Being tired of receiving non-sensical outrageously expensive estimates from other shops to fix a…read morecluncking noise in the front end, I decided to go to Bowsers in light of the really good reviews they received. Am I glad I did! Robert quickly ruled out the suspension components as the cause of the clunking noise. After driving it a bit he narrowed it down to a loose brake caliper pin bushing. Noise is gone! Compare that to the other guys who wanted me to replace a "loose" control arms, sway bar links and struts. He told me what else he saw, whether or not it was absolutely needed, the pros and cons of doing or not doing certain things and explained everything very clearly. What a great feeling to be dealing with an honest man and a qualified shop. We have three vehicles and we are looking forward to bringing them all to Robert and his shop for service and maintenance.

I also really appreciated the tasty cookie they gave me when I picked up my car. From a purely customer-service standpoint, they do a great job. However, I have to give 2 stars because of their pricing and lack of transparency. I brought my vehicle in and received an estimate for a throttle body replacement. They quoted me $1,044.45 just for the part (labor was an additional $408.66). What really bothered me, in addition to the extreme markup, was the lack of information. The quote didn't specify the brand of the part being used, nor did it state whether it was brand new or a reconditioned unit. As you can see in the photos I've attached, I looked up the parts myself. I can easily purchase a brand new, OEM-quality throttle body for around $150. I understand that mechanics need to mark up parts to make a profit and cover their warranties, but a markup of this magnitude is excessive, especially without being completely transparent about what exactly the customer is paying for. Great customer service and a clean waiting room are wonderful, but they don't justify this level of markup on parts. I highly recommend doing your own research on part prices and getting a second opinion before approving any major repairs here.

I solicited several shops, and…read moreall replied but Austin at Mike's was the first to reply with a concrete estimate for a major service that included replacing the timing belt and water pump on my 2003 Mazda Miata. Estimates ranged from $660 to $1200. Austin was able to answer all my questions via email, and when my engine warning light suddenly popped on Austin volunteered to confirm the analysis done at the dealer and AutoZone. The customer waiting area is clean, as is their rest room. If you're a veteran, you'll be impressed with several of the display cases which bear Austin's grandfather's service medals. The shop also accurately predicted how long the job would take so I could plan my day. Although some shop refuse or are 'insulted' when asked to install parts or components they didn't supply, this shop understands we're all eager to save a buck. Although Mike's can't offer a warranty on owner supplied parts, they are customer focused. Mike's shop is clean, well organized and a austin at Mike's my new mechanic!
