Based on our personal experience, our family and friends hired The Law Offices of Eduardo Garcia after a family member and her partner were arrested and detained in an ICE facility. Our family and friends pooled together and paid a total of $7,000 for representation.
The family member who sent them the money told us that they did not provide a retainer contract or any written agreement with him. We experienced significant communication challenges with the firm when requesting updates or documentation, our detained family member and friend were deported shortly after the payments were completed. When we requested a refund of unearned fees, the firm refused, after multiple requests for accounting and the unearned fees from the family member who paid them the lawyer said we were harassing him to to stop contacting him. We filed a lawsuit against him.
A staff letter was sent to the family member in response to the lawsuit stating that their work was considered complete and that they would not return any of the retainer. Furthermore, Eduardo Garcia stated that he would sue each of the family members who left him a bad review on Google for defamation.
While the attorney's demand letter and online responses claim no client relationship exists, we possess the firm's official payment receipts, written office letters, call logs, and detention records confirming the representation and financial transactions.
Proceed with caution and keep detailed records of all transactions
