The man did not bring proper tools, kept saying he would, never did, and I ended up buying the tool to try and expedite. Owner never tried to provide tools needed and blamed the guy he hired. Week one was spent taking up 200 sq ft of old floor but not all the motar. Power said he had aa crew down with prior job. Could start Monday. I would have all three. I had 3 guys half a day. Ended up one guy, everyone else gone. Poor communication. One day I am told "tomorrow, final demo and dry fitting cement board. Didn't happen. There was another day of demo and some incorrect dry fitting. This is the point at which I said no more. What really sent me over the edge was they turned my water off on Wednesday and I advised multiple times I had an appointment and needed to leave by 230. The owner was supposed to come back before I.Left and turned the water back on. He texted me at two twenty seven and said he was about twenty minutes away. I was so mad and I had to go, so I did if they were. Said he'd come back that night later from Bloomington. I guess and turn the water back on, but I said, forget it. I tried to do it myself, and I couldn't, so I spent a night without water. It is so disrespectful, in my opinion to tell somebody. You will be there before they leave. But then don't be there, and they end up having a night without any water. I had new flooring company come out who said as they looked in the bathroom that they had broken my plumbing pipe.Now I have to have that replaced and have a drywall person in to fix that. I asked for a refund of the unspent.Amount I had paid up front. The owner is giving me the run. Around and now he won't respond at all. I have a lot of texts that show everything i'm saying, if anybody wants to see them. The owner told me that I have very unrealistic expectations. That could be true. But when the new flooring guys told me what it would take to fix the problems this company caused, it's less time than these guys already spent here. One of the workers for this company also told me that the they have been working on a job in Champaign for a month and a half, and they're nowhere near done. That's unverified by me. But now I have to sue this guy to get my money back. Also to get money for the plumbing that they damaged.And the drywall repair, which is another three hundred and fifty dollars. Beware. The values you read on their website which say what they are committed to are absolutely untrue, as it relates to my experience with them.

We walked him and Trisha through the house, giving details as to what we needed done. He said he could "do it all". He messed up so many things and thought he did a beautiful job. The agreement was to prime and paint most of the house, but he only did one coat and a crappy job at that. He painted outdoor trim and supposedly sealed the deck at 25 degrees (he only sealed the deck railings but claimed he did the rest when we weren't around, which was a lie). We paid him a lot of money and when we brought up concerns, he became defensive just like he does on the negative Yelp reviews. He kept asking for advance money to buy gas, but would only work 4-5 hours a day so it took more gas and more time to complete. The final straw was when he was unable to replace the kitchen grout as promised (claimed that was his area of expertise), he used white latex paint with beige travertine tile and claimed we approved that. The kitchen floor was an absolute mess! We ended up having someone else come in to fix his crappy work and it was done right. When he came to pick up the final payment and we question the shotty work, he threatened to put a lein on our house and his girlfriend started cussing and screaming in our front yard, threatened to punch my husband. We had to get the police involved, and later discovered that a 5-gallon gas can and a brand-new jack were missing from our garage, and Smitty & Trisha were the only people besides us that had access to the garage. All of the positive reviews here are either his girlfriend Trisha, or other friends, as they all seem to live very far from East Peoria (many are out of state!) And he has not been operating legally in the state of Illinois since 2016. Go check the IL Secretary of State Business license search before you make the same mistake we did.
