I've been around Alpha Kids for almost 8 years and have watched both my nephew and niece graduate from here. I was so satisfied on how they had grown and thrived at Alpha Kids that I decided to send my own child here. My son, who was 2 when he started, didn't really talk, only simple grunting, as expected for a two year old, but he has completely done a 180 and is now able to express in sentences what he wants after less than a year at this institution. He has grown both socially and academically in such a short amount of time. The teachers are so attentive to the children that I cannot thank them enough for what they do. My child loves coming everyday and never wants to go home. The community that Alpha Kids have built is undeniably strong and the love that the teachers have for the kids is amazing and cannot be more genuine. Every time I pick up my child, I would always get an update on how he was for the day. If I could give them more than 5 stars I would. Thank you Alpha Kids administration and teachers! read more

We have absolutely loved our experience with the teachers and administration during our child's last year at Alpha kids Junipera Serra. I remember our child's first week, he was a bit scared but Ms. Susan took him under her wing and he was having fun in no time.  The teacher (Ms. Rebeca) is fabulous! She has fun crafts and songs and every day of school he comes home happy. We recently relocated due to work and had to part ways with Alpha Kids. We were extremely satisfied with our experience. We attended Alpha kids for almost a year. The teachers were incredibly attentive and nurturing, creating a warm and welcoming environment for the children. My little one has flourished here, both academically and socially, thanks to the supportive environment and engaging curriculum. My child went here for 3 months. Did not enjoy my experience here Highlights: 1. Heard teachers screaming at children 2. No communication from teacher to parent. It was all done through "administration" 3. I believe when questioning them about my Childs care, I believe there were a few instances I was being lied too. Example: When I saw a scratch on my child they said "friend" did it, and when asking "administration" they blamed it on his eczema which for the record the scratch did not look like eczema - as I have eczema myself Lastly this is for the owner as we had a conversation before we left: I Was told my child would never succeed in a pre-school/school setting unless they have their "underlying" issue fixed - Well AKA I want to let you know that you didn't destroy my Childs spirit and they are doing well at their new pre-school. For you to "diagnose" my child with an issue with no medical expertise you should be ashamed that you run a school that takes care of children. read more

First I will start by saying that the team at AKA is amazing. They helped my two kids get through everything from the jitters on the first to potty training and going off to Kindergarten. Both my kids are always happy when I pick up and coming in to school and I could not have asked for a better fit. The teachers are caring and the administration is thoughtful and accommodating anytime we need to change things or need anything extra. I was surprised to see the one star review because AKA has been nothing but amazing and supportive since we started with our oldest three years ago. I just wanted to leave my experience to reassure any perspective parents that they should not hesitate to enroll. You will not regret it, AKA has become a second family to us. My apologies in advance for the long review. It's been half a year since my 3 year old was at Alpha. He only last for about 2 months before we made the decision to take him out and send him to a different preschool. Alpha kids has caused a lot of emotional turmoil amongst my son developmental progress. I do have to say Alpha kids helped my son with his speech a lot. A little background: My son is speech delayed and is actively participating in weekly speech therapy sessions. He has trouble expressing his words which does require some special attention. Within a few weeks of him being there he had started biting and scratching other kids. He has previously come from an in-home daycare with ZERO incidents. We have tried our best to work with Alpha kids to help my son adapt but with every stride, incidents kept happening. We were not able to talk directly to the teachers. When we would ask the teachers how my son was doing they would say "Rachael or Natella (admin) will reach out." My issue with that is these two do not interact with my son day in and day out hour by hour, minute by minute. It is extremely difficult to correct the behavior and find the root causes if the teachers involved are not a part of the conversation. Needless to say, every time we asked Natella and/or Rachael what happened, they would reply "oh it all happened so fast." At each incident we were forced to keep my son home for two days and talk to him, this is extremely difficult when we do not have sufficient enough information. By the last week, my son was coming home with bruises and scratches that were left unanswered. When questioned, they were quick to say he did it to himself. We asked why we were not told about the self harm, they said they handle these internally. At home we asked him how it happened, he would say "friend". We started to question the notability of my son's well-being at Alpha Kids. As a parent, I deserve to know what goes on with my son whether that would be self-inflicted or "sparring" others in full detail and the events that led up to those incidents. It's apparent that they need extra eyes, cameras, alot more experience and etc. to catch these toddlers and their reactions to certain incidents. *Note: Most of these teachers have barely been here for 2 years. read more

