Pasadena always has the best gas prices . The convenience store was smaller than average, but it appeared to have (I didn't go inside) the staples - your snacks, lottery, beer, cigarettes, drinks, bathroom, etc. They have steady business here. The good thing is, if it gets real packed, there is a Shell right across the street that usually has the same gas prices. I have been to both and they are both great. I've been to this location multiple times before and will come again. The only thing that may not be fun is during rush hour, you might never be able to get out of there because that traffic can get bad! Other than that, everything here is dandy.

I found the restroom to be clean and neat. I have watched them be so helpful to travelers or people who needed directions or redirecting. I have seen them make phone calls to other places to help a traveler above and beyond ordinary service. Special note.: I have found them to be extremely polite and helpful to women and never make them feel uninformed always providing whatever information is necessary and then providing whatever service is needed, and it becomes a very pleasant experience. Checkpoint is a reliable gas station with cheap gas, and they also have a pretty tasty Church's Chicken location inside here. It's new and big and clean and always has plenty of pumps available, which is great. They have a convenience store and they even sell pretty good tacos inside here. So it's more like a four star gas station, honestly. I'd give the Church's a 3 or 4, same for the convenience store and the pumps, but I especially like the tacos that they have in here, although I can't be sure they're still here but I'll keep you posted.

Before going to this place I went to meineke at belfort and kirkwood and they told me that my flex pipe had some holes and they don't come by themselves and need to replace the whole thing (with catalytic convertor) costs $800. They also charged me $50 diagnostic fee. I stopped at new star and was told that they don't charge for diagnostics and told me that they can put in just the flex pipe by cutting it out and then weld it for $170. They did that in an hour and now my car has no noise. Awesome Job!! I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to get work done on their mufflers.
