First staff was great! We had an issue and had to leave a day early and Shane was super helpful and helped us get every thing situated and cancelled. So, the hotel was nice, conveniently located and the staff was friendly and helpful. My dissatisfaction with the hotel is due to my lack of due diligence. It is a trendy modern hotel, that seems designed for a single business traveler. The room is small and compact with almost no free space to speak of. The biggest issue I have is there is no room to stretch and relax and NO comfortable seating to sit and unwind. The only seating is a curved banquette and small table that is supremely uncomfortable. We were in town for a memorial, and this was picked as a good central location to everyone coming in. I should have researched and found a more appropriate property. Again, my rating is nothing against the hotel, it was just not the style of hotel I prefer. read more

It was a rocky start but the people working here took care of me in the end did the right thing and I can appreciate that as nothing is perfect. Got a room where the safe didn't work, the room was warm and the person above me kept me up all night. Talked to the the team working up front and they moved me to a new room. Call me old-school, but trendy hotels just don't do it for me. I don't like to see my clothing hanging out in the middle of my room because they don't actually take the time to build the closet. The refrigerator is so tiny. It's difficult to put anything in there at all And your dining room table is literally a bar table. That is so small only two people can sit at it. Definitely not my choice of hotels to stay at. My boss booked this room and I advised him never to let me stay here again good for the really young crowd I guess. Don't judge me. Awful management both here and their sister property next door, the Element - the management group owns both. They could care less about making you feel welcome. I brought a very large group of over 100 rooms for an event and the manager didn't even brief the staff about our party arriving. No welcome, no thanks for all of y'all coming to our hotel. I asked them to put out a simple sign welcoming the families and the manager said we will do it, and they didn't do it. I couldn't find anyone to open up the meeting room for our party and no on site person met with me when I arrived and was left to figure stuff on my own. It was stressful and the management simply doesn't care. In the event follow up they didn't return my emails and I had to hound them to get my Marriott Bonvoy event coordinator points added. The rooms are nice and the location is decent but because the management and lack of customer service / hospitality I would pass on this place. I even called their district supervisor to voice my concerns and he never returned my call either. Pretty bad considering their job revolves around hospitality. It's becoming more commonplace for businesses and associates to not care about taking care of their customers and making them feel welcome and appreciated, and that scares me. read more

My stay here was excellent. The front desk representatives such as Gustavo, Jesus, Shane and all staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating. I stayed August 12-15th. The General manager and Chief Enginner Eric Bartlett were also helpful with any questions I had about my room, the smells and recommendation places to dine and shop. Pros: Rooms are nice. I like the games downstairs, like pool and Jenga. The Bar was a nice addition. decent food in walking distance, although you will be walking on a sidewalk next to a highway. Cons: the swimming Pool is small & I got charged $8 for a white claw even though it said $5. read more

We stayed here with my family while in Round Rock, Texas. The staff were nice and the bartender was cool. The design in the lobby was nice. I just wish they have a microwave and a BIGGER fridge in the room and a closet to put our clothes. The room was a little bit small for 2 beds. They need towel racks/hooks in the bathroom. The fridge was too small we can barely put food there. Only good for bottled drinks but if you have leftover food, they won't fit. read more

When it comes to hotels, you get what you pay for. This isn't an overly expensive hotel, so it's not extravagant either. It doesn't have a bunch of bells and whistles that other hotels may have, but it's suitable for a place to sleep. I will say I stayed here during prom (realized when it was too late) and the room next to me was unbelievably loud, but the front desk employee was great about asking them to be respectful of the rooms around them. read more

