The lowdown on the ALOFT Guadalajara
Trying hard to be a W Hotel with little WOW.
Blah and shockingly bland common spaces/lobby.
Cold industrial feel, but not a cool industrial feel, just cheap.
Non heated pool the side of a large jacuzzi and a half.
Lack of overall service in all departments.
Food is limited to prepackaged muffins, 2 types of flavor.
They sell a few select items to take to your room. The items include.
Candybars
Cup 0 Noodles
Granola bars
** My photos reflect the top floor penthouse WOW suite, not the average room. It was large and cool but not a blow away experience. Room is poorly stocked with amenities, snacks, or anything else. It's quite bare for the best suite in the hotel.
Slow front desk.
Average - bar with lousy cocktail and alcohol selections and very inexperienced bar tenders.
I am giving them 3 stars in a stretch. Simply because they have potential to be better if they want to be and they are fairly new.
NH Hotel across the street makes better since if you are looking for a more traditional full service hotel with all the amenities we expect in the USA.
We walked over and checked it out for the next time we are in town. It proved to be pretty nice and perhaps a best choice for next time. I was attracted to the Aloft young hip marketing and younger vibe but it was nothing of the sort. read more
