I was really disappointed by my course in the summer of 2016. The school is cheap compared to others in town, but in this case you get what you pay for.
The teachers did not create an environment conducive to learning. There were two students who continuously whispered and giggled in the back of the class, and the teachers did nothing to stop them. Very distracting.
The curriculum was poor. On the first day of class we were presented with vocabulary for different body types along with projected pictures of nearly naked people in various shapes and sizes. Then we were asked to talk about what our ideal and least favorite body types were, how that related to our cultures, and how that related to French culture. Totally inappropriate and uncomfortable. In other cases, the curriculum was unclear, and materials were inaccurate.
We spent way too much time listening to the teachers and not nearly enough time talking ourselves.
On the last day of class we watched a movie and had a short discussion. Terrible use of our class time. We can watch movies on our own time. read more
