I've had my kids in Jiu Jitsu for two yeas, we've been through 3 gyms and researched several others. The search is over, Alliance is clearly the answer! Professor Julio (co-owner), former school teacher turned Jiu Jitsu world champion is in a class of his own that you won't find anywhere else. He has created a fun positive learning environment. The curriculum and lesson plans are well thought out with intent to ensure you build and add to a solid foundation. This is refreshing as it often feels other gyms just wing instruction. Have trained MMA and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at various gyms, and Alliance SLC has hands down been the best experience I have had. The guidance and training you receive under a world champion (Julio) is something that cannot be replicated. Despite his pedigree, Julio is the most down-to-earth trainer I have had. Professors Juan and Jenn are also very high-level, so instruction quality is stellar. Also, the general manager, Steve, has provided the best customer service and PR experience I have had at any gym. Intensity of training is high, but safety and injury prevention are top priority. Atmosphere is very welcoming, much more so than other experiences I have had. No inappropriate or aggressive behavior is tolerated. They also have an on-site sauna and other equipment, key for optimizing performance and recovery for athletes. Both Steve and Julio are very pleasant easy going people, they answered all my questions concerning my sons lessons, combined with their website made it an easy choice. The very best facility I have seen to date, great space, three bathrooms ,three showers with a Sauna. Plenty of seating for the parents to watch and wait also very clean and organized. They also feature a fully sprung mat that dampens shock to the body. Julio, the main I structor has an impressive track record of multiple world BJJ titles under his belt as well as a master's degree in teaching so he not only has the BJJ knowledge but the understanding of how to teach. I would recommend this for anyone who is interested in learning this craft. By far the nicest Dojo I have seen both in terms of the facility but the knowledge they can impart on you. This is one of the best schools I've been to. The mats are amazing, the facility is always clean and the bathrooms have showers which is awesome. Having a sauna at a jiujitsu gym is so helpful for recovery and the I've loved it. Can't recommend this place enough! read more
