We've rented from American Dream Vacations in Albuquerque before without major issues, but this last experience was so bad, we'll never return. The fridge in the trailer didn't work from the moment we started loading groceries. When we contacted them, they said we could meet them somewhere to fix it--but we were already headed out of town, so that wasn't realistic. Then, on our first morning camping, the propane system failed completely. No cooking, no hot water. After troubleshooting with them over the phone, we had to drive over 2.5 hours round trip to buy a camp stove and supplies. They said they'd reimburse us, but after four weeks and multiple follow-ups, we had to go back and get the camp stove and return it ourselves. We paid full price for a trailer that was broken from the start and received no financial consideration for the major inconveniences. Completely unacceptable. DONT RENT UNLESS YOU WANT TO DIE I rented an RV from this place and have had so many issues from the beginning But the most serious issue is the Deadly Generator! (1) We discovered a gas leak because the refrigerator light was flashing. No carbon monoxide detectors are installed as a safety precaution (but my paperwork says there is one provided) (2) Discovered a huge hole underneath our bed where the generator is located. So the fumes leak into the RV when you turn on the generator for heat, electricity and or AC to function. Every time we would turn on the generator we would smell a sweet gas smell (generator is diesel) so we would shut it off because we were scared but couldn't figure out why the smell and where was it coming from, until finally we discovered that huge hole underneath the bed. We are only alive because we had to make other sleeping arrangements every night for the entire trip (12 days to be exact!) I am so disgusted with this company! Putting my Family life at risk! My 7yr old daughter! My 4lb toy poodle started throwing up the day we discovered the gas leak! Words Can Not describe how upset and disgusted I am with this company! American Dream Vacations in Albuquerque provided us with an excellent product and an awesome vacation experience. My husband and I were first time RV renters. Felicia and her crew were able to set us up with a very nicely appointed 32' motorhome. They even gave us an in depth orientation of all the many functions of the RV. Thanks to the checklist provided by Felicia, we were able to pack up the RV with all of the supplies we needed to be comfortable and prepared for the next three and a half weeks. On the road, the staff was available to help us with some of the minor snares we ran into while traveling so far. I always felt supported on our trip. One of the best parts was that our rental was pet friendly. It was great to have the companionship of our two small dogs while we traveled. Every step of the process was seamless for us and we were able to enjoy our time out on the road as a family. I would highly reccomend American Dream Vacations to anyone and everyone. We planned our July 23, 2021 New Mexico RV vacation in mid-April and had a class A motor coach arranged with an individual through Outdoorsy. Sadly, they sold their unit 6 weeks later and we were left scrambling. We settled for a 7-person box unit from Cruise America... wasn't terribly excited about it but it was gonna fill our need. Then, last minute, a 38' Class A unit became available thru American Dream Vacations (ADV). Their website description was exactly what we'd had earlier through Outdoorsy. We opted to forfeit the $300 deposit with Cruise America and signed on with ADV. We arrived in Albuquerque the afternoon of July 23 and picked up the unit around 3pm. Even prior to leaving there were issues getting the generator started and the cameras were inoperative. Finally left their place around 4pm on our way to Angel Fire in northern NM. Cameras quit working again, then we hit some heavy rain near Santa Fe. That's when our first experience with a leaking roof occurred, and it only got worse. I'll make it brief... this water experience was a disaster as we discovered that the full slide-out "topper" was missing from the unit. Of course it rained 5 of the 6 days we had this unit and inside water was a constant issue. Headlights flickered intermittently on our way into Eagles Nest and that was terrifying. First night in Angel Fire the Overnight temperature dipped into the 40s; that's when we discovered that the furnace did not work. Called ADV the next morning and their solution was to have us go buy some blankets. We had issues with the hot water heater leaking (outside); both side mirrors came loose and had to buy a set of Allen wrenches to tighten both of those. To ADV's credit, they did make a slight adjustment to our rental cost agreement... about $700. My displeasure and concern is that this particular unit SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN RENTED! Found out during our check-out process that ADV serves sort of as an AirBnB for RVs in the Albuquerque area; they apparently don't own these. They clearly also don't verify the road worthiness of the units they offer, but put it back on the owners to provide all the maintenance and making road worthy. This is where the issue lies... I think. ADV needs to be doing a better job of quality control... but I guess that's the same issue you'd have if renting a house or condo through AirBnB and the rood leaked, the furnace didn't work, the hot water heater leaked, etc. Don't know for sure, but ultimately the owner is likely responsible. Bottom line for us regarding this experience: * the ADV folks tried their best, I think. * they tried to make it right by refunding some of the cost * the lesson I've learned is to ask questions about the prior 3-5 rentals and any issues reported... and hope they are transparent and honest in their responses * we've rented our first ...and last...RV. read more

