They do speak English. The hotel location is a 10 minutes walk from the Flixbus Düsseldorf stop. It's also a 10 minutes walk from Düsseldorf Central train station. You can also walk 20-30 minutes to the high-luxury shops from the hotel. There's also a metro station (i.e Handelszentrum / Moskauer) near the hotel.

Since I arrived in Dusseldorf and stayed my first two nights (11/1 and 11/2) in the city at an American-style hotel, I thought it would be great to stay in a hotel that was closer to my work site and more part of a local neighborhood. I am delighted to report that the hotel is: 1) Immaculately clean. 2) Free parking. 3) Is within walking distance to a few small restaurants, grocery and a gas station. 4) Has comfy beds. 5) Free WiFi, very fast and reliable. I don't speak German, at least - I'm not very good at it - so there was a bit of a language barrier for me. Anita Helmrich greeted me each morning at breakfast, and she tried to speak English as I tried to speak German. She made my hotel stay a joy! When I had to leave early for work and miss breakfast (great breakfast btw!), she packed me a "to go" breakfast...which was awesome...because this was pretty much my ONLY hot meal of the day. Hard work, no play! Some things to consider, if you are traveling from the US to this hotel: 1) The TV is super-small, and all programs are in German except CNN and MTV; consider bringing an iPad or laptop with movies in English on them - I watched free movies on YouTube. 2) Bring a wash cloth or two - none in the bathroom - and when I asked, they thought I wanted my laundry done...and were willing to do it! (Again, my very poor German!) 3) No fridge in the room; long stays like mine would benefit from an in-room fridge, since I did go the grocery store almost daily...yeah for ALDI! 4) The restaurant in front of Hotel Zur Muhle is not a restaurant; not exactly sure "what" it is...maybe just a pub, or a private club? In summary, upon your arrival, find Anita Helmrich, and you'll be a right as rain!

One of the best customer service we received during our trip. Excellent and profesional service by staff such as Mohamed who took care of our luggage and taxi cabs and from our housekeeping Steffi who was multilingual and went the extra mile to ensure we had everything we needed and promptly got someone to come help us with the washer/dryer. She was also very kind and patience with our child who was trying to practice speaking in German with her when she delivered extra towels we requested. This hotel deserves 5 stars. This Hyatt House was renovated out of an old court house and caters to the Andreas Quarters art scene. There are plenty of theater productions and art galleries a plenty, plus there are two amazing restaurants right inside. The piano bar is amazing with such a great lounge feeling. When you walk in the lobby is MASSIVE but so well decorated to make you feel at home. Little areas to sit and read the many books provided, gorgeous artwork to look at, stunning architecture...the list goes on. Oh, and the rooms are massive and priced perfectly, and their brand news, super cozy, and best of all quiet. Staff is top notch and accommodating to all the request you may have. Breakfast is fantastic, the Gym is big...nothing more to say, this place is really really good and I put it at the top of the list. If you do stay here, I recommend an early morning stroll down to the Rhein River along the quarter and take a look at all the plazas and squares in the early morning hours before everything starts to move, absolutely breathtaking with all the public art.

It made half of my group extremely uncomfortable that they had to move to a different hostel and it was a bummer to split us up. However the other half of the group was fine. Huge plus to this place was the communal kitchen that anyone could use! I love cooking my own meals while traveling cause I do get tired of eating out all the time. The staff was super sweet and extremely nice to us our entire stay. They did their best to accommodate for us in any way they could possible.

I felt like the last guest might have died from lung cancer in that room.
