I remember my first visit with Doctor Au, she was super sweet and nice. I had to get seen for an ingrown toe nail and I couldn't get it surgically removed at the time so she insisted on a cold numbing spray and getting only part of the nail removed. It was painless! And my toe was good! For my second visit I got seen by Dr. Anderson to get the ingrown toenail permanently removed. And thankfully I was able to see them ASAP. I called early in the morning and they were able to schedule me to come in at 3:30pm on the same day! For the procedure I was really anxious at first, because I am not very good with needles, but he was very understanding and patient! He told me to relax and not to worry! We then proceeded to the procedure, which only took 30 minutes and it was super painless! In the end they gave me a sheet on how to take care of my toe! Also, after a week of care you have to do a follow up by either video chatting or coming in person to see how the toe is doing! Overall, I would recommend coming here, staff is really sweet and doctors are super nice too! I live 30 minutes away from the clinic, but it was worth the drive! read more

I went years ago as a first time client, based on a referral from my previous doctor to fix my callouses. The staff was friendly enough & had me filled out paperwork. Dr. Sandra Au was pretty chill, got to the point that I caused the callouses because of poor posture, possibly weight and poor choice of footwear. Nonetheless of how that sounds- I appreciate a honest doctor than one that would try to just upsell me a different service as well. ESP after my run of doctors who would get me in their offices to run around my issues & not actually fix my issues. She was able to shave off my callouses and the relief was uncomfortable at first, but so relieving. Due to how much she had to shave off, she was concerned about how much skin was taken off possibly too close to the bones but I lived to tell the tale! And I'm grateful for the help I had received that day. I still refer to her advice which was finding a sturdy footwear that doesn't bend at the top and has a rectangle top part. It's just difficult for me to find sturdy footwear for my foot size. read more

My dad is diabetic, overweight, and has trouble walking. He sometimes falls and gets cuts that seem minor to a normal person, but tragic for a diabetic. One time it got infected and the doctors at Aloha Foot Centers helped me out so much! They showed me how to clean and care for their wound using some of the products they have in store. They also introduced me to this compression brace that saves me so much frustration! Have you ever put on compression socks for an overweight diabetic? It sucks! I wish it was like throwing a hot dog down a hall way but no! It is absolutely not! Anywho, im much happier now after learning how to care for wounds and using this new compression brace. Dude! Dr. Tsubata saved me! Like I was so shame about my feet because the years and years of neglect and abuse. I definitely wouldn't be able to sell feet pics on the internet due to how busted they were. The last 3 years I had a growth on the bottom of my left foot and my heels were so severely cracked I couldn't wear slippers. I mean I could.. it would just look unappealing. But the growth turned unbearable in 2020, much like everything else.. and I exclaimed enough is enough! With weekends off, they open relatively early. I believe it was 7-5pm. and I'm normally in and out within 30mins or less. I had to go back twice to get my wart removed and comeback for a follow up to make sure it didn't comeback. He also Rxed a cream for my crusty heels and it looks so much better! If I were actually consistent, my foot would probably be 100% healed by now. Wonderful bedside manner. Very personable, which was huge for me bc I was already sticking my nasty ass feet in his face..so talking about random things took the pressure off. But business is business and he is very thorough about explaining what's going on and why. Highly recommend! read more

AlohaFoot Center is the BEST Foot Center on the Island! Dr. Tsubata is Fantastic and if only other Doctors were more like him the Medical Field would be a better place!! Not only is the office concerned about your needs they are truly compassionate & reallycare about how they can help you! It is a rare experience when I meet someone who is as passionate about his/her job as this: enthusiastically letting the words bubble out, clearly knowledgeable about a focused skill, and devoted to educating another individual using this knowledge. It can be almost overwhelming to encounter this sort of passion, since so many people just slog through the work day, staring at the clock until it's over. True passion cannot be contained. Dr. Ken Tsubata has this passion. After a recent foot injury, I was looking for a professional opinion about whether or not I needed orthotic inserts for my shoes. After looking through Yelp reviews and calling around, I made an appointment at the Aloha Foot Centers. The phone staff was warm, professional, and knowledgeable. On my appointment day, I was lucky to snag a parking spot right next to the facility. I checked in and filled out the necessary paperwork. Again, the front desk staff was wonderful. Even though I arrived rather early, I was able to see Dr. Tsubata in a timely manner. I explained the progression of my injury and he asked thoughtful questions along the way. (He even remarked that I could be a "fascinating" case study in medical literature for the unusual presentation of the conditions.) With permission, he manipulated my feet to judge their movement, enthusiastically and intensely explaining his findings along the way. Eventually, he explained that I shouldn't need the (very expensive) custom orthotics unless I start doing intense athletic training again. He brought a pair of Sole orthotics to try, also recommending a few other pairs. He clearly discussed what I should look for in a good orthotic and stable shoe, bending my shoe to show me where it had too much give. I also received a sheet that recommended specific footwear and exercises. At the end of the visit, Dr. Tsubata demonstrated effective stretching techniques, enthusiastically explaining the science behind his recommendations. It's clear that he keeps up with the medical literature and uses it to inform his care. Checkout was easy and the staff answered all my questions in a very professional manner. I received specific instructions for trying the orthotics and was told there was a 30-day refund policy in place, should I decide that they aren't working for me. I was very pleased with the Aloha Foot Centers and Dr. Ken Tsubata's care. I recommend this location for anyone who needs an evaluation. read more

