Got to try the... - The mussels - good taste, in a nice wine sauce. - The escargot - delicious, cooked in a nice butter oil sauce. - Foie Gras - Not a big fan of duck fat, but this was good as well. - Scallops - The scallops for this dish was rubbery, but had a nice sauce on top. Overall, great service and delicious food.

Our server did the whole "sell you the bottle" trick but backed down when I chuckled at him about the cost of the crap bottles they were selling. After that, it was smooth sailing and a nice time. He did a great job Inside it seems to be "Frenchy", but it does seem like it's a bit of a stretch. There are paintings depicting French scenes, but frankly you could put pics of French fries up and I would not care. The lighting was cool. The apps were great and I loved them all! Very tasty bites indeed. The soufflé looked burnt but was very good when you got into it. Escargot were tasty as well and the French onion soup was amazing! Real butter for the bread and I am in love. Entrees were just ok. C ate very little of hers, but I liked hers way more than mine. I had the Duck and it wasn't the best, but it's a gamble with Duck sometimes I guess. We were so full we did not even look at dessert when the time came. Overall, nice meal and a good time! I'd come back just to eat the appetizers again. '26 - 58

In the past this place has always been a staple for us, but each year we go we like it a little less. This year majority of the group was disappointed in the entire experience from the service to the food. To start, the service was lacking compared to what we get at other local restaurants nearby. Our servers did not frequently come back to ask if we needed anything and we were constantly having to ask to get our waters refilled. The drinks are good, but nothing we can't get elsewhere. Half of our group enjoyed (but not loved) their food and half did not enjoy. My SO and I split the al pastor meal. In the past we have loved this, but this time it felt like they rushed to make it and the flavors we remembered just weren't there. It was still good, but I think it could have been better. I do love the churro cart here, but you can get good churros several other places. Overall, this place has gone downhill in our opinion, and for the price it isn't worth it when there so many better options close by. I'm sure we will be back, but I think we might skip a year stopping here.

She was walking us a little towards the back, but since it was my first time to Isla, I wanted to people-watch, so I asked about a table up front. As soon as we headed over, I saw why she passed it - it was right next to the saxophone player! Thank goodness his volume level was perfect! Just loud enough to be heard over the crowds walking down the 'lane' out front and the restaurant diners' chatting. But not so loud that we 3 couldn't chat. We loved it! Now these two can EAT - and love to try everything on the menu, whereas I tend to eat smaller portions. I ordered the shrimp tacos and they were fantastic - huge pieces of shrimp, so good! The lobster mac n cheese is so good, I would have loved to bring a big container of it home with me! The restaurant is very busy but very clean and tables are well organized for maneuvering a quick trip to the restroom before leaving. Our server, Maylen was attentive and pleasant. The bar area, facing the street, looked like a lot of fun, I'll have to try it next time!

Now you may be thinking to yourself... what do they even serve there? Do they make enchiladas using crepes or escargot tacos?! Well if you keep an open mind, you will be presently surprised at their offerings. We have some serious foodies in our group so we decided to order the grasshoppers for an appetizer. I know that's not every exotic, but it was delicious nonetheless! An even better surprise was duck paired with mole. The duck breast was perfectly cooked to a medium and the mole was spiced to perfection. Truly savory with a little bit of heat with an underlying note of sweetness. The staff is very friendly. They greet you at the door with a smile! For the wine lovers, they have a resident sommelier that will help you pick the best wine for your meal. He will ask you a few questions to get an idea of your palate then present you a wine as well has give you its origin story. This was the best restaurant during our stay and my group of friends still talk about it to this day. Highly recommended!

I don't know why it took so long for the food to start coming out, but it was basically a 40-minute wait. Compared to all of the other restaurants we went to, that was an eternity! I found the "chorizo fondue" to be very strange. It was basically congealed chorizo in a thin cheese liquid. It came with soft tortillas which were impractical to eat. The French onion soup was, by far, the best part of my meal here. That and the fact that the lamb chops were actually cooked how we requested (medium - nice and pink!!). I found the pollo enchiladas to be extremely bland. We are in MEXICO! Where is the spice? Where is the flavor? I make better enchiladas in my kitchen. Overall the experience here was not bad, but I would not make an effort to dine here again.

Party: popped in a couple of days later because it seemed bumping. Much better spot for an night out because the layout has multiple small spaces to hang and dance, and the lighting and ambience is really cool. Verdict Avoid for dinner but fine for evening vibes
