I have not only received exceptional service on the personal level but the challenged clients that I have brought to to the bank have received the same professional service from Amie and staff. They are always friendly and professional.

I've been doing business with First National Bank here in Miami since I was 15, so 21 years. a four wheeler, a few car loans and a couple of home refinances which brings us to about 5 years ago. I was just coming out of a relationship and fell onto some difficult times so much so that a truck, which was through the dealership, had gotten repossessed as well as my credit score dropping drastically as to be expected. during this time I had made an effort to support our local bank, kept in contact even personally went in and talked to the VP about everything that was going on and the hardships that I had been going through all while still keeping up on my payments, aside from maybe 30 days late, but still put forth my best effort to stay in good standings with our local bank. fast forward a few years I had finally found light at the end of the tunnel and finances were being taken care of and so I made another appearance and spoke with the VP and still once again explained everything to him as well as having the money to pay off a loan that I had with them the entire time. I ask the VP what I could do to show good faith and he informed me that I could switch over to a secured loan, I'm guessing so they could collect interest on me rather than just paying off the loan, and so I did. approx 2 years later with my credit coming back up but still not that great I go in to try to get a loan for a $6000 truck for transportation and as expected I got denied because my score was too low. I can mildly understand that so okay. well 6 months later with a credit score that qualifies, I go in and ask for a loan on some commercial property, ask for around 30% less than the property is worth as well as my now wife on the application with me with a reasonable debt to income ratio and I get denied. after 20+ years of business and making sure I communicated while still managing to keep the local bank paid, I get denied. the property was worth approx 90,000 and I was asking for 65k plus they also wanted my home for collateral which would make it under 30% of the value and they came back and said that they could give me 40,000..... very aggravating so please consider this if you think that helping support a local business or more so First National Bank.

They then said, "Gee, sorry, there's nothing we can do about it now." Nightmare. A few weeks ago, I tried to cash an ENDORSED check from my husband drawn on our JOINT account and the middle-age cashier demanded that he be there in person to "verify" it. omg the lunacy. The employees are incredibly slow and clueless. The 32nd Street branch is abominable . AVOID IT.

I tried to make a payment change online only to find out that at Arvest, this is not possible. Arvest requires that all changes to payment sources require that the customer fill out a paper form with signature for any payments and this includes updating expiring credit card payments. To make matters worse, the form come in the mail in 5-7 days and then must be mailed back making the conversion time as long as 2-4 weeks. With every other bank in the US (that I know of), payments can be changed on line without the contact and assistance of personal customer service help by logging in online, entering payment updates, and hitting the "OK" button. With Arvest it means calling their customer service number, going through robots asking multiple questions, getting put on hold for 15 minutes and finally getting to talk to a human at which time the reason for the call has to be repeated, explained and if lucky, getting to someone competent to complete the request. In my case, no such luck. I was told that the paper form would be sent to me via mail and I asked if they could also send via email (email has now been in use for 30 years but Arvest prefers paper, envelopes and stamps) and as of today those letters and emails never came. I this that Arvest should consider moving into a business more aligned with their internal talents and capabilities such as a lemonade stand that only accepts cash and exact change only. At the end of each day, they can fill their paper bank rolls of pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters light grandma did back in the 1960's. I believe that they can do this well. Otherwise, my suggestion is to work with organizations like Chase, BOA, Wells Fargo and others. Arvest is just not good at banking.

I may be partially at fault for not checking my account as often as I should have, as I usually have a very big cushion in this account with student loans and saving from work, but after moving and changing my address, they were still sending notifications to my old address. I have been in and out of ER and Dr appointments with my daughter, started intense classes this summer, and with my move, I have been beyond overwhelmed with how busy I have been. I think you may know where I am going with this... So my account touched the floor, and after a few(5) petty transactions of around $5, I end up getting $150 fees in the past 5 days!! I called and explained my situation and had zero sympathy or understanding. I then went to a branch and explained that I have really been in a bad situation, my mail is going to the wrong place, and that I just need a break this one time as my account has ALWAYS been in good standing. NOPE! They showed no leniency for my mistake and lost me and my respect today. Any time people mention this bank to me in the future, I will repeat the horrible customer service I received today. There is no corporate office for Community Bank and Trust. This is just a dead end bank that does not care about their customers. Whether or not I was responsible fully or at least partially for this mistake, I expected a bit more compassion for my error in a rough patch in my life after being such a loyal customer with a high average balance and no previous mistakes.