This is one of the worst dream RV anyone can imagine. The RV provided to us is worst than a trash truck. We literally had serious injuries while traveling. The management also tricked us in to signing the documents for a old RV. The manager was very rude and wasn't considerate about the issues we reported, instead they kept the deposit and charged more for the already broken equipment they had. Please beware of the manager "Felicia" who has poor work ethics and can mislead you with false promises (never seen such a lady). Do not under any circumstances rent from them. We had to leave Grand Canyon and drive to Flagstaff and pay for a toilet that failed and my husband had to change it out. Now in Zion and a/c out - they did not respond and mailbox full. My dog overheated. Renter beware, I rented a class A motor home from American Dream Vacations for the 2017 Balloon Fiesta. Unfortunately the unit I was given had a depleted house battery so the heater & fridge would cut off every night. I didn't get a full nights sleep the entire 5 nights because once the battery depleted the alarm on the fridge started beeping and I would have to start the engine and run it to get it recharged enough to run the heater. They came out several times to try and fix it but didn't figure out what was wrong. I ultimately figured it out Saturday night but they were closed Saturday night and all day Sunday so I had 2 more nights dealing with the problem. I requested a refund using the form they provided, however they've refused to respond. So I wanted to let you know to be very careful renting from them, if you have a problem they'll ignore your request for refund. Lesson learned, not renting from them again. This was the first time we were renting an RV and we did have an awesome vacation in the RV that we got. They were helpful when we called in between and made changes to our plans. The price and pick up and drop off times were comparable to the other places. This is a professional place. And they are very friendly and helpful. They follow through. The vehicle was ready when we arrived, except the propane was not full. No problem. They have a filling tank right on site. They made sure every aspect of the rental was working to our satisfaction before we drove off. And to make sure there were no disagreements they closely documented with photographs and notes the state of every aspect of the rv. When we returned they did that all in reverse order, made sure we were in agreement about all the details, didn't charge us for the propane we used, and apologized that the waste tank tube had cracked. It took a little longer than quoted to get our deposit back. But at the end of the day, it only took us asking about status once, and they took care of it quickly. Full refund. No nickel and dime-ing for normal stuff. Was it perfect? Well there were those small hiccups. But they treated us right and made good. Which is about all you can ask for. read more

Signed up to rent our unit out, and barely broke even, plus it was wrecked. Their vendor had it for 3 months, and supposedly charged $25,000 for repairs, but nobody had a copy of the repair invoice, only the adjusters estimate. Their tire vendor wanted $1800 for tire which I bought through Big O for half the price. If you rent your unit through them, make sure you do not use their vendors for repairs. Their insurance is expensive, and apparently does'nt cover anything if your rig is hit. Lesson learned. The attitude is that you surrender ownership when you sign up to rent your unit. I consider myself lucky to have gotten my rig fixed, and would not recommend doing business with them. read more

