Of the old church in Corvey only the west work remained, which is thereby the oldest earlymedieval architectural monument of Westphalia. In the west work is over the low curved centralresounds as crypt is designated, the dubble flloor Johannischor with the Kaiserloge. The view from the Johannischor into the church is now blocked by the organ loft. After the 2nd world war with restoration work on the walls of the Johannischors remainders were discovered by walpaints from the 9th century (among other things a Odysseus representation). This old church has a completely special Atmospäre (see pictures). read more
