The Pros is a joke and scam of a company... My wedding was this past summer and we had a horrible experience with their videographer, Jan Phillip S. and his manager, Vincent J. Piecyk Jr. who did nothing to compensate us for our horrible experience. Horrified by the idea that there is a company willing to take advantage of one of the most important days in people's lives, my husband and I intend to make sure that other excited couples find out before it's too late. These guys are a scam. I've chatted to people who have hired them and people hired by them. They only pay between $325-$425 for their photographers or videographers to film a wedding for up to 8 hours. The cost of renting the equipment to shoot a wedding, let alone the talent to do so, costs more than that. They are cheap with their employees so they'll be cheap with you. This insulting payment rate will only bring in the worst shooters thus giving you, the client, the worst product. You may get lucky and the person hired has some talent, however those chances are too slim to trust for your special day. The thing about groups like this is they will show you some really nice work, that maybe their best shooters shot and pass it off as what you will definitely get in the end no matter who they send out. This is not the case. In fact chances are they will show content that they may very well have stolen from repeatable shooters. This is why who must ask for references no matter who you hire. When looking for a wedding photographer or videographer make sure you get references, they have a site with their work (not just Facebook), and they have professional quality gear. You can figure this last part out by asking what gear they have and take that list to a camera store and ask them what they think. If they say that the list is full of low-cost consumer gear then maybe look elsewhere. If they say the gear is mid-range, professional, or that it's capable of capturing the quality of photos or videos on the person you're looking to hire's site you're probably safe. All-in-All do your research. If you're in a pinch because your current shooter had to withdraw and didn't have a replacement shooter in mind (they should) then reach out to a nearby college, give a student a chance because you'll have better luck with them then anyone who passes themselves off as a professional yet has questionably low prices. read more

This company is a SCAM. They over charge their clients and under pay their employees. My last gig with them as a DJ was in Seattle and I drove up from Portland. I hit unexpected traffic and communicated with Hugh and the client that I wouldn't arrive at the time we talked about, (an hour early to setup) I did however show up at the time I was contracted for still. Hugh reassured me I wasn't at fault, and wouldn't receive any payment deductions because I still arrived at the contracted time. However when I got payment from them for that gig he took off $400 of my contracted payment stating I did a 'Mini-Setup' and no longer was eligible for the promised travel pay. My husband and I got married May 10th, 2015. I'll be honest I was a bit hesitant going with a larger group for my photographer but I could not be more happy of the quality of photographs we received. Our photographer was Joey V. and I can not say enough wonderful things about him. He was everywhere I needed him to be on our wedding day. His turn around time for pictures is unbelievable. If you need a good photographer let me tell you request Joey V. if you are in the BAY AREA, California. The company itself need a bit of help in their online marketing. I know for new people it can be overwhelming on how much they seek you out. But I promise you, this company does return phone calls. We are still trying to get our photo from our wedding in 2012. We booked with Studio Blue, who was owned by Bella Pictures. The company filed bankruptcy and was sold to CPI. CPI was then sold to American Wedding Group. We just want our photos or our $3k that we paid refunded. We've been going through multiple lawsuits with this "shell" business. American Wedding Group is a bunch of shady crooks who leave people empty handed and take away something as cherished as their wedding photos when it is fully in their power to either provide these or refund their customers. The list of things that were so wrong with our experience is so long. 1. 75% of the bride walking down the aisle was not captures 2. The 25% that was captured you could only see her shoulders up 3. The video of the bouquet toss ends before the bouquet leaves the brides hand. 4. When we asked where the rest of the video was, the manager claims the videographer accidentally pressed the pause button. 5. When the videographer arrived I told him to check in with my soon to be wife so he could film her and the girls getting ready. He left and came back and told me that he did and that she wanted him to film me and the guys. He lied, he never talked to her. 6. The videographer gave no direction of what he wanted us to do in non-candid shots. 7. The videographer got in an argument with the photography and audibly called her a bitch. 8. The videographer was very awkward and had poor communication skills. 9. The videographer kept dismissing our attempts to meet with him before the wedding 10. A lot of the video was shaky 11. You can see him switch lenses in the middle of moments like the bride walking 12. We paid him for 8 hours, he only worked 2. 13. By that I mean he sat there for the whole wedding, but only got up to filmed things when he though they were important. 14. He didn't think the garter being put on the lady who caught the bouquet was important 15. He didn't think our mothers being escorted down the aisle was important. 