For a good meal nearby, Double A's Sports Bar is walking distance across the parking lot right out front, and Brienzo's Pizza is a nice place for dine in or carry out, about a mile down the road just past the AMC Theatres. As some have noted, the decor is a bit dated. It's still functional and comfortable though. The breakfast lounge area is cool. Two-story high ceiling and nice comfortable lounge area too. We will definitely stay here again.

I walked to Buffalo Wild Wings, and other than the road not having a crosswalk, it's a safe area. The hotel has both a pool and whirlpool, though several of the jets weren't working in the whirlpool on our visit. The hotel is pet-friendly for a fee, and offers a standard Hilton/Hampton breakfast spread. I also used the wifi for work, and had no issues. Our room was larger than the East Peoria Hampton rooms, and quiet on the top floor, though for some reason I found my night of sleep terribly uncomfortable. Mr. R slept great. A lot of hotels in the Peoria/East Peoria area are aging, and this one and the Holiday Inn in the same area are two of the nicer ones currently in our experience.

The hotel has a patio so you can head outside and enjoy the view. The inside of the hotel is also really cool, with several seating options and a waterfall. There are also several walkable restaurants nearby such as Buffalo Wild Wings, Culver's, and Shake & Stake. Too cold to walk? Don't worry the hotel has a restaurant inside, of which my party ordered from. There was one employee working and serving us--I don't remember her name, but she was kind and considerate. They also have breakfast in the morning. The hotel offers a pool and gym. The gym was in really good condition and had several adjustable equipment. The pool water was a bit chilly and I thought there would be a hot tub--based off online photos, but there wasn't one. The pool water was also a bit salty. The rooms were in great condition, with two beds and one couch-bed in separate rooms--each with their own TV. Furthermore, the sky-bridge from the hotel to the conference center is insanely convenient. Would recommend this hotel.

A lot of cleaner type services were covered with the allergy label- filtered shower water, hepa air purifier, non scented sheets, no pets allowed (huge one for me!)... I was so thankful. Our room was great! It was spacious and they upgraded us to a view of the river / lit up bridge that my kids loved! There was reception with two free drinks and snacks, they seemed to be low on the chips next to the salsa. There wasn't a lot of allergy friendly food, but I was able to get a drink! We had great service when we forgot a few things late at night and they were very prompt and helpful. The lobby is absolutely beautiful and a fantastic place to catch up with family or play a game. There is sooo much mingle room. The fountains were a little dirty and everything in general seemed to need a tune up. At one point the elevator door wasn't working but it was promptly fixed. The bed in our room was comfy, though th allergy liner kept coming loose. The workout room was pretty nice with towels and a great variety of different machines and free weights. Definitely above par from your normal moderate hotel. My two main concerns were breakfast and shower soaps. As someone with allergies and skin issues I usually bring all my own items for shower, but occasionally my husband will use the on the wall soaps... the allergy friendly room was marketed as no harsh smells, but that definitely wasn't true for the soaps on the wall! Holy cow, it was pungent, and even when hubs walked around after it was wafting off him and permeating the bathroom. It was super disappointing and for someone with breathing issues; it was overpowering. Second... i called ahead of our trip to talk to the person that runs breakfast or to have an allergy menu sent and was told they don't have one and that I would be fine and there were lots of options... When we stayed with Drury they had an allergy menu online and a QR code posted by the food. For a hotel marketing to allergen folks, to not have an allergen menu available is insane. When my very hungry 15m old came down to breakfast with me we had to ask someone restocking the buffet about safe food and she told us to stand in the 5-7 person line to ask about food... so holding my impatient and hungry baby, we waited for the man to cook 5-7 omelettes, waffles, etc. we got up to the front and explained our situation (dairy, peanut, soy, almond allergies... anaphylactic ones) and he was listing off various things we couldn't have and seemed completely out of touch with how serious this was. Wouldn't want you to try that... that cough have peanuts... I could make you an omelette in this pan after I clean it out (as there is actively cheese being dumped into it). No. Way. He don't consult labels at all, didn't reference any supporting information, just seemed to be going from memory. Completely unacceptable. Grabbed some Cheerios, fruit and bacon (he said it was safe) for baby and ate somewhere else. She reacted to the bacon from cross contamination. My baby has a rash on her face is going to be up all night screaming from pain. Before this incident I was thankful and excited for a hotel taking allergies seriously...