When booking a motorhome for a one week rental in Albuquerque, NM, I told the company that we wanted to go to Chaco Canyon and we would be dry camping most of the week. The motorhome was not capable of that and was generally in poor repair. i.e. A screen fell out of a window before we left the city. The front tires wore beyond safe use withing 150 miles on highway driving. Coach door lock wouldn't open from outside and we had to remove it in order to use the coach entry door. A piece of a window frame came off in my hand the first time I opened a sliding window. The cups were paper and the dishes were flimsy plastic. The handle came off the large fry pan and there was no cover for it. The furnace would not run the entire night after boosting the batteries to 100% before retiring and setting the thermostat at 55 degrees. I was told about the rough road to Chaco Canyon and it would be OK to drive it if keeping the speed between10 and 15 mph. I drove that road under 10 mph and would never do that again in a motorhome. If I were an owner, I would not permit anyone to drive that road in my motorhome. There were other things I could also talk about but you get the idea. I still have not been able to get my $500 deposit back after more than 3 weeks. The manager said they couldn't do repairs immediately because they had to continue renting the unit and that after the rentals that they would do repairs and refund the remainder of my deposit. The windshield did have 2 small chips in it when I returned and I did not check the windshield before leaving so it is possibly my responsibility. The "T" handle also broke off the greywater valve when I pulled it to dump the tank. I will take responsibility for that as well - reluctantly. I have to wonder how they could continue renting that unit with a door that won't lock and in need of a front end alignment. This serves as a warning to be very careful when considering renting with this company. Read the contract thoughly and carefully as there are inconsistancies in it. read more

We were planning a camping trip and usually stay in a family members camper. I have three kids, so that was not working. We needed our own space. We had been looking at purchasing a camper trailer for a few years, but have yet to pull the trigger. One day I googled camper trailer rentals. I couldn't believe a place like existed. I went online and checked out the goods. They have a wide variety recreational vehicles to choose from. I made the reservation and that was it. I booked out a few months. A few weeks later I started to think about what kind of condition the camper will be in. Is it going to be a piece of junk? So I packed up the family and we went to go see if we could look at the camp I reserved. The camper happened to be in that weekend and the staff was happy to let us go inspect, I mean, take a gander. The camper was in pretty good condition. It wasn't perfect, but then again if if I owned a trailer there would be broken pieces anyway. The day came and we were ready to get on the road. We arrived in the morning and waited. They seemed to be pretty busy. This was during balloon fiesta. We waited a couple of hours for the camper. It seemed excessive. When it was finally our turn they went over their thorough walk through. I pretty much know what is involved from camping with family. I was ready to go. We got the camper hitched up and we hit the road. Half way to our destination, I noticed that there was no battery! I just stares at the empty cavity where there should of been a battery and scratched my head. Could it of fallen out? Was it tied down? Did I even get one? So I called them immediately. They were asking where I was. They were ready to bring a battery to my camp site. I thought that was pretty cool. I told them that I was going to an established camp site, so I didn't really need the battery. When we were set up there were some minor inconveniences that you would expect to encounter with someone's camper. The hose for the fresh water didn't have gasket. Luckily I was camping with a group and someone had an extra hose gasket. Next time I will know what little things to bring with me. Now for the part everyone talks about. The return and the deposit! You may be asking, "What about the battery?" Well, they forgot to put the battery back and had it there at the shop. None of us even noticed that a battery was missing. Overall we had a great experience. The check in was pretty easy. A month went by and noticed that I never received my deposit back. I had to call them and ask for it. They were helpful and quickly returned it my card. I don't understand why they just couldn't do it right away. Go figure. So, if find yourself needing to rent a recreational vehicle this is probably one of the few places you can do that. They are worth a try. I'll still be nervous about the deposit next time I rent. Absolutely terrible. These crooks are the worst kind. They perform shady business vetted at getting your money for doing absolutely nothing. False damage claims and terrible customer service. They fabricate complete lies about supposed damage to the drive train