I had the unique circumstance to make 2 homeowners claims with 2 different insurance companies…read moreafter a huge hail storm came through our town. We have our primary house that we have lived in for 16 years and it is insured through Amica Mutual Insurance. Amica was great. They sent an adjuster over and noticed problems that we hadn't noticed. They were quick to send a check and aimed high on their estimate of the damage. The other house was a new build that is about 3/4 mile away. It was insured through Farmers Insurance. They also sent an adjuster over and came back with an estimate about 1/4 the costs that Amica estimated. Their estimate will not cover the costs to repair the house. There are two great insurers in this country...USAA and Amica. All of the companies will take your money and treat you well until it is time to do their job and cover your claims.