16. He didn't think the maid of honor and best man walking down the aisle was important. 17. Only one of groomsman/bridesmaid couples was important to him. 18. He filmed the sky a lot 19. He filmed people sitting looking bored before the wedding a lot 20. He didn't ask us any questions about what we wanted. 21. The cake cutting is just a video of our backs 22. The 10 min long ceremony was condensed to 2 minutes. 23. All our guest described him as weird and rude and and said it seemed like he didn't know what he was doing. 24. He filmed a bush 25. Most of his shots were from bad angles. 26. A good number of shots were blurry 27. He overused zoom 28. He zoomed in on women's breasts multiple times 29. It took him 20 mins to "change angles" 30. When we asked what he wanted us to do he said "Walk around" 31. For his non-candid shots he only shot them around fountains, no creativity. 32. He wasted too much time of our less than 2 hour on multiple attempts at an ending shot. 33. The full raw footage looks like he was only filming it to capture enough for a highlights video. 34. When we got the video the title screen had the wrong date. 35. We went to complain about the video we were directed to a guy named Vince, he was hard to get a hold of. 36. Once we talked to Vince, he defended the videographer by blaming us. 37. Vince blames us for not requesting more time... (Every thing we want him to capture happened during the 8 hours we hired him for, so that wouldn't have helped) 38. Vince blames us for not getting the premium package 39. Vince blames us for being from the east coast. (He said putting the garter on the person who catches the bouquet is an east cost thing so the videographer didn't know to film it) 40. Vince blames us for the videographer not filming even though the DJ announced that an event was happening. 41. Vince blames us for the videographer being ignorant about wedding traditions 42. Vince blames the exclusion of key likes the bouquet toss on accidentally pressing the pause button. 43. The videographer must not have known how to work his camera. 44. Vince told us he would get back to us in a couple of days with his "resolution" for us 45. Vince didn't get back to us for a week. 46. When Vince got back to us he told us to call him. 47. We had to play phone tag with Vince for a day. 48. Vince's resolution was offering us an edited version of the horrible video we received... that would still be missing all the parts and have all the problems we have been complaining about... just in a more condensed version. 49. I had to use my angry voice and tell Vince I was insulted at the offer, that what should have been a great way to remember the happiest day of my life was ruined and that if he couldn't offer a refund or better way to compensate us for the tragedy that is us missing the opportunity to have a decent video of our wedding by early morning that I would take whatever action necessary to right this injustice. 50. Vince didn't heed my warning and now I'm making sure that no one else is blindsided by this like we were. My wife and are filing a chargeback, posting reviews everywhere we can and creating pages, posts and blogs to make sure that the information is out there that The Pros are far from that. They are a scumbag company that buries their negative reviews and tricks people into buying the lowest class product possible. Nothing but a SCAM. read more

We hired the Pros for DJ, photography, and videography at our May 2017 wedding. Leading up to the wedding we had high expectations. Looking back, we will never use this company again. The worst part of our experience was the way we were treated after they LOST OUR PHOTOS. Our DJ and videographer were fine, and the video came out fine. Our photographer was fine the day of. When our photos had been uploaded for us to see, we noticed that a set of the family portraits taken immediately after the ceremony were missing. This set was all the pictures of the bride and her family, and all the pictures of the bride and groom. We contacted the Pros right away and explained what was missing. We remembered that at the time of the photos, our photographer had changed his memory card, so we suggested that he be contacted. We were told that a manager would have to call us. We received a phone call from a manager, Bill, who said he would talk to our photographer. He said that "worst case scenario, if the photos are gone, I can digitally create a wedding photo for you." We found it strange that he immediately jumped to that bad scenario. When he called us back, at no point did he apologize, take responsibility, or even sound sorry. He said that "something had maybe happened" and that "possibly the memory card was defective." We had to ask him if he meant there were no pictures before we understood what he was saying, and he still gave no definite answers about what had happened. When we asked "so you're saying there are no pictures of us on our wedding day?" he cheerfully responded "nope!" He gave no indication that this was something important to us. He offered to upgrade our album, create something digitally, or do a photo shoot. He never apologized. We called the photographer directly, who told us that he had never heard from the manager. The photographer had no idea that any photos were missing. He said he would check his memory cards and call back. So this meant that the manager lied to us when he told us that he'd talked to the photographer, and that he really had no idea where our photos were. When the photographer called us back, he was very upset. He apologized over and over and said that all he could figure out is that he inadvertently erased that memory card