I wasn't overwhelmed the last two times I was here but last night bowled me over. After having a couple of beers at Last Wave Brewery we needed to grab something to eat. It was 6pm on a Friday night and we know Amendment has a good beer selection so my brother and I popped in. Being a rather small place the bar was packed so we sat at the last high top available. Drew our waiter was superb. He must have been on roller skates because every time you turned around he was there. We ordered a couple of beers and decided on burgers. I ordered an A1 burger and that's what it was; A1. It consisted of, I confess I don't remember if it was Kobe beef but beef and also 30% pork belly topped with a fried egg. It was incredible!!! I never expected this but maybe the best burger I've had since I can remember. I'm still in shock. You've got to try their burgers. My bro got a different burger and loved it as much as I did. We were there for late breakfast. I ordered the "Corned Beef Hash and Poached Eggs".... well, it was a plate full of potatoes and few pieces of corned beef...I was very disappointed. I'm giving it 2 stars for the cool hipster-rustic decor and the service, which was fairly attentive, including the clearing of plates. However, the food was disappointing for each one of our party of 3. My Cowboy Burger was probably the least disappointing. The burger itself was properly cooked (med. well, as I requested) however the two strips of bacon looked like they'd been cooked the day before, and not even warmed up. Pretty gross, so I took them off (I mean, who doesn't eat bacon when they order bacon?!). My son's Steak Frites was ordered rare. It was pink inside, but almost burnt on the outside. The "frites" were tasty, well-seasoned, and crispy for each of us. My husband's Fish & Chips was the worst. Just looking at it, the fish looked overcooked and/or previously cooked. I want you to visualize this--- he needed a KNIFE to cut the fried fish. He barely got through eating one of the three filets (kind of digging out the fish from the crust), before quitting and just feasting on the chips/fries/frites. Each of us left a good portion of our meals uneaten, and were offered boxes for take home, but when we declined, none of us were asked if the meals were OK. Honestly, we probably wouldn't have said anything anyway. If we have to tell you that the bacon is old, the steak is burnt, and the fish is fried solid, there's probably not much you can offer to make it better. read more

Solid experience at Amendment 21 on Saturday! My group of seven arrived around 1:30 and it was fortunately pretty quiet at that time. We grabbed a long table and our server was great and really on top of multiple drink orders the entire time we were there. Though I didn't partake, their beer list was really solid and my friends were happy with the seasonal options. We ordered the chips, salsa and guac to start, which took the edge off but wasn't anything special. It was good that we kept it light for the starters, though, because the sandwiches were served on big trays with heaping piles of fries. My cowboy burger was cooked a perfect, juicy medium. Topped with bacon, cheddar, onion strings and bbq sauce, this burger was a splurge for sure. The fries alongside were fresh cut and delicious. They also offer a bunch of different fry variations including parmesan truffle and buffalo. As we finished eating, a bar crawl stumbled in and it got very loud. The food never came, the bartender who was also our server had a disgusting attitude and gave us more attitude when we asked about it even though it had been over an hour, and when we decided to leave and went to pay for just our drinks she ignored us and wouldn't look at us. Do not come here if you have any type of food allergy. Fully almost killed my friend. My friend called ahead to ask if they could accommodate her egg and shellfish allergy. They said yes, no problem. Clearly they lied. Their vegan option...not vegan. The bun had egg in it. Our server was attentive to the allergy, asking questions to confirm and checking with the kitchen. Once the food came out we asked for a manager. I'm not sure if a manager was even on duty, the staff looked confused when we asked to speak to a manager. A woman then came over and was rude. A man then came and covered our bill. They then ignored our table and appeared to have been talking about us behind the bar. It's someone's life and they weren't too concerned. Awesome spot, how refreshing for Point Pleasant. Space is tight, but very comfortable. It has that "hipster beer bar" feel, but is not at all gaudy or dirty. Wait staff was friendly, fast and informative. While there we had 15+ taps to chose from with solid craft options, even more were available by bottle. Impressive. Mixed drinks seemed solid, but I usually stick to beer. Food was great, I ordered wings and will be back for them soon. Prices were a bit of a premium, but well deserved. I had to go out to bufu NJ because my orthodontist splits his time between NJ and Boston. I started there with him, but now I am in Manhattan. So I have to come see him in NJ since it is technically closer. And if the train schedule causes me to come too early, I find restaurants to burn time. My manager suggested Amendment 21, and recommended their burgers. I came in at about 4'o clock yesterday, and there was 1 other person at the bar. The server/bartender was nice and attentive. I couldn't decide on which burger to choose. The guy at the bar and the bartender recommended the burger with fried egg, bacon, and pork belly in the burger (mixed with Angus). I believe it was called the A21. The burger looked great and they added about 10 servings of fries on the plate, so I was excited. But the fries weren't crispy at all, and were soggy with grease. So I looked for the smallest ones with a little bit of crispy. The burger had so much potential. But 1) When I cut the burger in half to eat, I expected the egg to run when I opened it. But the egg was fried too long, and it was the consistency of a hard boiled egg. Gross! 2) There was too much pork belly in the sandwich! I feel like there should be 80-85% angus, and 15-20% pork belly. I couldn't taste the difference between the slice of bacon and the burger. I ate about half the patty. And I love a salty sandwich, but it was a little overwhelming. The server was really nice so I give this establishment two stars. Hopefully there is another restaurant nearby for my next visit to the orthodontist. read more

