They were very nice. It was quick. I didn't feel like they tried to pressure me into anything. I would definitely recommend.

On March 14, I was coming back home from work when my car had broken down in Montgomery. The…read morePepboys on Zelda Road was the closest auto repair shop that was open on that day, so I got my car towed there. A couple of days later I was informed that my engine was pretty much toast and it would need to be replaced. I said that's fine and they went ahead and ordered a new engine. I was able to get a ride back to my home in Mobile on March 17. I called Pepboys on March 24 inquiring when my vehicle would be all set and I was told it would be ready "this week" and was informed that Pepboys would call me about any updates. I called Thursday March 26 because Pepboys had yet to contact me, the manager said they had my new motor at the shop for a couple of days. I was told I needed to pay before the work was done because of a new policy. I payed around $5000 online because I live 2 hours away from Montgomery. The manager informed me the latest my car would be ready would be Saturday. So on Sunday, March 29 my friend drove me to Pepboys to pick up my car. When we had arrived, I saw my car with no motor in it... and my new motor was just sitting on the ground beside it. I was told the reason the motor wasn't installed yet was because the master mechanic had called out sick for a couple of days. That would've been great to have known BEFORE we drove 2 hours to Montgomery. I then tell the manager that I need my vehicle ready by Tuesday March 31 because I start my new job on Wednesday. Tuesday morning I get a text from Chauncey saying my vehicle won't be ready until Friday April 3 because they needed to order a turbo and catalytic converter. He informed me I would not be charged for the extra parts. Saturday April 4, I get a text from Pepboys saying they received the wrong converter so my vehicle wouldn't be ready until Wednesday April 8. I asked Chauncey if I could get my vehicle towed somewhere else because my car had been there for 3 weeks and renting a car was starting to get expensive. He told me it couldn't be towed at that point. I finally got my car back on April 12, Sunday. I took my car to Firestone on Monday April 13 just to get it checked, they informed me my turbo had a pretty bad leak. I contacted the Pepboys in Montgomery about this and the manager told me it wasn't a leak, the oil needs to burn off because my exhaust was smoking a lot when I first brought my car in. I was also told that they hadn't installed a new turbo, but rather a used one. April 15, as I was coming back from work, my car was acting very odd. It made a continuous squeaking noise, it would misfire whenever I came to a complete stop, and at one point the car shut off at a red light (I put it in park and was able to restart the car thankfully) I took the car to the Firestone in Daphne and was once again told my turbo had a leak. They told me to take the car to the Pepboys in Daphne since I had a warranty on the turbo. The Daphne Pepboys confirmed the turbo had a leak and they went ahead and installed a new one for me. My car worked perfectly fine after the Daphne Pepboys installed a new turbo. So Montgomery Pepboys told me my turbo didn't have a leak, even though literally every other shop told me it did. This Pepboys needs to do better in terms of communication with their customers.

They spent 40 minutes on my car and test drove it before declaring mybrakes were fine. I see 2 stars on here, I beg to differ. I had changed my appointment twice, came in exhausted and they were absolutely transparently honest and sincere. They have gained a customer for life. Thank you Scott, Frank and team.

I was told my vehicle should not be on the road, oil mixing with water and other things and that's why it wouldn't start just to find out none of that was true. I was in Montgomery as an out of state student from Detroit. This company's name is what made me want to do business with them and I've been disgusted ever since. I had to get my car towed to Michigan just for my BATTERY TO BE SCREWED ON CORRECTLY because apparently it was loose. I almost spent $700 with this place and I'm glad I didn't and I'm glad my dad taught how to read out cons.

However, now that I make more money and have less time, I take my car in to do longer jobs, such as oil changes and brake jobs. They suggested I get a "Tune-up," which no longer exists in modern vehicles. I asked what this consisted of, and they mentioned checking the spark plugs and adding "chemicals" to help the engine run better. All of this is bull, as my spark plugs were changed 9 months ago, and chemicals are the same as herbs you would take. They may do something, but nothing is scientific regarding "tune-ups." Watch this video to learn why tune-ups no longer exist: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uirmei4GwkE&t=517s Well, after I picked up my car, I noticed it was running rough, and I thought they did something to my car since I denied all their extra "services," and sure enough, they did. I opened my hood and noticed my factory ram-air intake was tampered with and improperly installed. The interesting thing is you do not take this part off to check the air filter, which they said was dirty even though it is less than 6 months old. The only way the air intake would be like this is if they purposely did this. They wanted me to return to say the car was running rough to do this fake "tune-up." Attached is a picture of my air intake. They tampered with the clamps, which you do not take off to remove this part. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!
