Made an appointment, came in, and the woman helping us was totally clueless, waste of time. Do it yourself or go elsewhere.

This review is for the DMV service option that AAA offers as a quick, no stress, time saving, hair saving( yeah and I only have 7 left) alternative to dealing with a DMV office. All included in the membership. Additional perks, benefits, bonuses and observations- * Value - for $3 a month, I have all DMV services, discounts on my auto insurance, a defensive driving class offered for a fee, roadside assistance( towing, tire service and fuel delivery, battery and lockout service),travel planning assistance, free maps, FREE Identity theft protection and free Hertz Gold rental car membership. * The communication between the staff is phenomenal. Great teamwork.. * Thank you to the wonderful and proactive manager Alice.Hats off to the methodical and kind Jim who got me in and out in less than five minutes. The accommodation and respect I got from Melvin was so warm and off the charts regarding my specific situation being a military veteran and leaving for an overseas assignment in a few hours * The line was seven deep as the door opened at 9 AM and three different AAA employees including Alice greeted us all with smiles and walked us to different counters depending on our appointment or service needed * This Garden City location is a half a mile south of Old Country Road on the south west corner of Franklin Avenue and 12th St. The entrance is from the rear. Panera Bread is next door. There are loads of parking spaces. AAA grade to this AAA Garden City office!

For those using AAA for roadside assistance, here are my issues:…read more1) I've been a "member" for 15 years; I renewed a month ago, but bought a new car that has roadside assistance for 2 years; 2) I thought it would simple to downgrade my plan from "premier" to "classic" . . . nope! 3) AAA Mid-atlantic - unlike AAA Northeast - does not provide pro-rata refunds . . . "it's a corporate rule" I was told over and over by the supervisor at the call center; 4) I also could not cancel my membership; I'm stuck with services I won't need for 11 months. 5) This is a greedy rule; 6) I had always declined roadside assistance from GEICO and USAA . . . but never again! As I learned today, it's the same level of service as AAA and MUCH CHEAPER! 7) With this auto-policy service, I can change at any time with a pro-rated reduction; 8) I cancelled my AAA auto renewal and will never use them again. Don't get caught in the AAA-renewal rut out of habit as I did; there are other strong alternatives that won't take advantage of a life change.

There's also a set of elevators if you don't wish to climb stairs. Once you're there, you can purchase a ticket or what me and my friend did was just jump on tje train heading towards Penn Station. A train attendant will eventually ask all passenger for their tickets or pay onboard either using cash or credit card. How much was a one-way ticket to Penn Station? It was only $17/pax! Few shaded areas with lots of views making it a pretty awesome ride into Manhattan. You'll reach there in less than 30 minutes because on Sunday's it operates on a rapid express route skipping several stations. It's an enjoyable ride and per Google, there was an option to transfer at Jamaica Station. But since the faster route brought us to Penn, it cut even more time. Lot's of people seem to keep to themselves, I'm pretty sure that you will come across beggars or train performers, so always keep track of your belongings and stay vigilant as this is city public transportation. I bet on weekdays it can get extremely crowded like what you'd typically go through during rush hour. However you need to experience riding The Meteo in NYC. It's fun. Definitely recommend!

It is also possible to purchase tickets on-line. The train was very prompt and on schedule. The ride was quiet. The windows could have been cleaned so the we could enjoy looking outside. The inside of the train cars were very clean. My one big complaint is that when we arrived at the Carle Place station from Penn Station, the door opened for just a few seconds and we couldn't get off the train. We had to ride to the next station and walk 25 minutes to our destination. It was late at night. Luckily it was a safe neighborhood. I don't know if we were supposed to do something to get the door to open. There were no officials in our train car to ask.

Only deal with travel agencies that are USTOA Members. FreeGate is not listed as a current USTOA Member, although, certain websites list FreeGate's affiliation to USTOA. My family & I found out the hard way. We decided to use FreeGate Tourism Travel Agency because we were not familiar with all the nuances relating to international travel, and counted on its expertise to plan our vacation. Our family vacation was utterly destroyed because of this company's ignorance regarding passport regulations. FreeGate Tourism unconscionably neglected to verbally communicate (either in person or over the phone) the existence of a 6-month passport rule when travelling to certain destinations out of the country. Due to FreeGate Tourism's blatant failure to verbally advise us of such vital information, two family members were stranded at the airport unable to board the flight, even though they possessed valid passports that would not expire for two months. To add insult to injury, FreeGate Tourism refused to take any responsibility for its reprehensible actions. When questioned about the 6-month passport regulation, we were directed to a general disclaimer, which was sent as an attachment, via e-mail, but never opened or viewed. This veiled attempt to disclose imperative travel information is disgraceful. Shame on FreeGate Tourism for its shoddy and unprofessional business practices! Due to FreeGate's slack communication policy two of my family members were denied the beauty of the Galapagos Islands, a once in a lifetime trip, with no compensation or refund for their expenses.
