I have been upset from the get go with this company, 1st they quoted a rate of 111.00 per month for both homeowners and auto, I agreed and canceled the other company that I had been with for 30 + years and had built up considerable discounts, then in no time at all they went up to 173.00, I objected, then they canceled me, saying that they could not write my home, this after having accepted it, so take note. Then they billed me for 44.00 more with some kind of reason that I did not understand, the insurance was supposed to have been cancelled on the 26 of May but I got a call today asking for the money, I called them and they said they would take care of it, but after all I have been thru I fully expect them to ask for more money even though I asked for the cancellation at least two weeks before the 26, and it was supposed to have been cancelled on that day, if they do I will try to update this review accordingly, but I do not think I will have any recourse in the matter, if they say I owe them what can I do but pay? And these are mistakes they made on the policy, they stated that the Roof surface material type Composition X 100% asphalt / fiberglass shingle X (it is metal) Exterior wall type 100% vinyl siding X ( it is also metal) Foundation Slab at grade, 100% X (It is piers) So my experience with this company has been very very disgusting to say the least, read more

I've been with these guys for a couple years now. I moved my business there after being with another company for a couple of decades. They saved me about a thousand dollars on my home and auto. They represent a good company in Allstate. They're local. Not a nameless voice on the phone in a galaxy far away. They're a good bunch of guys as well. Recently, my homeowners bill TRIPLED. Although I receive emails from Mr. Scattergood's office regularly, they decided not to email me, but sent a generic letter advising me to call them (I thought it was yet another solicitation for life insurance, etc). Maybe they hoped I wouldn't notice my auto payment increased? When I called, his staff was cordial, but had no urgency to resolve the situation or tell me why it happened. A couple days later, Mr. Scatter good called me and told me my rate had increased because the former policy was wrong and that this was an accurate policy, because my home was 1-story, rather than the 2-story description for the previous policy. (My home IS 2 stories on top of a walkout basement - 3 levels.) When I told him this, he proceeded to tell me that no, it wasn't! "I have pictures and pictures don't lie," he said. I told him that apparently this pictures don't tell the whole story, because I know what kind of house I live in! He proceeded to throw all kinds of questions at me, again, insinuating that I am either so ridiculously stupid that I don't know how many levels are in my house, or that I'm lying! He asked for proof by way of floor plans, and I obliged. I politely suggested that if he were in this situation with a customer ever again, he would do better to not suggest they are an idiot or lying and instead take their word for it and then work on proving their word to the underwriters - NOT the other way around. Instead of kindly thanking me for that good advice, he accused me of yelling at him, "jumping all over him" ... Etc. And now that he's seen the blueprints, did he apologize? Nope - it took him 9 days, two voice messages and a call to corporate just to get him to call me back! I have never experienced such poor customer service nor such lack of accountability for ones actions in a business owner. I don't know whether I will be staying with Allstate, but I know for sure I won't be giving one more penny to Mr. Scattergood. SMH! read more
