The medical desert in France already starts beyond the péripherique. I called SOS Medecins from St…read more Denis because I was suffering from a bad migraine with vomiting that wouldn't respond to painkillers. The lady who answered the phone had zero empathy. With a loud, domineering voice she lectured me that St. Denis is not Paris and that I should look for a doctor's office that is open on a Saturday. Their doctors only do house visits inside Paris she said. On their website they advertise medical house visits for "Grand Paris" which includes Seine Saint Denis. So apparently this is no longer the case. I wish I had known that important piece of information in advance. I also wish they would employ operators better suited for talking to people who are calling in for medical help.
