I grew up in Santa Maria and this place was always the paragon of excellence, but I had never…read morestayed there. Cue to a few weeks ago my son and I got rooms there. We got rooms in the original part, and it's aged and refurbished time and time again visibly. No noise in the rooms which was nice and mine was fairly large, also nice. She took my information and told me my room was not ready. I asked if there was an estimate as to when it would be ready. She contacted housekeeping and her answer was, "they will call me". I told her I had a speaking engagement. That I was not pleased but I kept smiling. Nothing. I finally asked where the restroom was so I could change while waiting. She told me where it was and I went and changed. I am not happy. I came back. I sat down. I got someone's attention and asked if I could be told when the room would be ready. A few moments later the original young lady gave me my room key. It is pretty obvious that the room was almost done. A bit of effort on her part would have saved me from changing in the restroom. *sigh*