I went in see Dr Ken Tsubata with a broken toe. I was very apprehensive because I could see that it was crooked and I knew he would have to set it. But he was awesome! He told me I needed injections and right away I started to freak out and asked him if he could give me something so that I wouldn't feel it but you know what? He sprayed it with some freezing stuff and by golly I did not feel any of the three injections that he gave me. And then when he pulled and yanked on my toe to put it back in place I didn't feel that either! I thanked him for putting up with me cuz I am a total big baby about stuff like that and I really, really appreciate him and his patience! First appointment doctor was a little late, understandable as I think she was the only one there (just be aware if you're using the coin parking lot). She went above and beyond for my issues. She gave me a few temporary relievers and even took X-rays so I could see what was wrong. Offered to stretch my shoes and apply pads into it. They should change their name to no aloha foot center! Idk who the doctor is here now but he's a frickin jerk and it's no longer lareaux! I made an appointment for what I think is a fracture in my foot. Long story short is when I called they told me next available is a week out. I explain my situation and the girl tells me I can come in today at 1:30. I admit I was 10 min late but not an hour late as I could here the doctor telling the receptionist. I over hear this ignorant/cocky mofo lecturing the receptionist about how I'm an hour late and that's unacceptable. He'll see me this time but now I'll have to wait till he's good and ready! He's sitting in his office at his desk on his computer. She comes in and explains that I'm an hour late and I technically should've been there at 1 for checkin. Um hellooooooo? I wasn't told this! Im an existing patient also! I've been here multiple times to see Dr. lareaux‍ after hearing this ignorant mofo lecture his receptionist I'd rather just pay ER rates and walked out. If this new doctor would get off his high horse for a min he'd realize this was miscommunication. My appointment was at 1:15, I was told 1:30, I was there by 1:40, by the time I used the bathroom, filled out a short form, and made it to the exam room it was almost 2. I was right in the next room and over heard every word of his lecture! I felt bad for the receptionist because it was neither of our faults. read more

My teen son was referred to Aloha Foot Centers by an orthopedist (no visible broken bones in x-rays, but lingering foot pain from hurting his foot playing soccer. Dr. Au was personable and my son and I both liked her because of her friendliness and obvious expertise. The orthopedist had been unable to pinpoint where his pain was coming from, but Dr. Au knew right where to press to elicit the pain he was describing. We were both impressed. After a month in a hard-soled sandal, the pain was gone. She prescribed an insert and an ankle brace, both which seem to be keeping him from repeated injury. My son no longer complains of foot or ankle pain. Dr. Au even scraped off a small callus on his foot during examination. I am now going to send my dad there to get a medical pedicure. As an aside, we went to the Kailua location, and the office is a little tricky to find in the maze-like layout of the ground floor. read more

Dr. Au is my primary doctor. I appreciate her and the whole team in making appointments and working with me for any special needs. They are all very prompt, efficient and patient centered. I recently had pain on Sunday and they were able to work me in on Monday morning! I had to see Dr. Au's partner and he was also very good. Office hours are wonderful. My first time at Aloha Foot Centers and every thing was great. From making my first appointment to seeing the Dr was absolute seamless. The Dr was wonderful and funny! I had previously been to a Podiatrist on the mainland where he removed them but it looked like he just cut them off without regard and left them jagged and nasty. The Dr at Aloha Foot Centers did a wonderful job and I could hardly tell where he even removed the nail. As of today I still have pretty feet and it's only been a week. Dr. Au is amazing but the front desk staff is not very pleasant or helpful. If someone calls and says that they are in pain they should make it clear that walk-ins will be left to sit in the front for hours. If you're actually having a foot emergency, this is not the place to go. They expected me to stay for hours in the waiting room with a toddler... literal hours. We were immediately taken to an exam room and I barely started filling out the forms before Dr. Tsubata came in. Dr. Ken Tsubata so amazing! My 15 year-old grandson put off 2 years of dealing with a ingrown toe nail. He saw Dr. Tsubata on many occassion for his toe. Doc educated him on his toe and fix the problem but nevered presssure him to remove it till, he slam it hard enough that it was so painful and bloody, that it started to swell. I called on Friday and got an appt on Monday. Again Dr. Tsubata educated him about his toe. My grandson had no second thoughts of keeping his ingrown toenail (I was surprise). Throughout the surgery which lasted less than 10 minutes they were in deep conversation about school, sports. gaming and things that 15 years love to do or talk about. He had no pain at all. Two days later just once he needed a Tylenol. I would recommend anyone especially a child to visit Dr. Tsubata if they are having problems with their foot.
