When we moved to Corpus I originally seen one pediatrician and she was not great. We switched to abc pediatrics after hearing the rave and ended up with Dr. Chua. I am SO glad we ended up in her office. I cannot say enough great things about her. She is so nice, professional, and thorough. She doesn't rush in and out of the office. She takes her time to listen to all of your concerns. No question is ever too stupid. She will explain everything so that you'll understand. She truly cares about you! One time I couldn't get an appointment with her because she was booked for the day. I seen her at the store and told her about it. She told me that if that ever happened again, to send in a message through her nurse. Sure enough the next time that happened, she made the time for us by squeezing us in her busy schedule! We love her!!!! She's the best! Every doctor I've seen at abc pediatrics as been great -- as when your doctor is unavailable you're able to schedule with another. I personally prefer Dr. chua though! My only complaint is her office staff. The front staff and appointment/scheduling is the worst! They are rude and unprofessional. It almost makes it seem like the rest of the office would be a nightmare, but overall the doctors are great! The front staff suck but if you can get passed that, you won't regret it!

I told them it was okay and I would pay cash. The representative then proceeded to tell me that it would be fraud if I paid cash, because if I have cash to pay, we do not need insurance. What the hell is going on there? It is not fraud to pay cash for services, period.

Her office is called her zoo, and she has lots of animal statues and pictures. It's super cute! The office is split into a well visit side and a sick visit side. Not just the waiting rooms, but the whole office is split. I really like that. She has a nursery to feed your baby in too. As if all that isn't enough: SHE IS THE ONLY DOCTOR I'VE EVER MET THAT VALUES YOUR TIME! We have been in and out in less than an hour every time, and she still has plenty of time to spend with every patient. She doesn't rush the visit. I can't say enough good things about this Doctor!

She…read moretook the time to listen and was extremely caring- she made both my son and I completely at ease. Recently we were switched to Dr Borchard with no warning. It turns out that Dr Mungia left the practice- and after our second visit with Dr Borchard I don't blame her one bit! Our first visit with him was uneventful beyond the fact he was over an hour and a half late. He changed my sons medication and asked that we follow up in two weeks- and here's where things get fun. After starting my sons new medication he began to experience extreme sleep issues- waking up multiple times a night and staying up for HOURS. Dr Borchard first suggested that we UP the medications dose and add a sleeping aide. My son is EIGHT. He's never had sleeping issues and our bedtime routine the first time was praised for being on track and exact to their recommendations. Suddenly the routine we have sucks- the Dr is talking only to my husband and AT me vs with me. He continues to push upping the dose and asking my son multiple times what his age was. (He had already upped the dose with the change from 5 to 20 msg!!) In short this guy is rude, abrasive, doesn't listen to parents concerns and obviously doesn't bother to read his patients charts. Oh and don't worry! He has a new doctor in training who mentioned the sleeping meds before Dr Borchard even came in- so he's training the next generation of assholes who don't listen! We're switching tomorrow and I'll shout in every moms group that asks about what a shit experience our two visits with that office have been. The only upside is his nurses and his office staff are amazing but I feel horrible they have to work with him- but even that is one star material.

In my view, the delay of more than a week in processing necessary medication refills demonstrates a concerning lack of attention to patient care and could be considered negligent. Furthermore, this appears to be a recurring issue, as similar concerns about unresponsiveness are reflected in multiple patient reviews for this provider.
