Ed explained that he was dealing with some personal challenges at the time and he owned that he completely dropped the ball. Ed brought with him a flash drive memory stick that contained all of the digital pics that he had taken from the wedding, as well he gave us an amazing hardcover book that he had made of the wedding event. In the end, I truly feel that Ed was sincere in his apology and that he has "right sized" his business to a level that he can keep up with....so I would not hesitate to use him again, as his work is amazing!

Ed has a great eye and a unique artistic style. He also got low on the ground to get different angles. It was a fun photoshoot, and everything just flowed today! He's skilled with lighting. I've seen his portfolio evolve since first working with him and can tell he gains more and more depth with each shoot. There are a lot of photographers out there but Stephen has a special ability to bring out the best in people through his sensitivity and humor. She was within our price range even her top package was reasonable (but now she raised her prices, so sorry to those who are about to book her) and her photography style is what we're looking for - photojournalistic. We interviewed more than 15 photographers and was about to hire another one (to make a long story short, we're glad we didn't get him). When that didn't turn out well, we kept looking for weeks for another photographer until we came across Cate's website. We saw, we loved and we immediately booked a meeting with her. We were a little disappointed that she didn't bring any albums or pictures of her work. She did answer all our questions and concerns. We also asked if she accepted credit card and she said "yes, thru paypal". Not sure if she set up Paypal yet or if she accepts credit card now but we ended up having to pay her via check for her services. So came the time we had to take our engagement pictures (part of the package), we mentioned that we wanted some garden and beach scenes. She was ok with that and suggested San Francisco. It was fine with us because we know there's alot of great places there. We went to the Japanese Friendship Garden in SF but ended up spending most of our time there. We didn't have enough time for the beach pictures because we were an hour late for her photo shoot so I guess we couldn't blame her for wanting to go home. We would have wanted some beach shots. But she was truly easy and fun to work with and always has great ideas for our shots. July 2008 - Wedding day came and Cate was there on time. She started taking pictures and got alot of great shots of me in my room. I didn't get alot of pictures with my girls because my girls weren't where they're suppose to be. But throughout the wedding, Cate got alot of great shots that told the story of our wedding day. She has a great eye for photography and captures alot of the silliest and best moments of our wedding day. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Months later after the wedding: Cate sent us a sneak peak of our wedding pictures a few days after the wedding. After a couple of weeks, I emailed her to provide us something from our wedding. She immediately sent us a link to our pictures including a slideshow of our wedding. I was ecstatic because I finally have a link to send to my family (who's been bugging me for weeks). After a few weeks, we finally picked out 100 out of 1000 pictures for our album. Sent that to Cate and got a preview of the album. A few weeks later she was able to send us the DVD of our pictures and wedding album. I had to email her several times for issues with our pictures and finally she was able to complete everything in our package by January '09. We didn't get the hard bound, flush-mount album with nice, thick, vibrant pages and pictures we thought was a part of the package. Instead, we got one of those albums that was ordered from Apple. She did give us additional albums to compensate the wait on our album and photo-DVD but it would be nice if Cate shows her clients the album type and photos she took. It would also be nice if Cate offers the coffee-table style album.

Deepa was so patient as we tried to keep two young kids and a dog in different formations and backgrounds. She had good suggestions and communicated them well to the kids, us (and the dog ;). I loved the idea of the lake as a backdrop for our couples portraits, but I felt like it would be best to find a photographer who was already familiar with its various features and angles. When I found Sarah's portfolio I was delighted and immediately knew I wanted to work with her. This was a fantastic decision and I would unequivocally recommend her as a wedding photographer. We spent 12+ hours together over the course of pre-wedding couple portraits, rehearsal picnic, and the day-of. I didn't think ahead of time about how much time that is to spend with a stranger, but after a very short time she didn't feel like one. She's warm, cheerful and professional. She gave excellent direction, while still working to keep shots very natural, and very willing to take our input throughout the process. She was easy to communicate with by phone and email, her business info was well organized and it was easy to handle contracts, etc. I found her prices to be very reasonable for the quality of service and product, and I really loved the photo book she put together at the end of the process.

Or, "WOW, that doesn't even LOOK like the same place we were at." Sarah has this ability to make her subjects and backgrounds look epic or incredible, or basically all the amazing adjectives you can think of to describe a photo. In these "socially distanced" times it made perfect sense to also have her take photos since she is a regular in our house. Her skills as a doula come into play in her photography as she is able to get a baby absolutely calm and sleeping like a little cherub in photos. She is able to bring a complete photo studio into your house as well, even in small rooms like my nursery in a modest townhouse. While she definitely has experience and her vision, she is always happy to incorporate any ideas you may have and make sure that you get the photos that you'll cherish forever. I had a spur of the moment idea to incorporate some fresh flowers into our photos and she delivered the concept beautifully. These photos mean so much to us as we haven't been able to have as much family around as we'd like to celebrate the birth of our first child. They brought so much joy not only to us but our parents & relatives. During these weird 'lockdown' times, it's easy to forget about special occasions but professional photos done is a small way to be both responsible and mark important moments.