She looked at me and with a deer in the headlights look said no. I said well I had to listen to a toilet with a defective stopper continuously run. The only reason I didn't ask for another room was because I own a pool and am used to the running water. That was the bad side. On the good the bed in this room had to be the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. So I'll say it was a very nice visit Sing Lionel sing

There was no greeting even as our eyes met and after I acknowledged him with a nod. Later in the day, as my family and I were entering the hotel with our dog, a different front desk clerk approaches to ask if I signed the pet policy form. I stated yes and that I checked in the previous day. She then proceeded to ask for my room number, as she "hadn't seen me and my pet before." This exchange was uncomfortable, as other guests were close by, and insulting. I travel frequently with my dog and I've never experienced anything like this before. My dog was not barking or causing a disturbance at that time or previous day. We were simply entering and exiting the hotel. The level of aggression and unprofessionalism I experienced at this hotel very disappointing.

These rooms are suites with the studio being the smallest. It's great to have a kitchen area (with a dishwasher and mini stove!) and some space to relax besides your hotel bed. The studio has a 3 person couch with ottoman and it just feels "homey". The furniture is not worn and decor is not dated or looking tired. I'm so happy I found this place. The staff is really nice. The amenities are ample: a pool, fitness center, basketball court, free hot breakfast, and lounge area where check in is. Self-parking is free unlike some of the other hotels a mile away. Overall, a nice place for a single person, couple, or a family. I wanted to take off one star because the floors could've been swept a little better but minor compared to the craziness I saw at the first hotel I checked in at-- that place has 3.5 stars on Yelp (how?!?!). This Marriott is leaps and bounds nicer than that so 4 stars wouldn't do this Residence Inn justice so all the stars go to them because relatively speaking, I think this one is the true chain hotel gem.

From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming, friendly, and quick to help with any request-- they even accommodated our group meeting across their two buildings, providing a spacious, comfortable room for us to socialize. The room was cozy and well-appointed, with a convenient in-room coffee maker (perfect for grabbing a quick cup before heading down for breakfast). While the closet and bathroom are on the smaller side, they were perfectly adequate for a weekend stay. The shower had great water pressure--no weak trickle here--and though the shower head sits at about 6ft, as a 6'2" guest I found it just a touch short, but not enough to be an issue. Bed was comfortable and room was clean. Amenities are a real highlight. The pool is fantastic: a clever half-indoor, half-outdoor design that, in March, makes the indoor section especially welcoming. Breakfast was excellent, offering biscuits and gravy, made-to-order eggs, a pancake machine, cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit, and coffee in both bold and mild roasts. The location is also ideal--just steps from the river and marina, perfect for a scenic walk. One fun detail: don't miss ringing the big bell at the front desk--I couldn't resist! The only minor drawback is that the hot tub is currently out of service, but it's hardly a deal breaker. Overall, a highly recommended spot for a relaxing weekend or group stay. Small bar in lobby, already booked September stay. I saw post about maid service, for short stays you can request daily otherwise it every 3 days and is posted in bathroom.

However, the owners are apparently desperate for money or just greedy. Due to an error in scheduling, we reserved the wrong weekend to come up and see our son stationed in that area, admittedly our fault. After calling many, many numbers to try to resolve this issue and simply change our dates to the very next weekend we were told that the owner has denied our request and claimed that the hotel was booked for the upcoming requested weekend. I went online and reserved a room for that same weekend that is supposedly unavailable, so obviously not booked. Didn't submit... So, my thought is now, do we want to stay at a place that will willing/knowingly treat people this way. I never asked for a cancelation or refund just to please reschedule us, we want to come, wanted to stay there, looked nice but not if this is how they treat their potential guest. And forget asking for a refund, nonexistent, complete refusal, not even a partial. As I said, greed at its best, but to lie and say there are no available bookings for the requested weekend, just sad and rude. Airlines aren't even this bad! Thanks for ruining a short trip to see our homesick kiddo.