that occurred on I-25 driving to and from the Balloon Festival. I'm not even sure how that's possible on the highway. When we checked out the RV they film the current condition from a distance so you can't identify any existing damages, then on check out, they are over-the-top meticulous. Pointing out smudges on the wheel rim and saying that that's where we curb-checked it apparently which will require a whole new alignment. A smudge that wiped off with my finger. It wiped off. That's like claiming body damage because of insects in the grill. Take your business somewhere else. I don't understand how anyone could rate these guys 5 stars. I can only think that they are employed by the company or are bots. The Hegarty's seems to have an honest opinion of them. And I checked out the BBB just like they suggested and sure enough, outstanding claims and an 'F' rating. Run, RUN, RUNNNNN! Find somewhere else to take your business. It's also curious that the rating system shows a 3.2 even though at the time of this post, there were (3) "people" with 5 stars and (6) actual people with 1 star. The rental process was fine but the security deposit has been a hassle to get back. We called after 15 days of our $500 deposit not being returned. American Dream Vacation said it would be 10 business days and this is a lie. They said we would receive an email with in the next hour after we called and this did not happen. To bad they have less than desirable business practices, still waiting for the refund. I will keep calling until this is made good. The funny thing is the manager asked us to review them on Yelp when we turned the RV in as she stated they have had bad reviews in the past, gee I wonder why. We rented a motor home from American Dream Vacations. The staff was not familiar with our specific vehicle which caused us difficulty with heat, propane and use of the generator. This was confirmed by the male staff who checked us in. Worse was they kept our $500 damage deposit without giving us a copy of the repair order/receipt. The part in question (I am pretty sure we did not do the damage) on line was much less than $500. We were unable to use the television and radio due to a broken antenna which the owner did and never repaired. The initial dealings with this company was OK, the RV was as expected. The problem was they did not return my $500 deposit within 10 business days as was clearly stated in the signed paperwork. I called over 6 times, finally talked to one sales person who told me the reason was there was "damage". There was no damage to the RV, the "damage" was to a hand towel. First off, we had a very positive experience with this business and I would rent from them again as well as recommend them. After reading their reviews, I was panicked about renting from them because I had already put down my deposit (I know...hindsight). I always use review to help make decisions with businesses I am unfamiliar with but jumped the gun on this one. I questioned them about the negative reviews and they explained that all the negative reviews were less than 1% of their rentals. As a business owner, I understand how an unhappy (and most times unreasonable) person will go WAY out of their way to leave a negative review. I understood this and decided to go with them as I had a good feeling about them and my phone conversation with my agent Felicia. We had reserved a 35ft RV for 8 days and no matter how prepared I thought I was, we just couldn't get ready fast enough. I asked if we could push our reservation back a day and to my surprise they said no problem and no fees. We arrived to pick up the RV and it was just as described and the photos. A technician named Tito walked us around the vehicle showing us how everything worked, confirmed (for out benefit) everything was included. He also took time to point out some minor scuffs and scratches to show us they were aware of them. They offered a driving test but I felt confident enough to decline. They guided us to an easy Target off the freeway and we were off. We had trouble with the automatic leveling jacks the first night. I emailed Felicia and within an hour I was speaking with a technician who walked me though how to reset them and even sent me a Youtube video. After that, no more problems and we were level. When we returned, I had already prepaid for the cleaning/dumping fee. We are pretty clean people so I really wasn't too worried but still didn't want to do it. I had read reviews that mentioned they made up damage and tried to keep the deposit or part of it. I saw nothing farther from the truth. We were met by two very friendly techs, Mike and Tito again. They went over every aspect of the RV to make sure we hadn't run it into a tree, gone offloading with it or who knows what else they've seen. They were courteous, professional and easy to work with. There was no nit picking involved and gave us a "perfect condition". My family had a great vacation and I'm thankful for the ability to rent a nice RV and have a great time. We received a refund of our deposit and the unused miles we had repurchased with no complaints or issues. read more