Our son started at Alpha Kids Academy the day after he turned two and what an amazing experience we've had! This was his first time going to any formal programming and cannot say enough wonderful things about the staff and the nurturing environment they've created at AKA. They've helped us tremendously through the transition. During my son's first few weeks they would send me daily pictures and updates, reassuring me of how he was doing. Now he literally bolts out of the car, excited and eager to go to school and play with his friends and his teachers. Every day I feel like he comes home having learned something new and his vocabulary has exploded! I know he's getting individualized and personal attention because when I pick him up the teachers give me a full report of what he's eaten, how he's napped, what he's interested in, anything notable. Its so hard as a parent to know if you're making the right decision when picking a program -- I feel so fortunate to have stumbled upon AKA and have had the most wonderful experience. read more

My son is almost 4 years old and has attended Alpha Kid's Academy since he was about 2&1/2. I am so happy we chose this school! Everything is beyond what we expected! Kind, nurturing, attentive and professional staff and beautiful spotless classrooms! The teachers genuinely care about the children and my son has loved all of his teachers as he has moved up! Our family has been at Alpha Kids Academy for nearly 6 years, and it saddens me to know that we will soon be parting ways.  Both my children attended AKA at the age of 2, and we have nothing but love for this school.  The teachers and administration are amazing.  The first few days of school for both children were amazing as we would get updates on how everything was going.  As the children advanced through the school, all the teachers were amazing and always kept us informed of any issues or problems.  As my youngest is about to graduate from the TK program, we know that she is well-prepared to tackle kindergarten.  AKA not only teaches the children about their ABCs and 123s, but also takes into account the social, emotional learning as well.  They are supportive for any additional assistance we need, from potty training to speech sessions, they are always there to support us. AKA has not only been just our preschool, but they've become family as well.  My children always look forward to when they can go to school again.   When they started the summer camp program, we jumped on it immediately.  My older child was so excited to be back. read more

My daughter attended Alpha Kids Academy at 300 Stonecrest Dr, for 1 year in the 2019-2020 school year. A first I was skeptical about Chinese emersion because our daughter speaks Ukrainian, Russian and English, but when she came to me one day and started singing songs on Chinese I became very proud of her. They teach kids Chinese in a playful way for about 1-2 hours per day. It is a play-based preschool but teachers were able to prepare my daughter for the kindergarten and she was accepted to the K earlier in 4 years and 10 months. With is great, because we will not lose one year in TK. In Alpha Kids Academy kids 2-5 years old play all together. Teachers separate them during activities, lessons, or outdoor play into smaller groups. They do art, math, writing, storytime, circle time, Chinese, outdoor play 2 times per date, they sleep there and have lunch ( you need to bring it) and sneaks ( with they provide). Prices are affordable. They also have part-time and 2-3 times per week options. I can recommend this preschool to everyone. read more

Sadly our first kid is the Guinea Pig. And although we had an 3-star experience at our previous school, we've had an amazing experience here. Now that we've gone through two pre-schools, we appreciate the care and attention to both the parents and kids that Alpha Kids provide. This school is supportive of the kids, as they should be. But let me take a minute to point out that they truly partner with the parents for the success of the kids. It's the little things... emailing parents with pertinent and timely information. Responding to emails in a timely fashion. Online tuition payment... these are the things that make my life as a working mom so much easier. But it really makes me worry less about my kid because a place that runs smoothly really can concentrate on the children. We missed that in our last experience and this place just blew our minds. But back to the kids. My oldest went to a Montessori before this and although he was thriving, he had a lot of energy left over at the end of the day. After a day at Alpha Kids, my kid is calm and tired. This signifies to me that he's challenged, allowed to get all his energy out and engaged. Alpha Kids does a lot of practical life and experiential teaching. It's really great. So great that my kid talks about his teacher and his school non-stop. We were super lucky to find this school and are looking forward to our second kid's experience here too. read more

