Bay Hill Environmental - Bay Hill Environmental & Lead Paint Inspectors

Bay Hill Environmental

Where every other lead testing company created obstacles, these guys offered solutions. I needed to…read morehave the walls in my apartment tested, which requires x-ray fluorescence (XRF) because there are several layers of paint. Some companies wanted to charge thousands of dollars for a few scans with the XRF gun, others tried to convince me that surface wipes would be enough since they did not have the proper equipment. Only Ryan and his team made the process, quick, easy, and painless. They are all highly knowledgeable and professional. I will turn to them first for any lead checks needed in the future.

So happy I called Bay Hill Environmental! We recently moved into a house that was built in 1959…read more After spending 2 days sanding a room prepping to paint, we realized there was a chance the house had lead paint in it after incorrectly assuming our home inspection checked for this. Spoiler alert - it does not. In a panic we did one of those color changing home tests and it gave us a positive result for lead. Oh and I'm pregnant so I was in an absolute panic after this. When I called Bay Hill Environmental they answered right away and everyone I spoke with was so nice, knowledgeable, and accommodating. I explained the situation and how hysterical I was being pregnant and they sent an inspector out as soon as possible. Bill, our inspector was great, he was understanding, reassuring, professional, and extremely thorough! After about an hour we were beyond happy to learn that our home is certified lead free! This peace of mind was well worth the cost and I would strongly recommend this company to anyone! TLDR - Learn from my mistake and get your home inspected for lead if it was built before 1978 - it is not part of a standard home inspection and definitely use Bay Hill Environmental to get the job done!

I was very disappointed…read more The inspection report wasn't very useful. It just cataloged a long list of possible problems and said I should have each of them investigated by a qualified contractor. But of course hiring a qualified contractor to investigate each of the possible problems would have been completely impractical. The report seemed to be mostly an exercise in protecting themselves legally. For the customer it didn't do much good. Although the inspector invited me to call him afterward to discuss the report, which probably would have helped, he was never available. Also, their office was very difficult to deal with, providing conflicting information depending on whom I spoke with. Afterward the company asked me to complete a customer survey, where I described my complaints. The survey's automated response said "We want to make this right" or something to that effect, but instead the owner sent me a hostile email arguing that none of my complaints was legitimate. A very disappointing experience all in all.

(Unsure of her name) in the Marlton NJ office, then I had a few questions for her. Unfortunately, your rep has the worst attitude I have encountered from any business in nearly 12 years. She couldn't answer a single question with a definitive answer & seemed annoyed from the moment she called. I would suggest to either never have her call customers until her attitude is better and retrain her on simple answers to questions that MOST customers would have regarding home inspections in NJ or remove her from your business altogether. I had simple questions regarding inspection process. 1. She is not informed on why there is different pricing & 2.Her condescending nasty "I'm better than you" tone is disgusting. If this is how she treated me, imagine how many other potential customers she has chased away with her attitude & being uniformed on matters that concern your practice. My ENTIRE family has used your company over the years & we have made tons of referrals to your company. NONE OF US until today has had a bad thing to say about your company. I find her customer interaction horrifying. I'm in the process of writing to corporate about my initial interaction with your company's service. As a service to you, I hope you use my interaction with her as a tool to teach future employees the goal of customer service & satisfaction. Update: I spoke with Greg (Manager?) from Willow Grove & he offered complete professional courtesy that I expected from PTP. He was horrified & sincere. Although I will not use PTP this time but because of Greg I will reconsider using PTP again in the future. He's a keeper. lol

Indoor Air Testing and Asbestos Inspection Services

I found Kevin on a Google search. Even though he is basically on the other side of NJ, he was…read morewilling to come out and do a test of our air as we just got done with having our asbestos removed. He was easy to contact via email, quoted a reasonable price, and we were able to set an appointment the next day. He arrived on time and was very professional throughout. He explained how his test was even more thorough than the abatement's company's test, as his actually would specifically ID asbestos fibers (vs a general fiber test the other company did). You can tell he knows what he is talking about. The test took two hours and I was able to work while Kevin filled out paperwork in his car. He contacted me the next day with the test results, and also sent me a certificate from the lab and his summary showing the air was clean. Note that Kevin only does the air testing (not the removal) and I used him as a second opinion to ensure the air was clean as asbestos is nothing to mess with! I would definitely recommend his company to anyone wanting to test their environment post abatement.

Mastertech Environmental - Mold Removal Prep

Mastertech Environmental

Five enthusiastic stars!…read more A water leak from above my home office caused some damage to the ceiling and wall. The cause was remediated but the dampness in the room was not improving. We called MasterTech Environmental for an air quality test and moisture assessment. Tom Duff was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. The air quality test showed no airborne mold, but the dampness in the ceiling was of concern. His team came out to remove parts of the drywall to assess for mold. Trace amounts of black mold were uncovered along with quite a bit of white mold. The team quickly removed all affected drywall and insulation. When I tell you these guys are thorough and work clean, I mean it. Tony, etc were meticulous with closing off the affected areas for safety and ensuring no mess was left behind. There wasn't an ounce of dust anywhere. It was as if they were never here! MasterTech Environmental does not replace the dry wall, but they recommended an incredibly reliable contractor who did. He also worked exceptionally clean and had my office back to normal in 2 days. Diane in the office is a sweetheart and her communication was second to none. She kept me updated on everything and ensured I received detailed reports complete with photos for insurance claims. Pricing was upfront and fair and they provide a 5 year guarantee on their work. I cannot recommend this wonderful business enough. They will take excellent care of you and your home!

Mourning the loss of my stuff but happy to breath more freely. My childhood home had a mold…read moresituation that had been developing slowly for some time. While I wanted to get it fixed the prices I was given by other supposedly reputable companies in the area were astronomical. I delayed until I was given a realistic estimate from Mastertech. That is not to say it was cheap but reasonable by comparison. I was especially impressed when getting my estimate that I was being listened to and not talked at. The guys who came to my house were friendly and professional. They sent up a containment area so the rest of the house was safe from the work area. It only took a few days to clean out and clean up 40+ years of stuff in the basement. Now I have a perfectly clean and empty basement. Oh ,and I have a certificate stating my house was clean. Now for a side note to people like me who honestly don't know what you got till it's gone.....I will say that you must (let me emphasize this) must know what you want to keep before they start clearing out your stuff. They will save what you say you want to keep and anything they deem valuable like silverware or family photos If they can. They we're thorough and I was naive and didn't think they would toss out my closed plastic bins of media or a sculpture I made. This is not their fault. What one seems valuable is subjective and I should have been more diligent in checking on what I wanted to keep. Now, let's all have a moment of silence for the gargoyle I made in high school. They did an excellent job making my basement and crawl space mold free.