Terrible experience. As an earlier reviewer stated, they are denying a refund of my deposit. However, if you review their own terms and conditions for rv rentals, there is nothing stated about what happens if you cancel a reservation. My request to cancel was less than 24 hours of reserving it and they are claiming that per their terms, you forfeit the deposit if you cancel. I requested proof of that, they sent me a very dubious form that states that, however, the form they sent requires a signature, and I never signed any documents. All documents they sent me when I reserved online, none of them state their cancelation policy. read more

They will charge you for damage that you had nothing to do with. My wife and I were driving in our rental RV when there was a very loud bang. The arm that holds the retractable awning closed suddenly shot out to its full length, while we were doing 55 mph. I hit the brakes, but before I could get stopped the arm hit a tree by the side of the road. A bolt had failed on the piece that holds the arm closed. We had nothing to do with it; we never even used the awning. Now they want us to pay $1,000 for it, and won't return our damage deposit. We rented a RV from American Dream Vacation on 10/29 Long story short when we pick up our RV on the 29th of October and Jacob added our generator on at last minute when we previously spoke that week about making sure the generator was added to the reservation.. He started the generator to show me how it works "He did not hook it up directly to the RV" to make sure it will run everything I was told it would run .. He also had me place it between the bed and wall so that it is safe while traveling . Which I did. We got to Eagle Nest that night and hooked up the generator and it would not stay on longer than 20 mins smoke was even coming out of it. So @ 7am the next morning I emailed Felicia , Jacob and Hannah about the generator not working. "NO Reply" so I waiting until they opened and spoke to Jacob about it not working he apologized and said he would talk to the mechanic and try to see what we could do. They had us to some steps that didn't work so I kept calling and then they wouldn't answer my calls I left messages for them to call me back that the generator was not working.. and Nothing no one would call me back or answer the phone . So when we got back and returned the RV & generator Jacob apologized again and said that we will not be charged for the generator that he was sorry we had to go through all that .. and that he would email us the close out paperwork. Which we did NOT receive. A WEEK later American Dream call me and says that I broke the generator and and that I do not get my deposit back and that I am reasonable to pay 600 dollars to them to get it repaired.. I went in to the office Felica and her Husband accused me of dropping the generator and that it "must" have rolled over while i was driving which I'm 100% sure it did NOT. She supposedly had the repair paperwork in her hand and refused to make me a copy she just kept on saying I will email it, which I did not receive until 3 days later and it was a something they typed up on word. Nothing from a company stating what was wrong with the generator or the repairs. they did not want to acknowledge that I spoke to them Oct 30th in Eagle Nest about the generator Not working they told me that the voicemail I left on the 30th would have been deleted that night on the 30th "Of Course" Felicia and her Husband have this routine with people and there sticking to it.. We didn't get no where with them talking about the FACTS on Nov 11th they were ignoring everything and just saying I owe them $600 bucks and they did not give me back my deposit of $200.. I wish i would have read the reviews before hand because they obviously have a record of doing this to people .. read more

BEWARE! BEWARE! BEWARE! In theory, I thought it woul be a great idea to rent a trailer or pop-up for a once a year camping trip. I would never do this again through this company. First, I deliberately brought the vehicle I would be towing in, to see what would be a SAFE set-up. I made a reservation, and on the morning of the day I was to pick up, I was told that the trailer I reserved had a broken fridge. With the trailer they tried to get me to pay more for, I was told that it was about the same size and it would still be safe to tow. When I left the yard I could not see anything next to me, which made any merging/lane changes completely blind. I specifically asked if any additional equipment was needed to tow these trailers and I was told "no". I asked several people that were knowledgeable about towing/RV and they all said it was an unsafe set-up. By this time it was too late to return before close of business. The next day, we were given a pop-up (for the same price as the nicer trailer). Approx. 1 hour after we left the yard, the propane tank cover flew off on the Big I into traffic. This very nearly caused an accident. I called immedately to let them know and they let me know that I would be held responsible for the loss but to go ahead and have a nice vacation. During our trip, (which started a day late due to the change) we were not given a full tank of water and we ran out. We could not use the heater because it took too much force to move the lever and we did not want yet another repair to pay for. There were other issues as well. The deposit of $200.00 was supposed to be refunded 10 business days after return. It is now 15 days into it and I am getting the run around from the company. I also requested to have the charges adjusted to the vehicle that we actually rented, which was $20.00 less/day. (Not even asking to be refunded for the first wasted day) The manager has proven to be quite unreachable and now on to corporate. I will update this review as events happen, but no one should have to spend their vacation thinking about how much they are being ripped off. It taints the entire experience... read more