Our 2 year old son has been here for a couple of months now, and I have to say I have never seen him so happy to "go to school" in the morning. Prior to attending Alpha Kids, he had been in the same day care since he was 4.5 months old. I was hesitant to move him from his (my?) comfort zone, change his routine, and move into a new place but this has proven to be the best thing for him (and for our family). Our son gets excited to go to school in the morning and then comes home all smiles with stories about his day. He even expresses his "love" for "Miss Becca and Miss Mimi". He is truly happy and engaged. As a mother, I appreciate their attention to detail, their consistent/clear communication with us as parents, and the curriculum they are using for our pre schooersl. I don't really write yelp reviews but I was in tears yesterday watching my little brother be singled out in any such way the whole class had Kona ice but my brother and he was crying looking at everyone eat them I am extremely disappointed no 3 year deserves that he's to little to understand why he's being punished kids have to be punished right when something happens and this isn't the first time this has happened there's been several times I felt this way I hope this helps read more

My son has been attending AKA for 3 years (starting at 2 years until 5 years old). The staff has good communication with the parents, friendly but professional. They are genuinely concerned about the care and growth of all the children there. I am so lucky we found this amazing place for our son to get a good education as well as support in the areas of social and emotional needs. This review is long over due. My son was one of the first students to attend AK. We love it so much! When we first toured the shiny new school (it opened April 13'), we were impressed with the director Ms. Rebecca. She devised an amazing curriculum and we were excited for our son. I was a bit apprehensive about sending him to school because he had a horrible daycare experience. It was so horrible; he stopped sleeping in his own bed! But Ms. Rebecca appeased all of my fears. He came home a happy kid every day, singing songs, learning letters, you name it, and he just blossomed. They like the kids to have a set structure and routine. Kids thrive on routine so we make sure to have them be there at 9:00 AM for breakfast. Breakfast and snacks come with the tuition. They are a sugar free school as well and feed the kids healthy options. And another thing about feeding, they really emphasize using utensils! He loved using his fingers but now, he will only eat with them! As for lunch, they cater through bigdipperkids meals (which can be ordered through good eggs). They are delish! My son has brought some home and I've approved his meals! All healthy, organic meals. Also, right when they get in, the kids are encouraged to potty and wash their hands even if they don't need to potty! If you know me, I am a HUGE hygiene freak, especially when it comes to my kids. We loved the school so much, when my daughter turned 2, we started her right away. We had introduced her periodically to the school, taking her to have lunch with her brother. Ms. Rebecca also got her involved during these visits, allowing her to make some projects. By the time she was officially in the school, she was already comfortable with Ms. Rebecca. Double bonus, my daughter just turned 2, like a month ago and is already singing, spelling "S-U-N-N-Y, and sunny is the weather!" She also eats with utensils! She barely used a spoon before we sent her there. Her vocabulary has just flourished and she also comes home a very happy camper. If I could post videos on here I totally would to show how much they just blossomed! My daughter isn't potty trained too so it's a bonus that she can attend a pre-school. Most pre-schools don't accept unpotty trained children. HOWEVER, ever since she started going there, she has an interest in the potty. They line the kids up and while the big kids are pottying, the little kids get changed. My daughter wants to line up at home with her brother and take turns sitting on the potty. The exposure to seeing this has helped her. While at the school, there have been several new additions to the staff. Ms. Mimi is my daughter's teacher and she also has help from Ms. Nona. Both my kids love them. My son calls his class the "big kids class" and it is led by the director, Ms. Rebecca. We even had a parent-teacher conference with her. She really has a great pre-k curriculum. My son can now trace his name, hold a pencil with control, and draw amazing! Yesterday he did a drawing at home and wrote his name without assistance. Freaked me out because he is only 3! They really keep you inform about the events. Ms. Rebecca sends out weekly news letters which are super informative. They get the parents involve too. We had a lorax party when the kids were learning about the lorax. We also just had a Halloween bash. All the parents donated items and the school put together activities and we had a light lunch. The kids dressed in costumes and just loved it. They really had such a creative vision. This is not a cheap day care. This is a school. They are not TV pushers. They actually teach a curriculum. They have circle time, they have projects, they do play. When I got really ill and was not able to take care of my children, it was so reassuring that they could go to school and be taken care of. If mommy can't be there and do everything I can, they deserve the next best thing, and that's what this school is. When I moved here from Hawaii, I didn't have a support system. I couldn't find quality child care. And in SF, it is so hard to get the kids in a pre-school. The school served as my second family. They really took an interest in my kids. Ever child deserves a safe, caring, environment. My son was in love with Ms. Rebecca. He never asks people for hugs but he has taken such a huge liking towards her. She is truly such a caring teacher. If I were considering sending my children to pre-school or looking for a pre-school these are the things I'd like to know: -Teacher student ratio is low -Kids are separated into classrooms based on age -They do have outdoor play two times a day -unpotty trained accepted -Teachers are certified -Kids have a structured day -Breakfast & Snacks included, Lunch catered for a fee -Part-time and Full-time schedules (Full time is from 7:30-6, Part is 7:30-3:30) -Safe and very clean location -Parent and teacher communication is stellar read more