RUN don't walk, RUN back to car and go somewhere else. This hotel allows obviously drunk people to leave their premise and drive off. Just as we arrived I was unloading our car, I witnessed a drunk man exiting the hotel where I was parked and he was screaming and yelling explicative nonsense to his poor dog, that yes, he brought to the hotel bar with him. Scared me half to death! His words: "I'm gonna blow your f-ing head off you m*fking piece of $hit." He kept yelling out loud how he was going to beat and blow the dog's brains out! Went inside to tell the lobby staff what was happening and they said "yes he's been at the bar all night and he's staying here". Next my husband and I stood in the lobby for 20+ minutes waiting for "staff" to communicate and to check us in (there were 2). When I say they were not speaking to us or explaining what was going on and taking so long, I mean ZERO discussion or acknowledgement, even though we kept trying to talk with them. Supposedly, they couldn't "locate our room". They didn't say that but we just assumed maybe that was the problem?! We had already pre-booked and paid for the room via the Marriott Bonvoy app and I had the confirmation code on my phone to show them...they still just kept ignoring us. I could understand the delay like that if there were multiple people checking in but that wasn't the case, it was just the two of us checking in after 10pm. Finally out of nowhere and minutes from us just walking out (my husband was already on the phone with another hotel), the staffer says "sorry for the wait here's your room key". Upon leaving first thing in the morning 9am. The new lobby staff member doesn't bother to greet us as we are walking past with our luggage. She saw us and just gives us some tired/annoyed "look". I smiled anyway and she just went back to her business. Husband and I are chatting as we are about to head out door, and the same staff member shouts across the lobby "hey, are you checking out?!"....Really?! Cuz it's pretty obvious we are. As with most hotels, there's no need anymore to stop at the front desk to officially "check out" as everything digital. *walls are super thin, you hear every hotel guest in the rooms/hallways *staff is rude and incompetent *shower gel is shower caddy was completely empty *hotel sits next to major HWY so you hear traffic all night and early morning *the club/bar vibe in the lobby lends itself to rift raft and no doubt "other things" *feels like a "fancy" Motel 6 The entire experience was bizarre, unacceptable and uncomfortable. We've stayed in hundreds of hotels and B&B's through the years and this one was of the absolute worst! Bottom-line, save your money and stress go somewhere else - this place is, for lack of better words, ghetto! read more

This could have been a good review, but we were in room 308 which was on the highway side. The room was not properly soundproofed so we could hear the highway noise all night long. Finally turned on the fan so we could have some other noise in the room, but really don't consider this to be a valid solution. Our friends had room 307 on the other side and didn't have the noise problem. DO NOT TAKE AN EVEN NUMBERED ROOM - THEY ARE ON THE HIGHWAY SIDE! read more

This was one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in (and that's including luxury hotels as well). The staff and cleaning crew were very friendly. Easy check in, easy check out, no issue. Our room was very clean, the beds were comfortable, and they even offered free streaming services (i.e Netflix, Showtime, and HBO with no hidden charges) during our stay. They had a decent workout room with all the basic necessities that one could use, and not a bad pool either (pretty small though). Based on what others have posted, I'd say that this location has improved quite a bit (but as a caveat, everyone will have different experiences). Give this place a stay. read more

'Ello chaps! Aloft hotel is a fairly new hotel located about twenty minutes north of downtown Austin, depending on traffic. Because of its age, you'll find clean, spacious rooms. Staff is very friendly. Only downside are some of the breakfast offerings and prices, including $1-$2 for muffins. Overall I give Aloft in Round Rock four stars out of five. If you're needing to be downtown or close to the airport this may not be the best hotel, but if you're looking for price and value, this is far better than anything you'll find downtown. read more

Requested top floor away from ice and elevator. Was checked in to first floor near ice machine and down the hall from the bar. Room was not clean. Shower was dirty, rug was filthy with a piece of fried chicken in it, picture did not match the tiny room at all, weird lighting - one switch for entire room, one switch for bathroom, highway noise, blinds did not block light and we're torn, thin scratchy towels, view of parking lot 4 feet away, noisy hallway with slamming doors, hardly anything in walking distance like restaurants, bars etc., "couch" not a couch - only about a foot and a half deep with hard cushion, 4 hangers total in a bar stuck in the wall- no closet, small snack bar but no real breakfast. A little too minimal...well, a lot. About equal to a Super 8. read more

Cute hotel. Pool is on the small side and walls are thin. If you are on the first floor you can hear noise from lobby. Food in lobby is very limited and is not served at all times. The staff was overall, friendly and helpful. We got in late, and when we got in our room there was hair and a hair rubber band on the bathroom counter, and hair in the shower. The room was clean otherwise. The hotel is only 2 mo old, so everthing in the room is fairly new. The bar has no real set ours. I was told by a staff member that they are feeling it out, reg the hours of opportoraration, to see how many patrons request it? We had a cocktail and some food one night, and did not see the bar open again, for the remainder of our stay. The lobby SMELLS! It smells like a Y2K frat boy. The scent is overwhelming, and smacks you right as you walk in. I thought I was in an Abercrombie in 2001. What's worse is that all the soap in the bathroom has that same, "signature scent." Why would I want to smell like a hotel lobby? And why does your hotel lobby smell like a Windsong knockoff of Auqua di gio? The walls are thin. I get it, it's a hotel. You can hear every conversation clearly through the walls, though. Housekeeping on my floor was shouting and laughing in the hallway at the earliest hour, every day. I took comfort in that it sounded like they like their job, with all of the loud sharing and laughing. Happy employees are a great sign. I just wish it didn't sound like they were having a blast...in my room...at 6am. Overall, for a quick business trip, this place works. It has a fun funky lobby, and it seems that there is potential for improvement, as they find their groove, as a new property. read more