We had rented from them in the past and had good experiences. The last time in June was a total nightmare. First, we were told we could pick up our unit at 3:00 pm. We did not get our unit until 6 pm. When they would call the techs to see what was going on, they were told it would be a few more minutes. This happened multiple times until 6 pm. Thinking back on it, obviously they were having problems but we were never told that. We got the unit and drove to Santa Fe to load our belongings. The refrigerator was not working. We called them and their tech said to push the button on the inverter. We did that and thought our problem was solved. Got back to Albuquerque where we were attending a dog show. Checked the refrigerator and not working still and inverter has an error reading. Called again to their office and the tech again said to push the button on the inverter. This went on for the whole weekend. We would constantly get an error reading on the inverter. We were literally not that far away from them and they couldn't just tend someone out to check what was happening. We were connected to electricity and the refrigerator did not work. Obviously, there was something wrong with the inverter. Also on the way back down to Albuquerque the engine light came on. When we told them that, they informed us we went over 65 miles an hour and that's why the engine light came on. Well, driving up to Santa Fe from Albuquerque the unit was driven over 65 miles an hour and the engine did not come on. Also, there is no indication in the unit that it should not be driven over 65. We also had problems with the air conditioners in the unit. We were running both as we were sitting in 106 degree heat and trying to cool down the unit. One froze up so only running one in the front of the unit. It did not produce enough cold air to cool the unit down. We talked to them about that and were told we could only run one unit. They said it like we should have known. Again, no indication in the unit about only running one air conditioning unit and no said that when we picked up the unit. We called multiple times on Saturday trying to get issues resolved. Called on Sunday multiple times and left messages and no one ever returned our calls. We also emailed Chantel and Felicia multiple times and got no response. The final straw is when we could not get the slide out back in, even connected the electricity. We were in 106 degree heat with dogs. Luckily, we had driven a van down with the motor home. We had to make 2 trips back and forth to Santa Fe to get our dogs and equipment back. We did not get home until midnight. We left the unit in Albuquerque. We had to pay for an extra night of parking the RV at the fairgrounds. During all this time on Sunday we were sending numerous emails to Chantel and Felicia with the indication it was an emergency. No one responded to any of our emails. The email that they said to use on their voice mails kept bouncing back as undeliverable. I filed a claim with Felicia. That took her a long time to respond to and then she offered a couple days free rental. We told her we were not interested in renting from them again and that would not work. I suggested, maybe, give us a refund of 2 days' rental. Felicia has never responded to us to this date. At this time we would not recommend renting from these people. read more

My family rented a travel trailer and originally had a great experience. Everyone was friendly and thorough with the walk through. The camper was great and fit our needs. On our trip home, we had a blowout on one of the trailer tires. We weren't on a rough road and hadn't run over anything to cause the flat tire - we were on a normal highway. We spent a lot of time and money to repair the flat, having to locate a jack and tire iron that would work since one was not provided with the rental. American Dream was contacted while this was going on and they were very nice, but no help at all. We were on our own. When we returned the rental, again, very nice, and said they had the supplies to fix the minor damage that was caused. The other tire that we didn't have a problem with was very worn after inspection. We prayed the entire way back that it didn't blow out too. We pointed this out upon the return. We left, and now, almost a YEAR later, we received notice that American Dream had contacted our insurance company with a claim. We were not contacted AT ALL from AD - our insurance company contacted us about the claim. It seems they went behind our backs trying to get money from our insurance company. When that route didn't work from them, they have now sent a bill to us for over $600. We are disputing it because we did nothing wrong in the first place. Worst case - they should just keep our deposit (which they already did anyway after numerous attempts at getting it back). They just ignored our attempts when called about the deposit and now a YEAR later are trying to collect over $400 more. It's very disappointing that they would tack on "administrative charges" of over $100 as well as other charges that do not apply. And a year later? What's the thinking in waiting that long to address this? I would not rent from this company again. We sang their praises at first but after the back-handed way they have handled this, it is not worth going through all the trouble. Reading complaints on the Better Business Bureau's website, this company has done this sort of thing before. Shop around. It looks like alot of customers never get their deposits back, so that is an issue from the very beginning. read more