before uploading the pictures. So all the pictures of the bride and groom on their wedding day were gone. He said he would do a photo shoot with us and suggested we also talk to the company about a refund. We called the manager, Bill. We asked him for a full refund and two additional photo albums. We told him how we felt about the way he'd treated us. In this conversation he did apologize. He said that if we wanted a refund we'd have to talk to his supervisor and he'd ask him to call us. The supervisor, Hugh Riley, contacted us to ask what was going on. He said that as he understood it, we "felt pictures that we wanted taken weren't taken." After we explained that no, the pictures were taken and had been lost, he continued to say he was sorry that we felt they didn't take all the pictures we wanted. At no point in any conversation did he ever acknowledge that his company LOST OUR WEDDING PHOTOS. We had also scheduled a photo shoot with the photographer. We then got a text from him canceling the shoot, saying that we needed to talk to Hugh. When we did, Hugh accused us of "double-dipping," saying that we had no right to get the photo shoot and a refund. He told us that we should have known that the photographer would be breaching his contract. He told us that he could not give us a full refund either way because a full refund would mean that all the photographer's work was worthless. He also said he couldn't offer us any more than a 33% refund because while he "understands that the photos are worth millions to us, they're not to the company." He also told us that digitally creating photos "is a lot of work" and said he could give us one. He never made us feel like he was taking this seriously, he never made us feel like he understood how devastating this was to us, and he never even acknowledged that his company had lost our photos. He continually dismissed us and downplayed the severity of the situation. Vice President Hugh Riley was the single worst part of the entire ordeal. In the end, we received a 33% refund, two additional albums, and two digitally created photos of us. We will never, ever, ever use this company again. We cannot stress strongly enough how awful this entire situation was and how horribly their vice president handled the situation. read more

As of right now, I give this wedding service 1 star, although I wish there was an option to give them negative. DO NOT go with the videography for this business because I received my DVD with no sound. I called and they sent another DVD, still no sound. The photography on the other hand was good, although I wish we had more photos to choose from. But as of now, I am extremely unsatisfied with the videography service. American Wedding Group told me that they reviewed my DVD and there is sound, yet when I received it twice, no luck with the sound. Maybe a third time is a charm but I have yet to find out. I am extremely upset and disappointed and will be looking for a solution as soon as possible. This is an update to my previous review (below). After publishing our review, The Pros contacted us and addressed the issue. They offered to review the photos and video again to see if they can be improved. They worked on our photos and make them more acceptable but of course nothing could be done about the video. So, while The Pros tries to give you a good service, ultimately it all depends on the professionals you hire. I strongly suggest you choose your professionals carefully. Ask to see more samples of their work and talk to their previous clients. If their work is not good, there is nothing that The Pros can do about it. My Previous Review: We just celebrated our first anniversary but even after a year from the wedding, I still feel like crying every time I see my photos and videos. Our whole experience with the Pros was terrible from beginning to end. We got our photographer and videographer from the Pros. The photographer and videographer were very passive and uninterested. They made us feel very uncomfortable! After the wedding everybody was asking "what was wrong with your videographer and photographer? Why did you choose such passive people? Why did they seem so uninterested?" Anyway, once we entered the church and the ceremony started, I noticed they were standing at the back of the church. This was a catholic wedding meaning that we were facing the altar and I did not expect them to be standing at the back. They both remained standing at the back of the church and never moved! (except once that the photographer came to the front for a few minutes because we specifically asked him to). After the ceremony, when we arrived at the hall for party, they were straight heading into the hall with no intention of having an outdoor couple shoot. We were like: wait a moment! How about our outdoor shoot? So, we did it but it was a disaster! Instead of finding good angles and suggesting poses, the photographer was just standing there waiting for us to do it! Still, I hoped that photos and videos will be good. But when we received the photos, we were so shocked! Even I could do better than that!!! I called the Pros to complain. The director of production,who reviewed my complain said I am wrong and the photos are perfect. He had a very bad attitude and talked as if I owe HIM an apology!!! When I said the photos are not comparable to what I saw on their own website and Facebook page, he said because they are edited. No, it is not! I have had several photoshoots before and I have seen my photos before being edited. They all looked beautiful. But the poses and the lighting are so bad that no editing would fix them. When we showed the photos to our friends and family, they said: Where are the photos from