The Beehive Coffee House - Invision Our Vanilla, Peanut Butter Passion & Raspberry Roulette

Freakshakes in Bristol!…read more When I was told about this cafe selling Freakshakes in Bristol, I couldn't quite believe it. I thought that was just a Shoreditch deal. But no, this cafe really are selling some fine calorific freakshakes! It's a basic cafe inside, with a small fish tank (always nice to see fishies), there are even some sofas to sit on if you really want to get comfortable. I went on a Saturday lunch time, and even though there's quite a lot of seating available, the whole place was full. I had to make my order and sit outside for 10 minutes, luckily I sofa became available so I quickly nabbed my spot inside the warm cafe opposite the fish tank. We ordered 3 freakshakes, Invision Our Vanilla, Peanut Butter Passion & Raspberry Roulette, all of which were really, really good. They tasted amazing and they looked so freaky too. We did have these as a dessert and had ourselves some savoury paninis first, which were very tasty too, especially the BBQ Pulled Pork Panini. I'd totally recommend going to this place, even if it's just for a panini/sandwich and a coffee, but if you make the effort to go here you've really gotta have a freakyshake. Better yet, take someone who will be unsuspecting of this freaky creation, they will be surprised for sure. Thanks Beehive Coffee House, you made Bristol a much cooler city!

I was super excited to check out this place for a spot of lunch, as it's a place I've heard many…read moregood things. I was there during the week on lunchtime with friends, it's got this really lovely laid back cosy style, and was super friendly. I like the fact they have a massive blackboard wall, with lots of menu choices, from tapas to light bites, and have specials too. We headed to the back of the building which almost feels conservatory like. The whole menu looked mouthwatering, I opted for the Home Smoked Trout with cream cheese, scrambled egg and radish salad. All of the flavours really complemented each other, and the scrammed egg was the lightest and fluffiest I've ever tasted. It was an ample portion, and really set me up for the rest of the day. The other thing I should mention is price, you get high quality for a great price. My brunch was priced at £6.90. The perfect price for a lunch deal in my opinion. I shall most certainly be back, and would highly recommend this place.

Poco is the best Tapas Bar around! Excellent food with the best atmosphere created by the staff,…read morethe music, the layout and the people who end up eating there. I think most of their meat is supplied from Pipers Farm, where the animals are treated incredibly well, they are mostly grass-fed and the meat tastes incredible. As someone who doesn't buy a lot of meat anymore, and I hardly eat meat when I eat out because I can't be sure of where the meat has come from, this is a massive plus! Thank you to all the staff for creating a unique experience!

Huge bonus points for the following: * WiFi. Yay... I can…read moreuze laptop. * It's also A CAFE! Fresh coffee and cakes. Not vending machine but a genuine espresso bar out the back. With funky purple cushion seating. * Manned. No launderette mysteries. If something goes wrong the guy's right there. * Eco friendly detergents. Stuff that doesn't sweep persistent pollutants down the drain and out to sea. * Little jars: if you forget your laundry powder you can buy a little refillable jar right there. And if you like it you can buy it full size. * Radio. Classic rock of some kind. "Walk this way" now playing... * Laundry fiction. (??!) A series of books with the word 'launderette' or 'laundromat' in the title. * Cinnamon rolls. They rock. Why doesn't every coffeeshop have them? They're so 'fika'. It's right next to Cafe Lazz where I usually go for coffee but I might go here instead now, laundry or no laundry. Cool. Only downside: if you come in winter, wear your coat!

Always really helpful for people that don't have a clue (like me!) and always have time for a natter. They have internet facilities as well so you can surf the web whilst you wait for your wash for a small cost...and i have breaking news........they give you free jelly beans!! Won me over in a heartbeat. I like the play on words as well, clean bean, free jelly beans... it's always really clean there and it's just a cute, cosie more modern version of a launderette.

Serving quality organic food and great coffee, it is often difficult to find a table in this surprisingly large café. (From the outside it looks like a small hobbit-built dwelling, but inside, the deceptively diminutive exterior, gives way to a spacious interior, with plenty of hobbit sized tables and seating.) It's possible to take food and drink outside to on of the picnic benches situated in the mini-adventure playground to the front of the building. There's quite a buzz to the place, especially in the mornings, with clusters of friends all indulging in animated discussions, although it's not uncommon to see people taking root for breakfast armed with the days copy of the Guardian. There's a very definite creative flavour to much of the chatter that goes on here, even the staff are all artists, musicians and writers. It's definitely one of Bristol's best child friendly bohemian spaces.
