Open for biz, but door is locked, no walkins and local number that routes you to Africa.

AmeriGas is not a local company, they do not have local branches and you are relegated to doing business with them via their call centers in Africa, Charlotte, NC or Cleveland, OH. When I called the local number, 502 267-5452, to set up service they sure acted local. Now that they have rescheduled my delivery 5 times in the dead of winter and I'm down below 10%, no one is local and no one can tell me what is going on. They just reschedule the delivery which is subsequently cancelled. Do yourself a favor and find a local company with a local office you can speak to who gives a crap. These guys tank will be on my curb shortly for them to pick up and be out of my life. Terrible customer service. BTW, the local location, is locked with the following message, "Out of concern for the safety and health of our employees, customers and community, we have continued to restrict walk-in traffic at this location." But, this stuff is safe to pump into my home, or they've had way to many people come in fired up because of their awful business model.

The conference room here is a good sized hall to host parties and gatherings. It can accommodate up to 90 people. There is a kitchen that can be made use of and it has a large refrigerator and six stoves. It was very helpful when my friend's son's birthday party was held here. We made as much use of the kitchen as we could. The rent for a day is $200 and there is a deposit of $150 which will be returned on inspection if everything is left as is.

You have very limited choices if you live in Frankfort because there are NO other cable options. You would think that since the plant board runs everything in town and they are the ONLY option in frankfort that the quality would be good. My cable goes out ALMOST DAILY!! This is ridiculous considering the very high price of TV in Frankfort, KY. It's really disappointing that they don't have competition and therefore it appears that they don't care what the service is like. Because, they don't have to..... they do not ALLOW the competition to compete. It's ridiculous for a monopoly to be allowed to run without regard for their customers or their quality in our state's capital city. Frankfort, KY resident Mark Alcorn

Built in 1910, the "Prairie Style" Zeigler house -- also known as the "Fireproof House for $5,000" -- is the only Frank Lloyd Wright structure in the state of Kentucky. And although it is a Wright design, the plans for it were actually drawn up in Chicago while Wright himself was in Europe. It is on two sides. On the one, "Frank Lloyd Wright, (1869-1959) - Famous primarily as a residence architect, Wright also planned many impressive public structures, including the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo and Guggenheim Museum in New York City. This is the only building of his design erected in Ky. during his lifetime. House was listed on National Register of Historic Places in 1976. Over." And on the reverse, "Rev. Jesse R. Zeigler House - The design for this house came from a chance shipboard meeting in 1910 of Rev. Zeigler of this city with Frank Lloyd Wright, the internationally known architect. The Presbyterian minister had local contractor Scott begin construction that year. This is an example of Wright's "prairie house," utilizing open floor plans. See over." This marker is on one of the side streets that is on the way to the Frankfort State Capitol, so you might drive past. I try hard not to intrude on people's privacy so while I wanted to walk up the driveway and check out the property, I did not go further than the sidewalk. That face to face meeting was exactly what I needed to happen with the Social Security Administration. After phoning the appropriate phone number I was a tad bit worried about the experience I may have during an actual meeting. If rating the phone experience alone it would be a 2.5 stars. This is based on busy signals, rambling messages, worming through the transfer system and the inability to talk to a live representative. So I went to the Social Security Administration without having a scheduled appointment. I feared disorganization and long waits. Oh how I had misjudged this agency with wrong preconceived notions. I met my husband in the parking lot and we entered the building together. Upon entering we were greeted from a distance by a security guard who pointed to a registration machine. Wow, a nice clean touch screen system, where you enter your Social Security number, then follow the prompts for reason for visit, etc. At the end it spits out a small paper tag with your registration number. We had a seat in the clean lobby and proceeded to wait for our number to be called. Within 10 minutes we were called to window "number" B. We met briefly with that employee who determined we needed to meet with a case worker who could further answer our questions, print out our options, and assist us with evaluating the whole picture. So we went back to the lobby area to wait. I figured it would be another 10-15 minutes. Wrong again. We no more than took a seat and we heard our last name announced and were told to go to window number 11. The case worker was a delightful, intelligent young lady who understood our questions and was armed with computer print outs of our collective Social Security data. She plunked the information we presented into the system and printed out our options. We were not rushed to make a decision but advised to take the information home with us and decide what works best with our current financial situation. She informed us because we had shown up in-person to make the inquiries she would generate a letter that was good for six months to make that date be the application date. WOW, my head is still spinning with this positive experience. Now we have a phone number to call to make an appointment or we can complete our application process on-line. A true five star experience with a government agency.

