Worst place in town by far. The staff are rude beyond measure and the hotel manager is a lying scam artist. We found ourselves in Tulum when a category 1 hurricane swept through. Long story short, the entire hotel was a mess, the area lost power and we were all stranded. First few hours of the aftermath, as expected, trying to regroup. But when it takes longer to simply check on your guests, this hotel dropped the ball. Our sliding door literally broken into pieces and they failed to relocate us to an out her room until we kept pestering them. They continuously lied to keep us around saying the power will be on, "in an hour.. by 2pm....by 10pm" wtf?! The road to the hotel is also quite annoying as it's the bumpiest thing in the world. We quickly left to a new hotel called Valhalla which the hotel manager was extremely nice and accommodating. She was empathetic and even told us during the power outage she supplied her guests with LED lights! Wow. Someone who actually cares about their guests. Amaka does it so that you'll never want to return. Good riddance. Do not book! read more