Went out with my mom and sister for lunch. We were seated quickly and felt comfortable. After we gave our order not even a minute after the waiter put the ticket in we asked for an adjustment. We didn't think it would be a big deal but to the waiter it was. The waiter was extremely angry and threw our menus as he walked to the kitchen. We felt very uncomfortable and apologized for the change. Once we got our food we noticed something off about one of our dishes, it didn't smell right. The chicken in our grilled chicken Cesar salad smelt like feces. I've never experienced anything like this before and it was disgusting. The smell was overwhelming. I will not be returning and I really think management needs to train their staff better. read more

I was here recently with my daughter who lives very close, within easy walking distance so it was a quick choice for us. We had to put our names on a list, so we took a short walk to the nearby bookstore first. Table was ready in 30 minutes and I received a text quickly. We each ordered one of their cocktails. I had their Charred Lemon + Rosemary G+T $11.00 Brockmans Gin, muddled rosemary and charred lemon topped with tonic. It was a superior cocktail - mixed with perfect balance. We decided to order a few items to share; the pretzel without the specials, the chili-lime fries, the fried pickles and the Garlic Shrimp & Chips. Everything was outstanding! I live an hour away and crave my next order of those fries! Service was excellent as well. I only gave it 4 stars because honestly, I need to go back and have an entrée in order to gauge a fair review - but I'm almost sure I'll be modifying this to 5 stars! read more

Nice staff. TVs inside good atmosphere. The food is pretty good. The wings are delicious, sweet potato fries are delicious, the calamari is the worst I have ever had. There is 0 calamari, it is all breading and extremely bland. If you do find a calamari it is the size of a nail clipping and the fried part flakes right off. read more

Been here a few times. Food is eh. Service is barely eh. The last time we were there, I must admit, the service was much better then the first time. It's a clean place, great atmosphere but the food and service are below average. We were able to get a table both times fairly quickly. First time we were there I got the pretzel app. That was good. My meal was the flat bread pizza. For $12 I got a pizza about the size of a napkin (no exaggeration). It lacked any real flavor. For $12.... I was expecting a little more. The two waitresses seemed pretty disinterested in serving our table. My girl waited about 15 mins for a water refill. My second trip I got the chicken and waffles. Honestly, it was decent. My only gripe was that it came with no syrup or gravy (pretty standard for chicken and waffles) so it was a little dry. My friend got a Cesar salad with no dressing. When she asked for some, the waitress shot her a dirty look and returned, about 15 mins later, with something that resembles sour cream... I feel that this spot has the potential to be a pretty good spot. They just need to work on their service and the shitty attitudes the waitresses have. read more

