Alwadi combines superb Moroccan food with a fun experience from the staff and is absolutely worth going out of your way in Seville. The sit-down restaurant is easy to spot from the street, with well-lit signage and a separate storefront for takeout right across the street. Inside, the space is not huge but we did not feel crowded or bunched in with other tables. Our server was friendly and humorous, and gave us great service throughout the meal. The food was spectacular. For my main course, I had the Shish Koufta Turki/Adana, which is spiced ground beef skewered and grilled over grilled veggies. I got a side of rice as well, and gobbled down the whole dish. I also tried the excellent chicken beriany (biryani) and loved it. Strongly recommend stopping by Alwadi (come in early if you want to make sure you get a table) and will hopefully return here on my next trip to Sevilla! read more

Traveling from the US and were looking for a place that has more than one vegetarian dish on the menu, we found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try. Are we glad we did! The food was great as was the service. There were ample vegetarian options and plenty of non-pork meat options (hard to find in Seville). We spoke to a couple from the Netherlands who said they liked the food so much, they were back a second time. We got there early and got in without a reservation, but I'd recommend making one in advance. We passed by this restaurant on our second day of our visiting Sevilla and came back the next night for dinner. We are vegetarian and we're pleased with the vegan and vegetarian food selections. We ordered the appetizer sampler, Mjaddara, and Berriany de Vedura and I cannot decided which one we lived the best. They all were delicious and Juan Emmanuel's service made the whole experience more pleasant. This is an excellent place for a midday lunch or evening meal. We are vegan and they were very accommodating. We had their fattouche salad - massive and tasty and so full of flavor. We also had their yellow rice with nuts, fruits and veggies. We returned the next day and had their couscous. It was fluffy and flavorful with a sweet raisins and onion dressing. It's always a good sign to see people from a particular culture, eating at a restaurant related to their culture. And for good reason. This place had exceptional middle eastern food, and my only regret is that I didn't listen to Abdul enough for my meal - he is excellent and makes excellent recommendations! My food was delicious for sure, but my wife's was even better!! They shared with us (at my asking) what others were getting and showed us some more things to try. The best baba ganoush I've ever had in my life. The Berany (rice dish) was good. The chicken skewers and labneh were fine but underwhelmning. But the Baba Ganoush is worth going for alone. Put it on everything and all of a sudden you have a delicious dish. It has the perfect balance of sweetness from pomegranates and acid from lemon and balsamic vinegar. I've never experienced something like this. Didn't even get a chance to taste the food. Showed up 11 minutes late to a reservation (wandering around a new town as a tourist, that happens) and the guy was so unbelievably rude to us for being late -- looking at his watch "what time is your reservation ... and what time is it now?"and basically told us to go somewhere else. What a nice surprise. We were two couples looking for lunch and chanced upon Al Wadi. The service is excellent; the food quite amazing. The Kabseh cordero and the Shawarma árabe al Grill were extraordinary. You can't go wrong with the Bana Ghanouj and the Tabbouleh, either. Highly recommended. Our server Hassan did a very nice job. We left feeling like we'd eaten a full dinner instead of a lunch, and including beverages, two of which were sangrias, we spent €20 each. A very good value in a lovely setting. read more