My wife and I stayed at this place about a month after it opened. While the facility is new, we weren't all that impressed with the service and staff at this place. First of all, the hotel itself is new and mostly nice. The rooms are decorated in a kind of dead-tech, CSI Austin style that probably won't appeal to most people over the age of 30. The bathrooms are nice, especially the shower stalls, which are large and almost luxurious. This was the best part of our rooms. Beds were comfortable, likely because we were about the first people to sleep on them. The room was somewhat noisy, though, because the hotel fronts a busy freeway. It's not that bad late at night, but it is noticeable most of the day. The rest of the grounds look nice and new and generally will appeal to younger guests. The service and staff at this hotel are a disaster. The first thing I did when we arrived was to attempt to connect to the wifi. Only, there were no instructions in our room, as there are in most hotel rooms. So I called the front desk. After getting passed around to three different annoyed kids, I finally spoke to someone who walked me through several different attempts to connect, all of which failed. He eventually begged off and told me he'd check into it and get back to me. So it was clear no one there knew how to use the wifi. An hour and a half later I got a call from the front desk with login help. Later that evening, my wife and I went down to the hotel bar to get a drink and relax before heading out to dinner. When my wife tried to order a drink, the dopey girl behind the bar claimed she didn't know how to make a margarita. I couldn't believe that a "bartender" didn't know how to make probably the most commonly ordered cocktail in Texas. She offered to "give it a stab," but we declined, and stuck to beer. She didn't seem the least bit embarrassed, either, at admitting her own abject incompetence. Anyone can learn to make a margarita in about two minutes by perusing either Youtube or a bar manual, but that's apparently too much to ask of the bar staff at this place. The next morning, we went downstairs to get breakfast...except there was no breakfast. That's right, $150 a night did not get us a complimentary breakfast. That was when I finally regretted staying at this place, because that's the point it became more hassle than it was worth. That's why I would recommend this hotel only as an absolute last resort during busy festival or football weekends. It's not worth what you will pay, but it is a basic place to stay that is nicer than Super 8 and closer than Waco. Otherwise, if you have a choice in lodging, I would not recommend staying at Aloft. Austin is full of places that provide more amenities at a cheaper price. read more

Room was very clean, and modern. Loved the fact they have Netflix and Hulu on the TVs. Made my stay that much better :) The lobby has games which was entertaining for myself. The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially, Jamie! She mentioned she was new, but she was a pleasure to meet and very accommodating due to my last minute flight change. Brand new and cute. Great set up in the rooms with a cute little work desk! Great sheets. My complaint was not notifying it was new but no bartender or food. So empty. And had to leave to eat and drink. Also I travel a ton for work and I left my hat here . I called all day and no answer. The next day although they were nice they didn't have my hat. At an empty hotel. One of the few rooms cleaned couldn't locate something left? Sigh. Oh well minor annoyances. The room was good and had the bar been open maybe a better vibe. read more

This a bare bones hotel...Don't expect too much....Nobody at the front desk to ask for a wake up call, even when you ask, they don't provide one...Although I asked not to be disturbed for an hour, the cleaning service never returned to make up my room. Terrible place to stay. I felt like I was back in my college days staying in a loud college dorm. We were right off the lobby and could hear everything in the lobby and everything in the room above us. We were booked there for a soccer tournament and were supposed to have breakfast through the hotel every morning. Cold, dry muffins and plastic eggs are not what I serve teenagers for breakfast. The bar was advertised to be opened until midnight on Saturday night. We had ten parents hanging out together in the bar and the bartender called for last call at 11:15 because she wanted to "go home." Avoid this place unless you have no other place to stay. Housekeeping made our beds but didn't give us new towels or additional toilet paper, which was great with 3 people taking showers. One of them was a soccer player with 3 games on Saturday. Our toilet ran constantly and the shower leaked so we had to use one of our towels for the water all over the bathroom floor. Seriously I was really disappointed in this new hotel. read more
