Tammie said it all in her review. This was an awesome event and I feel so honored to have…read moreexperienced it! If anyone ever asks you why San Antonio is known as "Military City USA" tell them about Honor Flight and the outpouring of love that SA citizens and the wonderful volunteers showed our veterans. 400 active duty Airmen and Airwomen showed up to welcome home the veterans, and it was quite impressive as they moved throughout the terminal. In addition to those 400, there were 500-600 citizens welcoming the veterans home. I know it sounds like a bunch of people to have huddled all together in our "smallish" airport, but it really was not bad at all. We got in and out with no problems, so you have no excuses to NOT attend the next one in September! It's things like this that make me say San Antonio por vida! I LOVE, LOVE my city!

What an awesome organization! Honor Flight San Antonio honors veterans from the San Antonio and…read moresurrounding areas every year by sending them to Washington DC to visit memorial sites dedicated in their honor. They first give priority to WWII vets and terminally ill veterans from any era, and then they add Korean War and Vietnam War vets as slots become available. Many people gather around for their departure and arrival flights to cheer and thank them for their sacrifice to this great nation. *Flight #008 Today a group of Yelpers/SA Explorers and I met up to welcome Flight #008 home, which consisted of 40 veterans (14-WWII, 13-Korea, and 13-Vietnam). This flight also had one POW veteran, one 100-year old veteran, and a WOMAN veteran! Yeay! It was so touching! Here is a link of the live stream today from their Facebook page of the welcoming: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1685187604890491&id=685158861560042 *Meeting Location:  The welcoming team meets at the San Antonio International Airport on the upper deck and is typically stretched from terminal A to terminal B to form a pathway of supporters on each side as veterans parade down the middle. It is a really cool experience to be a part of and means a lot to the veterans. Today the reception took place near United. [TIP: It's a good idea to stand towards the end of the welcome line so you can quickly follow behind the veterans for the reception and have a good spot to see and hear the welcoming ceremony.] *Arrival/Flight Info:  Follow their Facebook page for flight updates as most of their communication is via Facebook. Please note, there could potentially be a delay or early arrival and you may need to be flexible with time. Today the flight was slightly delayed and we did wait a very good while before the veterans were paraded down. You definitely have time to write on posters and such while waiting. Also, keep in mind there is little to no seating areas. Once they have landed, it can take roughly an hour to an hour and a half to parade the Vets down the terminal, and have the welcome home ceremony. Typically they will have a band, singers, and color guard etc... ********************************** ***Next Honor Flight Sept 7/8 *** ********************************** Really Y'all, the Honor Flight welcoming team is a great and free event to support. You will be blessed by the experience and will be so appreciated by our US Heros. Next Honor flight welcoming is scheduled for September 8th, 2018. Hope to see you there!

I was waiting in line for the restroom in SAKE when a girl pointed out to a friend and I that "this guy has a girls wallet, I think he stole it!". I tried reporting a man that was going through a Kate Spade wallet in a back corner next to the women's restroom in Sake. I reported it to bartender "A". Bartender "A" then pointed me out to the guy I reported saying that I reported the guy. THE GUY NEVER ASKED BARTENDER "A" WHO WAS REPORTING HIM, THE BARTENDER WILLING POINTED ME OUT, 2 FEET AWAY, NUMEROUS TIMES TO THE GUY THAT I WAS THE PERSON WHO REPORTED HIM. I was then accused of lying and trying to create a a problem, even though 4 other people saw it, by the guy who I was trying to bring attention to. The guy who had the kate spade wallet then came straight up to me, acting like I was trying to fight him as he said "you want to post up", when I was waiting in line for the restroom. I did report him, because no guy who wears sweat pants has a white colored Kate Spade wallet wristlet. When I was inline to use the restroom, a bartender from the vault (a very nice woman) had come to stand in line with us. I told her everything that had just happened, and she wanted me to point out bartender "A" to her so that she could say something. She agreed with me that the situation was not handled correctly She even apologized on his behalf and wanted to make sure she spoke with him. As we were trying to leave after using the restroom, Bartender "A" got in my face, AS HE STRETCHED HIS BODY OVER THE BAR to shove me to get my attention, to yell in my face as the female bartender was repeatedly telling him to leave me alone. I tried explaining myself telling him "I understand you're not the police, but you put myself and my friend at risk as your friend tried to post up to us". (The bartender admitted him and this guy were friends as he was yelling over me). When I tried sticking up for myself, another bartender "B" came up asking me if I had a problem (I appreciate them having each other's backs). I explained the situation to bartender B how bartender A told the guy who had a Kate Spade wallet that I was the person who reported him. Bartender B seemed to be listening and understanding, but I gave up half way through since Bartender A was still trying to yell at/over me. I told bartender B we will not be coming back. Bartender A was wearing a beanie this night, This all took place on January 13th from 1:30-1:50 AM if you as the manager/owner want to look on the cameras, We WILL NOT be going back, and I suggest you do not go either if you care about your safety and whether or not you think SAKE "cares" about it's customer's safety.