Looking for a preschool for your toddler can get overwhelming... it sure is a process! We checked out 4 other preschools before touring the newly Alpha Kids Academy and I'm glad we saved the best one for last! As soon as we arrived for our tour, we fell in love with the place and we didn't even see the inside yet! Right then and there I thought to myself, this can only get better and it sure did! Located in a nice neighborhood and across the street is an elementary school so the location is perfect! Director/teacher Rebecca is great! I could tell from meeting her for the first time that she loves what she does! She's hands on and well involved with the kids. She's also a big fan of email as well (had to mention this because not a lot of teachers are (LOL). She helps with potty training which is great! The size of each room are just right and the building/toys/bathrooms are well maintained (CLEAN!). The curriculum is great! Every week is a different theme which I personally think is cute! Parents receive weekly newsletters containing the following week's theme/curriculum which is a great way to keep us posted! We love that our son brings home the work they did each day! We can tell he's learning something new everyday =) You know you chose the right one when your child looks forward to the next school day all the time! Definitely put Alpha Kids on your list... they're worth checking out! read more

I thought this preschool was great. I put my two year old in there because it was the only preschool in SF taking someone of his age at the time. It seemed like it was in a time of transition as there was some teacher turnover when we first started in Feb. But all the teachers were great. They really do fun art projects everyday. They made my energetic hyperactive child into a rule-following, toy-sharing, potty-trained little boy! For that I owe them so much. Even my friends noticed how he transitioned into a well-behaved kiddo after starting at Alpha Kids. We moved him to a different school after 6 months because the commute got too far for us, but if it had been in our neighborhood we would have just kept him there since he had friends and was doing well. The only downside is their outside play area is small and doesn't have a larger play structure, but it is rare to find any preschool with a large outside play area in the city. read more

I absolutely love this school. I had a really hard time finding a Preschool for my 3 and 4 year olds, until I found this gem in the city. My girls loved it from day 1 and just loved to go to school every morning. By the end of the year, they were ahead of most kids their in terms of learning and mannerisms. Ms Rachel did an awesome job with my 4 yr old as did Ms Wong, Ms Fione and Ms Carrie did fro my 3 yr old. They are extremely warm and caring with the kids, which makes the kids love them so much. I wish they had a kindergarten program so my girl could stay with them for another year. I highly recommend this school for anyone who's looking for a preK/preschool with just the right balance of education and fun for the kids. read more

We are so happy to have found Alpha Kids Academy. Luckily we were able to get a part time spot quickly which after just 1 week, 2 full days of attendance, we knew this was the place for our son to move to full time. My son is thriving and learning so much every single day. The teachers are AMAZING- all of them, especially his teacher Ms. Wong! She is awesome, patient and so very sweet with him and all of the kids, even when he is a handful. Each and every teacher is great-- super caring and patient with everyone. They go above and beyond daily, speak very respectfully to the kids and genuinely care about each child. My son loves his "new school" and he's now been attending for about 6 months. He's made many friends, is so proud of his school work and enjoys the special activities they provide--music, sports, and especially show and tell Fridays. Additionally, the teachers at Alpha Kids helped to transition my son to become fully potty trained. When he started at Alpha Kids, he was still wearing pull ups during the day because it seemed easier for his other school to manage, despite the fact that he was fully trained on the weekend. After casually mentioning that he was weekend trained, Ms. Rachael said he shouldn't wear pull ups to school, and just like that, he was fully potty trained without any accidents! They definitely helped us get over the hump! All in all this is a great little school that I am so very happy to have found. Amazing families, fun activities and a wonderful staff. read more

We didn't end up choosing this preschool, but it is great. The location is great, parents can find parking easily, do shopping in the mall or trader Joe's before picking up kids. There is a library one block from the preschool!! We had a tour with Veronica, and she was wonderful, she let my son play with other kids while we were looking at the premises. Everything looked clean, kids were happy. When we were leaving, their music teacher came in and looked absolutely thrilled to spend time with those kids. They also have Mandarin class, which we observed, and guess what! kids knew the rhymes and were really participating in the class. read more