We were here for a family vacation in late July. Thankfully the kids are old enough that we could leave them home to wander the boardwalk and eat crappy food. Good bar, friendly staff, easy going bartenders and customers. The staff was quick to make a recommendation on beer and food we were made to feel at home despite never having been there. The food was excellent and well prepared and seemed very fresh. A lot of locals but we never were made to feel like Bennies and if anything everyone was extra nice. Reminded me a little of going to a Dead show... only in the friendliness department not the hippy department. My only regret is it's 80 miles from my year-round house. Was there last Wednesday for some beers and appetizers. Ordered the buffalo Mac and cheese. It looked like they shredded canned chicken and dumped it on top of their Mac and cheese without emptying the water from the canned chicken. It was a watery, soupy mess. I returned it and ordered the pretzel of the day- pulled pork, caramelized onions and pepper jack cheese. The pretzel came with a healthy portion of the pulled pork. Unfortunately, the pork was very salty and they forgot to put cheese on the pretzel. They always have a pretty good craft beer selection. This night, the wait staff didn't seem very attentive. We had to ask for more drinks when empty even though the place was not busy. The staff was not rude. Just not attentive. Dropped over $200 for four of us for some appetizers and beers. Not worth the $$$ this trip. Will give them another try in the future...... read more

Hey! You ever want to go to a "taphouse" after spending a few hours at the beach? Don't go here. The burgers are premade! Oh boy! Beef pucks! The pulled pork was good, but they lied. There were 3 of us in this group. 3. So I asked that she split the bill. Basic math was not our waitress' strong suit. In fact, it wasn't her manager's strong suit either. HOW DOES NOBODY IN THIS RATHOLE NOT KNOW HOW TO DO BASIC MATH?! THEY HAVE A CALCULATOR! First bill, I was charged about 4 dollars over the itemized bill. Second bill I was 60 cents over the itemized bills. Third bill? Still over. I gave up and told my waitress the difference is her tip. Even the manager, while he knew the problem, and attempted and failed to resolve the issue, also didn't attempt to issue a refund, a discount, anything. This place is absolutely abhorred. DO NOT ENTER! Go to Burger King, hit up the wine shop and get some beers. To answer your questions, I was there at about 4:00 pm on 29 July (Saturday). Just stay away. Wanted to meet my friends for some apps and drinks. Heard plenty of good things so we went. Arrived at about 6 and sat at the bar. The lone bartender ignored us for about 10 minutes or so. A female joined him and greeted us. She asked if we would like menus and went to get them. In the meantime the male bartender graced us with his presence and took a drink order. After about 5 minutes she returned with the menus. We ordered 3 apps (guac and chips and 2 orders of chicken skewers). As 7 o'clock is rolling around we have yet to get our food and our drinks were empty. We actually had to hunt a tender down to request our check. She said, "but your order is next." We saw 3 people come in and order drinks and food and get served before us! I have no doubt that the order never made it into the system. We cancel the order, pay for the drinks and get a great meal down the road and 709. If I could go lower than 1 star I would. read more

Garlic shrimp tacos were not garlicky.. Service was friendly but not good.. Moscow mule had almost no vodka and was 9$. Most beer is fairly priced - good selection. Food took almost 30 minutes!!! from time Of order ( fish and shrimp tacos take -10 minutes to cook) and it was mid week day and not busy. Lots of shrimp in each taco but fish was skimpy big time. Music was what immature high school kids listen too. Should be rock or jazz or something funky. The pretzel was burnt (black ) on the underside. Sent it back and received a new pretzel.. sauces served with the pretzel were very good. My friend ordered the daily special.. a Reuben and fries, asking the server what kind of bread it's served on .., he didn't know. Three people ate lunch. Two appetizers, one burger, two poboys, 3 sodas, & 2 vodka drinks for $90 with tip. Chicken wings app was decent but not great. Potato skins were odd but tasty. They're not your typical skins as they are paper thin strips. Burger was ok. Seemed to be a store-bought patty. The egg on top was the tastiest part. The chicken poboys were just ok. There was far more roll than chicken plus the chicken was dry & not plentiful. Drinks were expensive. Overall this was a disappointing, over-priced meal. The service was fine. The young girl behind the bar was pleasant but we could have eaten at the Broadway Bar & Grill & had a better, less expensive lunch. Next time we will go to the Broadway. read more

I made the mistake of dismissing this establishment as a beer and shot bar for locals only. The attention to patrons is A+, the food is great, the way the indoor/outdoor is setup is the best in Point...and of course the beer is cold. Hubby and I tried Amendment 21 because of our love for craft beer. Great selection and bartender is quick to give you samples so you can find your favorite. Everyone was nice and very laid back. It's a smaller room, but enjoyed the intimate atmosphere. I saw a couple of complaints about service time; we never had a problem. We were there on a Saturday afternoon and sat at the bar. Staff was very attentive, but not hawkish. We really enjoyed it and will definitely be back. read more