Tom Drexler Plumbing, Air & Electric - First replacement

Tom Drexler Plumbing, Air & Electric

    (4 reviews)

This all started in April, 2025…read more I had a membership with Tom Drexler and when my HVAC quit working I contacted Tom Drexler and someone was at my door shortly (they do respond quickly). * 1st Visit from Tom Drexler: The HVAC fellow (don't remember his name) checked things out, discovered the breaker was flipped off, flipped it back on and the HVAC started cooling again. He explained that if the breaker trips again, then I would need to call Tom Drexler back and request an electrician come to the house. He leaves and everything is all good, right? House is cooling. Breaker trips again so I call and report it to Tom Drexler's office as instructed by the HVAC fellow. * 2nd Visit from Tom Drexler: Electrician comes to the house this time (very timely I might add), replaces the breaker in the panel, and I pay 287+. Air is back on again. Lo and behold the breaker trips AGAIN. For two weeks the breaker would flip on and off randomly. So, I report this once again to Tom Drexler's office. Soon the HVAC fellow (same one) calls and said, "Remember when I told you that if the breaker tripped again you would need to call an electrician? I said sure enough and he's been here, replaced the breaker but it has tripped again. * 3rd Visit from Tom Drexler: HVAC fellow comes back (responded quickly again). He spent time out at the unit, messing with this, messing with that. Apologized to me. Said he was sorry he missed the problem with the compressor the first time he came. He was very apologetic, and I was HIGHLY impressed with his humility and his ability to take responsibility. He went on to say he would see to it that I got a refund for the new Breaker since I did not need one. He explained after he completed his inspection, and I am paraphrasing, but "the compressor is going out. Said he'd turn off the compressor, then turn it back on, and every time he got different readings on the AMP draw on start-up. He was very kind and spent time explaining everything which I appreciated. He went on to say, and I am paraphrasing again, "The way the compressor is right now, it's going to limp along until one day, it's simply not going to come back on. You can replace the compressor but it's expensive to replace and given the age of your current HVAC you are gambling as to whether any of the other parts of the HVAC quit working so you could be nickel and dimed to death. Would you like for me to send someone over to give you some prices for a new HVAC?" I said sure. * 4th Visit from Tom Drexler: A salesman comes timely as well and proceeds to show me 3 different prices for a new HVAC. The prices were valued at 1/7th of the value of my entire home. So yeah, I needed to think about it. I asked him about the refund I was owed and he said, verbatim "we'll get that back to you." As a prudent money manager, I called two other companies and requested estimates. I also called Tom Drexler about a week after the salesman was here and asked about my refund as I had not received it. The person on the phone put me on hold, came back and said she spoke with the salesman and he said they would deduct the amount from the cost of the new HVAC. If I did not purchase a $23,000 HVAC from Tom Drexler, then they intended to keep the 287+. $23,000 is a very expensive ransom for 287.00 One of the fellows from another HVAC company that came to do the estimate was uncomfortable giving me an estimate on a new HVAC that was "tripping breakers every couple days". He politely asked if he could check out the HVAC himself. He found I had a bad Sump Pump Heater or in some circles it's called a "Crank Case Heater". My HVAC has been working flawlessly with no issues whatsoever since May 12, when he found the problem. The part cost 170.00. Here it is December, 2025 and my heat is working flawlessly and it did not cost me 23,000 + 287 (amt they failed to refund meI). Don't get me wrong, I used to be a big Tom Drexler Fan but I had to let them go. They do great on jobs YOU initiate, it's on the repair side, you get ripped off. Their repairmen lack the knowledge to properly diagnose problems and/or they have been coaxed to guide the consumer toward buying new equipment because it has become clear that SELLING new equipment vs. accurately diagnosing/fixing problems is a clear priority to this company. After much observation, I find this company preys on widows, the elderly, single women, and the young and naive. Bet if I was a fly on the wall at their sales meetings, I would hear these types are their targeted populations. Find someone else to help you with your home maintenance, Drexler will do nothing but rip you off.
