that looks like shit. They came recommended by Projekt Cars, let alone the razor cuts that they did into the trucks body underneath the wrap... they offered to reimburse him $600 for the shitting work as a slap in the face to him. Nothing has come of that even if he agreed which he hasn't and clearly $600 isn't going to help when the wrap is $3500 not only to remove the old wrap and redo it. Carlos Molina did say that he would get him a new roll and discuss it further with them but don't let him do anything because it might take 9 months!
I hate to see him like this and dealing with his Tundra that meant a lot to him but it's ruined because of these sleaze balls... they ruined the truck and haven't done anything about it. He's been patient and emailing back and forth but I only see him getting slapped with invoices to make the truck semi decent, let alone safe to drive. They still have his wheels and tires, along with his original running boards, exhaust and intake and god knows what else, no attempt to return his OEM stuff except what was tossed in the back of the bed and damaged.
9 months later he gets the truck and can't even enjoy it.....STAY AWAY! Just full of half ass responses and a BIG joke! read more