your photographer? We said: These are the ones. They were like: Are you kidding? These are professional photos? Then we got the video. The video is a disaster too. It is a terrible color, dark, and of course poor angles. In the church, all throughout the ceremony, he had the camera on the stand at the back of the church. He did not move one inch. All you can see is our backs. When I told Scott about it, he said that's our protocol. He said you saw our sample video and you should have known they film from back of the church. The sample that I saw was not a Catholic ceremony. Bride and groom were facing each other, so it was OK to film from back of the room. I thought anybody with some common sense would know they should film from the front of the church in a Catholic ceremony. All my catholic friends and family have beautiful photos and videos from the front side of church but according to Scott it is their protocol and the videographer could not deviate from it. So, basically, they don't care about the differences between ceremonies. It is like mass production. They don't see customers as individuals. They give the same service to everyone and will not customize it based on your needs. The video of the party is not any better. It is so dark and quality is low. The angles are terrible too. Instead of standing a little far and holding the camera up to have a view of the dancefloor, he was standing right beside the dancefloor. You can only see people passing and blocking the camera and you can hear people talking in the dance floor. The video is supposedly HD which is hard to believe. The videos we saw online were far better than what we got. The samples they put on their website and specially Facebook are very deceiving. Our disastrous photos and videos are not comparable to those samples at all. And after ruining your best memories, they talk to you unapologetically. We could have paid $1,500 more and get a great package from a good studio. This is going to be the biggest regret of our life! Please, do yourself a favor and spend couple of thousand more and get a good photographer and videographer! read more

ATROCIOUS customer service! Take your business elsewhere! We paid over $1200 for a wedding photo package, providing the photographer with a list of pictures we wanted ahead of time. We received a pack of photos that COMPLETELY LACKED over half of what we asked for, including a FIRST KISS, groom with parents, bride with bridesmaid, etc. Routine stuff! We'll never get those memories back! Customer service agreed that the service was unacceptable but did nothing except promise that more photos would be uploaded. When that didn't happen, we requested a refund. We were then forwarded to the VP of Production, a guy named Hugh Riley. He was supposed to follow up with us but didn't. Se we contacted him, and it appeared he barely looked over our photos or complaint because he said he didn't know what was missing. He felt that the issue wasn't the company's fault, and said maybe it was that the photographer had insufficient time or a wedding coordinator changed plans. We didn't even have a wedding coordinator! Our simple ceremony had only 30 guests, and the photographer left before he used up all the time we paid for! Somehow the company "found" more pictures to upload, but our list was still only about half fulfilled as most of the new additions were clearly reject pictures (photos of my two year old's feet, pictures of people's backs, etc.) Riley ignored our refund request, and instead said essentially that they could photoshop people in and out to make things work, or else give us a one hour photo session to make up for it. Seriously? We had family in from all over the country for our wedding and you want to make up for it with random family photos taken on a Tuesday or some photoshops? Satisfaction guarantee is a lie, and now we're looking for a lawyer. Don't trust your memories with these people. read more

This company is a scam do NOT waste your money on them. We are from Oahu and I was hesitant to use a company from out of state, but the reviews I saw were all good (they must have been rigged) so I went with them last minute. I had a weird gut feeling about them but ignored it in all the chaos of planning my own wedding. Our photographer was Jesper, but I don't even know if I would call him a professional photographer...there was NOTHING professional about the photos we received. My relatives got better pictures with their iPhones. When I looked at our wedding photos online for the first time, I cried. Over 75% of them are crooked or off center, the lighting is horrific (the ones from the reception are completely unusable they're so dark), and the angles he used were so bizarre and unflattering it made me question why we even had a photographer. Honestly I would have been happier without one at this point. To make it worse I didn't even choose this photographer...I had originally chosen a different one but was later told they were fired and I was stuck with Jesper. Fast forward to a few months later when I actually decide to do something about my ruined wedding photos (my husband and I both work A LOT and we have a 5-6 hour time difference with the company so it is hard to get ahold of them), they inform me that there is no way I can get any kind of refund and the only thing they can do for me is refund my $300 album I wasn't going to use. Needless to say I still have NOT received that refund, and the VP Hugh I spoke to spent almost the entire phone call making excuses for the horrible photographer. I am still so upset and have trouble even thinking about it because it makes me so angry a company would actually do this to people on their wedding day.
