A few days ago I had the opportunity to meet the owner of this bookstore, such a kind & helpful man. He speaks mostly English as a lot of his customers are foreigners. There´s a big selection of Mexico related books here, everything from architecture, cooking, design, decoration, history & everything related to Mexico, there´s even kids books available all related again to mexican culture. Some books are in spanish, but most are in english, there´s also some gifts available (jewelry, etc). Don´t miss the decoration of the place, is astuning, colours everywhere you turn! read more

This is a great, albeit full priced, bookstore with mostly English books on topics of interest for travelers to Mexico. Both fiction and non-fiction as well as children's books that focus on the community. They also have some great art to purchase. Highly recommended stop. read more

You should visit this place if you love books. A great (mostly) English language bookstore in Oaxaca. I visited and bought books twice during my week there: once for bilingually published literature and books on local culture and another for a deeper dive into local politics and history. Both times I had help from the shopkeeper, who guided me towards a range of topics. When looking for recent accounts of the 2006 uprising and its aftermath, we had a short but very enlightening discussion on the topic from his personal memories. Fabulous Bookstore, focused on broad array of English language books, owned by an American expat from San Francisco (40 years in Oaxaca so more Oaxacan than American). Alfonso works at the store and is warm, knowledgeable and just a terrific guy. read more