This business model is flawed and In retrospect I am grateful that we didn't have any major problems but I thank my lucky stars and will NEVER do business with this company again. Fist of all think about what this company does. They rent out RV's that are owned by individuals. RV's by their very nature are to be used as a traveling home. You CAMP in them and you DRIVE them on the road. This company's loyalty and interests are to themselves and the RV owner. This presents an adversarial relationship between you and them. In fact, in the return of your vehicle check sheet, it says something about their attorney. So when you arrive to pick up the vehicle they video tape the interior and exterior and they hand write a form with every little detail that is wrong with the vehicle. Mind you we rented a 2007 20 ft. RV. It had lots of wear. The decals were wearing off, the curtains were all ripped, the trim around the front windshield had been repaired but it was not fixed properly, etc. this was all minor to me because the vehicle was generally clean and ready for an outdoor trip. Well, I should have paid better notice because they want you to return the van without ANY changes or perhaps in better condition. I was going to return it just as it was, but we went to a car wash and washed and vacuumed it. Boy am I glad that we did. Even with that. They marked it as "dirty." Then they documented smudges that were microscopic on the exterior and interior. Come on now!!! This is beyond ridiculous. I surmise that they get owners to sign up for their program promising unreasonable returns and so they nickel and dime the renters to cover ALL upkeep. There has to be a happy medium. When the vehicles come back they should be looked over and checked for any obvious wrecked damage but everything else should be part of the wear and tear. PERIOD. You are running a rental agency. You have to plan on upkeep. Either increase the prices or decrease your profit to cover upkeep. A person can't drive 1000 miles without having the van get covered in bugs or weather a hail storm without getting the van a bit dirty or even get a chip somewhere. Their cheapness and lack of understanding of the renters experience left me with a bad taste in my mouth. They seemed to completely forget that we were on vacation. As, I said in the first sentence thank goodness that nothing major happened because I can tell that they would be horrible to work with. Renter BEWARE! read more

Horrible Customer Service experience. We waited all day to pick up our rental, only to be told that we were out of luck because the one we had rented was broken and they were completely out of all the others. If they had told us at the beginning of the day that there was an issue, we could have chosen a different unit, but because they waited until 5 minutes before closing, they sold them all out. We were left without an RV for our vacation because of their mis-communication and disorganization. Then when we became upset by their non-nonchalant attitude, they kicked us out and told us we would have our $1500 deposit back in 10 business days. We ended up with no RV and $1500 taken out of our account for 10 days when they returned it to us. I would not recommend this company to anyone. read more

Extremely beware!!! Go ahead take the risks if you wish! Horrible ever places to choose from for your "American Dream Vacations". It was totally a night mare for us here to learn, by the hard way :( We had paid big bucks for the rental. Vehicle was broken down during the trip. No support was available over the weekend! I would have to agree with Richard V. and other posters that have been waiting on their $500.00 security deposit. It has been over thirty days since dropping off the RV, and American Dream Vacations still has not returned our money. They say they will "review the video" to see if any damage occurred during your rental - they do not say when they will review it. However, in the drop-off report it becomes clear that their idea of "damage" also seems to include the minor nicks and scuffs that any rental car company would consider normal wear and tear. In addition, you the customer do not get to see this before and after video - only they review it. On top of all this, this particular unit was far from pristine when we got it - it only got worse when we hit the road. Almost immediately we noticed that the suspension was extremely sensitive to any minor bump or crack in the road. This caused the kitchen unit to vibrate with such ferocity that the noise was unbearable. Our kids had their ears covered for most of the trip. During the drop-off their techs admitted that this was a "known" problem with this unit! Well, it wasn't made known to us when they gave us the unit! Then we discovered that the waste pipe had a leak - the park rangers at our campground really didn't like that! Bottom line - this RV should have never been offered to a customer in this condition. And now to hold on to the security deposit on top of all this - disgraceful. read more

I will never be doing business with American Dream Vacations. Unfortunately, I was not even able to have a rental experience with this company as they overbooked the RV that I reserved. They deducted the $300 deposit from my account, sent me a confirmation number via email and then sent me another email informing me that my rental had been changed and I needed to contact them. When I called them I was told that another person and I had rented at the same time so they had to cancel my reservation. However, they did not refund my $300 immediately, I would have to wait at least 24 hours. I was told that it wasn't their fault, the system accidently booked twice. NOT my problem. The system should not be able to take two deposits on the same RV. The only other RV they had available for my timeframe that slept more than five was more costly. I asked if they would come down on the rental price (since their system had overbooked and deducted the deposit from my account already). They said no. If a company that overbooked and took my deposit is unwilling to work with me on anything then I am unwilling to ever do business with them again, nor will I ever refer them to anyone and will inform everyone I know that doing business with them is not a good idea. read more
